Can we put to bed the nonsense that we were doomed when NC left.....
Dig Dig replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
I'm begining to wonder if NC did anything right? You wouldn't think so reading half the tosh on here. We completed the 5 year plan and the club is certainly better off in nearly everyway now in comparison to 2009. That's the bottom line. -
Everyone has known that Sherwood would be sacked for ages. I doubt the development would have been a surprised or changed Pochettino's plans. Of course he could go there but I doubt that Sherwoods sacking would have caused him to suddenly stop negotiating a new contract, the spurs job was always going to be available this summer.

Doesn't look like Reed to me.

The board should ban them from St Mary's

Damn, now we may never know : (

She doesn't have my support until she spends all her money getting us to the Champions League.

The accounts were released at the same time so their statements certainly were not the unvarnished truth but rather sanded down to make them look worse than they are.

Gareth had less charisma and confidence than the groundsman when speaking at the awards ceremony.

Should help our "precarious financial situation" -
When you say "heard" do you mean Chris Ran on your Twitter feed?

He'd probably tell the players that they are not for sale. These players are not going on strike are they, they shouldn't have signed a 5 year contract a year ago if they have plans to do so.

What does it matter? Your crystal ball says one thing, his will say another.

How about trust and investment in own grown players supported by a transfer policy which targets young and hungry players with the right attitude and have them play an attractive and effective brand of football under a young workhorse manager and let them grow together.......oh wait....
-
We could be due to get near 60M on player sales plus the 82M from PL. It would only be fair and normal for Pochettino to know how much of that he has to work with before players are sold around him. I'm sure he'd sooner just work with what we got. Good irrelevant rant though.

That's the point which I think people are missing. Absolutely no reason at all for someone like Cork to be left in limbo and signs like that don't bode well. We are lucky that our big players are all on good contracts, at least that's one thing.
-
No but it's doesn't look great for them if the worst does happen. Lowe took enourmous flack for failing to back Strachan after 2003 season. Things can deteriorate very quickly at this level and it's not been good having players and manager come out and basically say that they love it here but have no idea what the ambition and aims are now. When you have a player like Cork coming out and saying that he loves it here but no one has discussed a contract with him, you have to ask why. Complacency or something else?
-
Everyone keeps on trotting out examples of players leaving other clubs. Of course it happens. Based on the speculation around us at the moment, who has lost 3, 4, 5 key players and manager in one summer and been better off for it? Certainly not Everton.

You'll have to ask him although Ballague said it was to keep a level of distance between him and reporters.

Yea, Monaco is a big job but Poch wants to stay in the Prem which is at our advantage but also Spurs as well. Doubt Newcastle have any chance what so ever. Agree with Smirking, seems Poch wouldn't leave other than for footballing reason, this should be a 100% priority for the board, I doubt they would even come close to replacing him adequately
-
Guillem Ballague on SSN saying that it's a crucial week for Saints regarding Poch, need to assure him players can be replaced and are able to match his ambitions. Monaco have approached him and also intermediates from Newcastle bizarrely. Also, in case any morons still need to be told, he's spoken English with the players since day 1 and can now speak near perfect English.

The transformation into relegation fodder really would be done in record time.

Any idea how that 30M would be better than having Shaw?

Everyone judges and everyone is judged. Doesn 't matter who you are, Ralph is no different to anyone else. Just my initial opinion which could change.

So you think we should be selling before the World Cup then when their values could otherwise increase? And that's the real world?

He does nothing but invite speculation. I think he's out if his depth personally.
