  1. Any idea whereabouts in Park Slope you'll be? If you're close to 4th Avenue it would be easiest to take the N or R subway to 33rd Street. We'll be in the shadow of the Empire State Building on 33rd Street close to the corner of 5th Ave. We'll be downstairs (Ha! Sorry about that Dan). This really is the most important game we'll being playing in recent memory.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/events/274375589316146/ At least four Saints fans showed up for the Blackpool game.
  3. Super Rickie Lambert - 30 league goals for the season, this one into the far corner driven shot.
  4. Jesus. Was getting more and more nervous. Hope this goal gets us back into the machine-like winning mentality again.
  5. Listening on 5liveExtra - nice bit of hiding behind a UK IP address and its working. Hurrah. Oooh Boro leading against Hull its getting tighter than Jordan's clothing at the top.
  6. I've been really impressed by Allan, he's running the show for the blue few.
  7. Bloody hell we look nervous. The goal helped settle things down before the wonder strike from McGuire. The blue few are pressuring every pass, and with any luck their fitness won't last beyond the 70 minute giving us time to hopefully ice a cake.
  8. Might have been smart to post this in the overseas section of the forum - yeah, yeah I know we're leapers but there are a few of us around still Not much hope for US based Saints fans yet - Fox Soccer Plus are showing Celtic vs Kilmarnock and regular Fox Soccer channel is showing commercial paid programming. There's a chance if a terrestrial UK provider is broadcasting it, they'll show it but its unlikely if there's no live feed already being streamed. However, programming changes in the schedule quite often as camera crews will be there to record it, it just depends on whether one of the distributors wants to pickup the turnaround and broadcast fees. Would love to know who decides and how they make the decision.
  9. Currently not traveling the weekend of the Blackpool game so will be heading to Legends in midtown to catch the game. Details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/156117891177880/
  10. Hate to break it to you big man, but the Nigel Adkins Twitter account is an impersonator. De Ridder and Sharp are real though.
  11. Donny are on quite a decent run of form away from home and rank 15th in the division. Picked up points against Hoof Ham and Hull. I'm never any good at picking scores or finding patterns that mean anything, but I did spot this utterly useless statistic: Doncaster have not won in front of a crowd of more than 18,750 people this season. (They have only won seven all season so it doesn't mean a lot)
  12. You could try the Black Horse Pub - 568 5th Ave (between W Prospect Park & 16th St) in Park Slope, has a decent reputation. In the city there's Legends Sports Bar, Nevada Smiths and loads of others. Download the Yelp application for phone or have a read before you head over. I'm traveling for work most weekends in April but if I'm around for the Reading game I'll probably end up in a bar watching it. Enjoy the trip.
  13. Impressive, the Nigerian internet scammers have branched out to football club opportunism....
  14. I've been using live.skysports.com/ScoreCentre/live.html for a couple of years and am utterly enamored with it for British sport; it allows you to chose games to follow and will play an alert when a goal is scored or when the final whistle blows. Live text commentary and a live table are really handy particularly on busy gamedays e.g. Saturdays. On mobile its the ESPN scorecenter, any sport and teams I chose to follow are updated live and Football League app offers live text commentary.
  15. I tend to load http://live.skysports.com/ScoreCentre/live.html and add the two or three important games into My Matchcenter so I get to hear Kammie scream "There's been a goal" when Reading or West ham score, while switching between Twitter and here. There's also a live table view which is handy.
  16. 39 Born Edinburgh Raised in Alresford (nr Winchester) First game 198? Either Sheffield Wednesday or Coventry stood behind the goal. Lost. First away Wimbledon 199? 0-0 Moved to NYC in 2000
  17. I began to follow the Redbulls in the past couple of seasons, got out to four or five games but lost interest and patience last season. Pre-season games were fun with Man city and Spurs. Will be intrigued to see what happens with Tim Ream at Bolton having watched him start as an impressive young centerback with the Redbulls and decline over the past 18 months.
  18. Thanks Lazio, this is the easiest and fastest workaround I've used.
  19. Same for me. Saints Player is the most disappointing part of supporting Saints; frequent errors in broadcasting games, simply not working and no technical support. They'll happily leap in when there are billing issues though. So. I stopped using it this season and make do with listening to Sky Sports radio and reading text updates via Twitter/Sky Sports Scorecentre etc. The Football League App for iphone on the other hand is excellent value and quality with live text commentary, highlight and goal videos etc and worth paying the annual subscription. If they offered radio commentary on it I'd happily pay more as long as the service doesn't replicate Saints Player.
  20. I've visited Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto in recent months - should have posted here to sort out a beer. Bugger. Nice to see such a strong following from our northern cousins.
  21. I'm finally not traveling this weekend, Edmonton, Ottawa, Los Angeles and Orlando trips out the way but sadly no televised Saints game to take in. I've been coping by listening to Sky Sports Radio on my phone via TunedIn app and reading twitter/match commentaries online when on the road, and watching highlights/goals on the Football League App. The 7 from 9 pts has helped. Looking forward to a make or break March, 8 games, 3 at home and only 15 total games before we know if we're back in the land of televised games on a regular basis, and testing ourselves back where we belong. How are you folk?
  22. I met John Fashanu at an U21 international back in the 90s but other than that I'm usually too focused on the game to pay any attention to what's around me, pathetically obsessed with Saints that I am.
  23. I'd have taken a point before this game. Not unhappy with that, and we sounded positive, got plenty of shots on target.
  24. Try this link: http://www.sportz-for-free.org/channel2.html Working for me in the 45 degrees in NYC.
  25. Might also be moving or posting this in the Overseas forum.
