Top work Stuart.

I think mine is at parents place still - 1970s box, old square and new school goals and Southampton and Dundee United teams from what I can remember. Will ask when I call home this week. Hours of timewasting fun! Mine also fitted on my snooker table made it much more fun. Testmatch was great and was a bugger to play if the pitch wasn't ironed first.

Guly giving all the moaners headaches again. Nice.

Morning all. Had a bit of a lie in after a few beers and playing with an inflatable remote controlled flying shark. Er... to make this Saints related, how's our flying shark RLGM? Any signs of another goal anywhere?

I thought the same thing, the image selection was hopeless and interrupted the flow of play completely. Fortunately we didn't have audio as the Utd vs QPR game took priority in the bar. Having said that I'm delighted I got to see the game even if it was on pixelated and blurry at times. Roll on the return game at SMS. Top of the league!

I'm changing my plan and heading over to FootballFactory NY - 33rd and Broadway tomorrow, as its nearer my apartment, as you lot are not entertaining walking around in 30 degree weather tomorrow - don't blame you ha! Enjoy the game, and here's to 3 pts and a lot of glum looking skates. COYR!

The more I read about Terry Paine the more I think RLGM is a better comparison than that of James Beattie that was thrown around in his first couple of seasons. If only 'keepers weren't so well protected by 'rules' he'd be a 50 goals a season striker

A good read, though a little long its hard to abbreviate exactly what it means to be a modern Saints fan and understand the rivalry. I'm 38 but grew up outside of Winchester and was only able to get into the Dell when other season ticket holders had spares, so not very often as it was during the 80s when I first really began following Saints properly. Being that far from Southampton there really wasn't much talk of the rivalry and that lot down the road were always a footnote in the local TV programs. For a while I even looked out for their score to see if they'd done well. Encounters with some of their more angry fans turned me against them. However, I do have one good friend whose a fan of theirs and despite his association with their angry mob, his insight and honest perspective is always good to listen to. Looking forward to Sunday, nervously, but really want the three points to get us closer to the Premier League, and to set right a few wrongs from past defeats.

Cotterill-eque is a figment of an overactive imagination and a dream for the average skate fan, though I still find it baffling that they appear to gain more satisfaction from our potential downfall than supporting their own team.

Hypo that poster pretty much sums up my feelings about how to stop us being effective; put two men on Lambert, one on Lallana and threaten Guly with a big of aggression and we don't really have the ability to get results. We've some talented players but when Lallana or Lambert have been out we've struggled. I'm cautiously optimistic we'll beat the skates on Sunday but am concerned. COYR!

Southampton vs Sheffield Utd - FA Youth Cup 3rd round - FT 7-0!
NY Saint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Highlights are now up on official Saints iPhone app. Looked a little damp. Negatives; Sheff United keeper let a couple of soft goals in and there were two deflected goals. Positives; the passing and movement looked fantastic, possibly helped by the slick surface, the confidence is already with this group of players, the goals kept tumbling in and our future looks fantastic. -
Hi Dan, Nevada is undergoing a minor redecoration and have moved to Webster Hall just around the corner, and yes they serve beer early. Deano - Foxsoccer.tv is showing it live and Fox Soccer Plus has it on delay at 11am. I'll probably head on over to Webster Hall for the live game.

Hmmm. Just back from the bathroom. We were 1-0 when I left my laptop. What have you lot been up to? Nicely done! More nuns being chased by Benny Hill smoking a fag please.

GRAPHIC AND RATHER UNPLEASANT SPOILER ALERT I've turned the kettle on for a coffee... will see if I can get a lucky number two working in our favour again.
-
Come on Saints. Might be worth switching out Do Prado for De Ridder - a bit of width and pace.
-
Its one defeat, happy to continue winning all of our games at home.

Sky Sports' John Salako has suggested its all Bristol City, Maynard is the main threat. COYYs.

Saints v Brighton in NYC, Nevada Smiths @ 10am

Was traveling for work, and will be away again next weekend when the Blackpool game is on. Grr. -
Totally agree on the delay. Its as though I'm unable to impact the result with my superstitions and everything playing out has happened without us. Daft really, but how I feel. I generally travel on weekends for work so will be carefully planning around these dates - or if I end up in your neck of the woods will be seeking bars for beers and games. I've Iowa tomorrow, then San Jose and Chicago coming up.
-
Glad the players have belief in our cause... must admit I began to waiver at 2-2 5 pts clear at the top and cruising. p.s. Just noticed that Brum have only played 12 games so could in theory be only 3 pts behind us once they play their catch up games.

http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/TVGamesDetail - it will probably end up on Fox soccer plus or Foxsoccer.tv p.s. You might want to change your password Dell Boy

Reading v Saints. USA TV coverage
NY Saint replied to Rut's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Ha! Yeah, that's pretty incredible. Ninth tier of English football appearing on a TV station in the US. On a now unrelated note, I thought Jo Tessem was playing for AFC Totton having left Eastleigh but it turns out it was Totton College. A friend had taken pictures of Tessem playing against my old team Alton Town. Its another good excuse to edumacate the yanks on the joys of tiered sport. After eleven years I still haven't become accustomed to supporting a team that has lost more than half their games and suddenly having nothing to play for. -

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop as well. For years when listening to games and winning I didn't change anything I was doing at that precise moment for superstitious fear of jinxing us. Its the conditioning we've experienced as Saints fans for years and now its hard to believe this fantastic situation. We've a decent squad who appear capable of achieving at least a playoff position at this point. Will be interesting to see what happens in the January window if we're still in this position. Do we start thinking about and preparing for life in the Premier League or try and bring in a few characters that won't unbalance the personalities in the squad and help us maintain the promotion prospect. I've never been in this position as a fan of any team/club/organization and its mind boggling. I've a wedding to plan for next year but its secondary to Saints. My football team will be with me forever, god forbid we ever find ourselves in the position Mr. Liebherr saved us from.
