  1. Oh he's seen 2 games earlier this season so he's qualified to make a judgement on tonight's game, don't you know!
  2. Southend is on a Friday right? Does that mean it's on sky?
  3. He's still a kid. Surely, you are at your fittest into your 20's....he probably just doesn't quite have the stamina as yet. Remember, you have to cover a lot of ground in centre midfield.
  4. I was surprised how well Lallana played when up with Lambert actually - maybe there's something in that. I actually quite liked Papa too....considering he's got giraffe legs, he's actually got a very good touch. He's surely only going to get better as he adapts to playing in England. I like the team Pardew put out tonight, except, with 2 left wingers on the bench, you'd have thought he could have used one of them from the start....maybe the Harding would have had better protection from the start, thus being sharper in the second half.
  5. What you are asking for is something that you can't control, no matter how many new managers or players come in. You just have to judge the performances....if the performances are good, that's all that anybody can do.
  6. The only negative thing I would say about any of our players is that Saga needs to go. He needs replacing with a small, nippy striker - just like what Brizzle had today.
  7. Yeah well just because it was sunny today doesn't mean it will be sunny for the rest of the season....
  8. Well put.
  9. Papa looked totally exhausted 5 minutes before he got subbed....he started to stray offside and slowed down considerably. Pardew was right to take him off....Saga was the only option. Same with Schneiderlin....he looked tired and Wotton was the best replacement for centre-mid.
  10. We played as well as they did. Just because we played as well, doesn't mean we have to draw though. That's sport. Just because they won, doesn't mean they played better than us. They had one swipe from 30 yards out and it went in. One kick of a ball, and they get 3 points and we get nothing. But you keep focussing on the negatives if that makes you happy.
  11. If we change the manager, we'll be in league 2 next season, guaranteed. If we stick with Pardew, we might stay up. In fact, I think we will stay up. Those calling for Pardew's head are just trying to find someone to blame, which is ridiculous.
  12. get a grip
  13. Just back from the game, having been stuck in traffic on the M3 for what seemed like forever...whoever thought it'd be a good idea to chop the M3 down to 1 lane for roadworks on a match night needs shooting. Anyway, having read a lot of what people have been posting, all I can say is: some of you lot are ****ing insane. Especially you armchair fans who have seen the result, put 2 and 2 together and have made up your own conclusions that we were poor, unmotivated, unfit, etc etc. Truly, you need to get a grip. The same people every week (Alpine) slitting their wrists because you're focussing on the result. Here's a fact about sport that a lot of you can't grasp. Actually, this is the reason why you're working in your offices and sportsmen and women are, well, playing sports for a living. In sport, you cannot control results. As tonight as shown, you can play really, really well, and still get beaten. You can't legislate for a 30 yard screamer going in in the last minute of the game. You just can't. Sometimes you just have to accept things like that happen, and move on. Calling for Pardew out is pathetic. The attitude of our fans is a large part of why we've failed as a club over the last however many years....it's a fact, whether some of you like it or not. What I witnessed tonight was a fantastic game of football. I haven't seen a game that good for a few years now. Brilliant. Yep, if we'd have taken those 2 chances in the second half and had Kelvin not made that **** up, we would have won. However, it certainly wasn't Pardew's fault. In fact, nobody was to blame. There doesn't always have to be someone to blame. We were motivated, we worked hard, we played some lovely 1 touch passes and spread the ball from side to side really well. We created more goal scoring opportunities from open play than we have in any of the games I've seen so far this season (I've been to all the home games). We did almost everything we could have done to win. It just wasn't to be. I hope Pardew is focussing on the positives with the players tonight - I'm sure he will be. It's obvious they'll be gutted, but they should also be excited that they played really well, and that the team is really beginning to gel. All you can do in sport is work hard and execute as well as possible, and the results will eventually take care of themselves. I believe Pardew and the team are doing well, judging by tonight's performance, and it really will come together before long. Judge the performance, not the results.
  14. IfI was from London I'd take you, and get you there quickly, waahaay
  15. So have I.....

  17. I'm sure he's reading this, so in effect I am. I've never driven 110, and also I've never driven 100 when the roads have been busy. Like I said, I'm safer driving 100 than some people who drive 70 and don't pay attention.
  18. It's not an excuse, it's fact. I see more near accidents on the motorways every day from people who aren't paying attention and driving poorly than I do from someone driving too fast. They manage in Germany with no speed limits on the Autobahns.
  19. I know people who have been hospitalised by old people who don't pay attention when driving. Speed doesn't kill. Incompetent drivers kill.
  20. I hope your missus doesn't get Alzheimer's then!!
  21. I would have thrown up looking at my phone all the way down :-) and my iPhone battery would never have lasted that long either!! Bloody thing!
  22. Or you get people pulling halfway into the next lane before they even look or indicate.....so busy daydreaming, it doesn't occur to them to look in their mirrors. The amount of dangerous driving I see up and down the M1 is ridiculous, and as I drive past the culprit, I look in, and they're always away with the fairies or chatting - completely oblivious. And all crawling at 70.
  23. If the results and the performances etc are the same, then the reaction can only be the same!
  24. I am a lot safer going 100 then those who crawl along. I'm concentrating on the road, whereas those crawling along at the speed limit are chatting away, not always looking at the road, playing with their radio, generally daydreaming. I do at least 20,000 motorway miles a year, and the old people dawdling are much more dangerous than those who drive too fast. Oh, and I'm not a boy racer, I don't get right up behind other cars, I don't undertake or flash people out the way. But when the outside lane is clear, I bomb on.
  25. Yeah I've learnt that one too. To be fair, I put it on cruise control at about 55....that way I'm making progress through the traffic, and I don't seem to be getting tickets! I think it's funny how thick some people are....they slow down for the cameras then speed up to 80 in between them. "Average" obviously doesn't register with some people!
