Weird - I wrote a fairly long response but it failed to post. Here's an abbreviated version. There's four or five of us around he meet up every year or so when we're on TV. Happy to help provide a little more details but can you describe roughly what you're looking for from the area you want to move to? Here's a map to give you an idea of the neighborhoods. Upper East Side is relatively inexpensive compared to much of the city, if you want to live in Manhattan and is probably good for late 20s to late 30s couples. Upper West side is similar a little more pricey and can skew slightly older in demographics. Midtown is generally where the tourists hangout or the older people. Hells Kitchen, where I live, is younger and a little less populated given it had a rather dodgy past, and has been redeveloped. West Village is very cool and expensive - you'll get a very small apartment for not much cash but its got more of a small community atmosphere and is really pleasant. IF I had the cash I'd move there. Chelsea is predominantly gay and has many fantastic art galleries. East village and the Lower East Side is run down and an area for starving artists - generally speaking, in fact all of the above are generalisations but will help provide an outline of the city. Financial district and down town is generally quite sparse and is freezing in winter due to the wind coming off of the water. If you're thinking about commuting in an around the city public transportation is good, generally runs on time and is a bargain compared to the Tube. Subway's run pretty much everywhere in the city although the far East and far West sides of the island aren't that well catered to. Feel free to PM me or email me and I'll happily provide a little more detail. p.s. LOL. Cheers Deano - not sure how you've made that assessment but happy to meet for a beer to help dispel that myth.

Watched that with a couple of Newcy Brown Ales and enjoyed the coloured version of the game, I'd only seen it in black and white before (I think...memory is fading). One of my closest friends over here in the US, a guy that genuinely likes our football and follows Saints watching every game we have televised with me, is also attending this game. He's a big fan of college team Iowa State. Their club history follows a similar pattern of minor success followed by misery Saints have experienced so we're able to drown our mutual sorrows. He compared this game today as being akin to his college team playing American football against the Dallas Cowboys, though on this seasons showing it might be better to suggest Pittsburgh Steelers. Excited. Nervous - but would prefer to watch us win a televised game on the way to promotion. Glad Lallana isn't being risked, even if he was fit.

I don't know if this is information is still reliable given that there might be higher profile games taking place that the cameras might prefer... Posh game details from the OS A pity the Notts County game wasn't a replication of the Oldham result for your last game back in the motherland. Still, we have a couple of guaranteed wins that will be televised in the next couple of months -
We can't be this reliant on Lallana, that's dangerous. With Brighton and the Udders winning hope we can turn it round in the second half and start getting a little more organised. 1-0 Saints prediction.

Saintslist - its a privately moderated list on yahoo that is rather like Saintsforever, the predecessor to this forum without the bickering etc. Just listened to the podcast, Herbie is an 80 year old legend.
-
As so22 suggests he writes a good length match within 24 hours of each game from a fans perspective. The nice thing is Herbie's pleasant nature and genuine love of the club, and it comes across in his writing - for someone overseas that doesn't have access to the games it adds the colour and passion that I miss. Herbie was also the gentleman chosen to have his portrait painted as a water colour to rival the blue few's W******d piece.

Lovely start. Sounds like Lambert used a little guile and skill to lay it on for OXO

Yes, its a unique honour especially the smell of cleaning fluid, the mostly 'big' club fans and the rather small group of five or six of us that will drag ourselves to Nevada Smith to watch the game and exchange pleasantries. Ha. The beauty of this is being able to see us play twice in the season - having become accustomed to reading reports, occasionally listening to our commentary and watching the highlights on a phone - I hope I have the patience and ability to recognise our players. I've not actually seen half of our squad play a full game in a Saints shirt. Really looking forward to it, especially as I have a trip home planned for May... who knows I might have to change my plans to include Wembley -

Adkins didn't even take it seriously. Wonder if it has anything to do with the prize not being either big enough for the big clubs to worry about it, and if it was its only likely to be won by the big clubs. I watched the Stevenage vs Newcastle game and Leicester vs. City and both Premier league sides were trying but didn't have full strength sides out. Trying to explain the concept of little clubs playing big clubs to Americans was almost as difficult as explaining cricket. "Professional players being risked against amateurs?" They love the idea of 'drama' of a small club winning though. Can't wait to see us two weeks back to back, assuming the United game is televised.

Great result today against a legitimate rival after a lengthy delay of playing for a weeks. I heard Lambert's demeanor and confidence appeared to change with his goal, let's hope he has a second half of the season much like his full season last year. Paul Walsh, I think, was commenting on the game for Sky Radio and suggested Oxo's goal was another peach - couldn't really tell what happened though as his ability to describe games is akin to Alpine's ability to be positive, which brings me to: The shine was taken off the game a little by negativity in the match thread and Alpine in particular again. Sadly although Alpine is on my ignore list, everyone's else responses quoting him aren't and like watching a car accident I ended up reading his posts. Adrian's response whilst a little harsh is not without warrant.

Dropbox - view and share files between PC, Mac and iPhone. Soundhound - like Shazam but much better Rmaker - make ringtones for free (its a little tricky to synch them initially but read the manufacturers website and makes sense) Pandora - internet based musical jukebox based on a song or artist you suggest Convertbot - useful for converting measurements etc Light - great flashlight for iPhone 4 iMapmyride - workout mapping tool zippo lighter - pointless fun

Just watched the highlights - fantastic stuff, hope the girlfriend isn't throwing up tonight so I can actually watch it live via a dodgy internet connection. What has crawled up Mitchell Johnson's posterior? He seemed proper upset with Cookie.

Have a read of the comments section of the article about Ox and the P*mpey fans talking about how they would send their offspring to Saints academy, and then have a listen to or read Cortese's comments about developing our training facilities further. If it makes me a gullible to believe all the NC stuff that's coming out at the moment I'm not that bothered as I quite like this positive feeling of optimism. Its been a few years since I heard anything about Crewe and their amazing success of bringing through players, and wondered what their actual facilities are like or if its down to quality coaching... Found this link to an article that references the top youth training academies we're not listed but NC's vision is that we will be. Not sure whether I should s****** or maintain a healthy level of skepticism over the last ambition.

Yeah I noticed that as well, he's fully aware of who or what organisation initiated the rumour, glad he didn't talk any further about it or give them any spotlight. This about SFC and nothing else. The interview was positive and regardless of whether its all PR puff or not it will hopefully make people want SFC to do well and work towards the common goal of getting us promoted. Happy with this interview.

If you want a rough but consistent Internet live streaming of the game you could do worse than watch it on http://www.everythingon.tv/ - usually skysports1. I might be using that to watch the Posh game in February. You could also try the Curryleaf in the East village - decent curry and an owner that loves cricket. I got to watch the 3rd day of 1st test there prior to a date night to watch Harry Potter with the girlfriend - had a big case of homesickness the following day... lol.
-
Ha! Yup you're right, I've no idea what I'm talking about - just watched it again on my phone and even the first effort he had saved was also from a Holmes cross. What will it take for Rickie to come good again? A string of penalties? Bribe? How's his work rate been? Its difficult to tell from the coverage I see on my phone's app.
-
Another Guly header from a Lallana cross - same as Posh?
-
Nice start from the stripe, a little concerned that Bart gets clattered everytime he plays poor lad. COYR. Is Nige trying to play Lambert out of his drought? Someone on Saintslist was speculating that he might be one of the players carrying a niggling injury that Adkins had mentioned recently, apparently not if he's playing in an 'easier' game.
-
Yes, you may need to play with the audio settings a little to make it more or less prominent but it works really well.
-
Lovely stuff. Let's get rid of the negativity as well and score a third. Might need to download a chant for Oxo for Fifa 11 once you lot on the terrace have one sorted out

Top work, that's fixed it.
