  1. Why do Utd need Lallana? Wouldn't address any of their current issues like old CB's with replacements who are not good enough, fullbacks and lack of pace through midfield. They have Mata, Kagawa and the Belgian kid. Where would Lallana fit in?
  2. 8/10 based on where we are now. 5/10 in terms on longer term expectations.
  3. Have you read the statement?
  4. Like the rest of them. Pathetic really.
  5. The only hypothetical scenario is actually keeping MP and the players
  6. The best way of doing that is keeping hold of what we have first and foremost, management team and players. We are not far off pushing on a bit but the only way is backwards if we start dismantling what we have. There have been no indication of what the boards plans are and the players and Pochettino seem none the wiser either which is concerning with the end of season around the corner. We should be well on our way towards planning for next season.
  7. I think the same
  8. The old proverbial hand bites will be issued by sections of the fans. Can't wait until we build a new super squad with all the cash from player sales.
  9. It shouldn't be that impossible. These players have been at the club for most of their lives and will be rich anyway. Keeping them for 3-4 seasons whilst actually achieving something ourselves should be the aim.
  10. The point is that we invest heavily in our academy and produce our own talent and only get to see them fleetingly. I know that you're a big club fan boy but the club is very different from the one which sold Bale, Walcott even Ox. We are established in the Premier League and have been able to sign good players to supplement what we have. No one is saying that everyone will stay forever but a season and a half is no way near enough for us to get any benefit from producing these types of players beyond money and some slaps on the back for producing young English players. We should be a position to keep these players for 3-4 seasons. As a fan, would you rather Shaw was playing for us next or would you prefer 30M in the bank?
  11. So what? Why do we need 30M? We won't invest it all back into the team and will end up with a weaker squad overall. When have we ever improved having sold our best players?
  12. Pochettino said last week that Shaw is happy and isn't requesting a move away. The articles today appear to suggest that the deal has been worked on for months so someone is telling porkies.
  13. What's not "real" about rather seeing us have the best possible players play for us? 30M won't help the fans and we won't end up with a better player than Shaw. I don't care or get all giddy about fee's received for players, particularly ones from our academy. Surely it's better to see them stay and achieve something with us? Fail to see how this is a good deal for all, it isn't from a fan perspective IMO.
  14. You expect Clyne can play in midfield in a 433 variation? At the expense of who?
  15. Our philosophy is linked to our academy. Bringing someone in who isn't interested in that wouldn't be a good move for us. Apparently the atmosphere at Everton was one of fear for academy players under Moyes, too afraid to takes chances and make mistakes.
  16. He's been accused of ignoring the academy at Everton for 10 years. Wouldn't be a good fit for us at all.
  17. I'm sure the 30K the club will make from your books over the next 10 years will help retain any player we want Duncan.
  18. If we are going to lose cork for 3M or less, maybe the OP was right all along?
  19. You would only ridicule him if he did mention Champions League aspirations
  20. His statements so far haven't been particularly strong and often a little non-committal. If he manages to keep our first team and coaching team/manager together and prove that the club are committed to progress on the pitch then I will be pleased. The constant talk of the commercial vacuum and our supposed precarious financial situation doesn't make it seem that we are closed shop.
  21. If Pochettino is limited and over rated, presumably you think we should be top 6 with the squad we have?

    Sign him up!

He would have been a decent option for us this season.
  24. All is good in the land of Southampton FC.
  25. Apparently the fans want us to be a commercial mega-machine so you can expect things to get worse on that front.
