There is still a long way to go this season, plenty of points to be won by us and lost by others. We have a good manager in charge who seems to know what he's doing. He's had a good week behind him where he's been able to stamp his ideas on the team i'm sure, so if the 2nd half of the Colchester game is anything to go by, then we are going to be great to watch.

back out of the bottom 3. 5-1 what on earth has happened to Leicester, what a shocking football team.

Wouldn't put it past milan/portsmouth.

Alonso was good, not sure why i didn't mention him. He made a profit from that one tbf to him, bought for £9, sold for £32m. Masch was decent, but i know alot of Liverpool fans that felt he started off well (first 6 months) and was then never the same player. But still, 4 good signings isn't a great hit-rate after spending something like 250m.

Liverpool's situation is an interesting one, and a big reminder to everyone that ''big clubs'' are as vulnerable as everyone else. Rafa wasted too much money, it's as simple as that. If you look at their squad today, barley any of his initial signings are left - because frankly none of them were ever good enough. The only 2 buys he made that have proven themselves to be top signings are Riena and Torres, but a strike rate of 2 signings out of god knows how many is not good enough. Players like Kromkramp, Josomi, Garcia, Dossena, Reira all joined for big fee's and have been complete crap for them - and sold for a loss within a year. You then look at the oither players he signed (and they're still there), Lucs, Babel, Ngog, Kyut - all totalling over £20m worth of transfer fee's, but they've simply not been good enough. They've been pulled through by the likes of Gerrard and Torres, without those 2 they are an average mid-table premiership team and when you look at the money rafa has spent, it's not good enough - he should have built a stronger squad than they have and he's also a reason why they are in such dire financial troubles. It's a shame that Roy has been lumbered with it, he shouldn't get blamed or criticised yet - he's having to work with complete tosh and they will be no where near the top 4 this season. I also expect them to sell Torres for big money in january. Without new investment they will continue to slide, and slide....

There are stories circulating that Nicola and the liebherr's are actively looking to sell the club, hence the lack of any transfer activity. although i'm not too sure about it myself.

tbf he was/is convinced that Gillett will become an england international.

Agree with you, he's so bright and aware and is a breath of fresh air in the world of management if im honest. I doubt he's really active on the player recruitment front, i don't think it's right that he is anyway - he needs to learn the players he has before he adds more to it, then he can learn and understand the weaknesses better (and get more out of the players we have). In a way, isn't it good that we haven't seen signings yet.. as it suggests to me that they'll be decided by Adkins and when he wants them. Not by anyone else. And also i think the playoffs are a certainty, if we can get on a run the auto's are still not out of reach but time is running out.

Sorry, but that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read in my life. i know he's a bit hot-headed and has a slight ego, but what you posted there is pure fabricated fantasy.

Why does nothing ever go to plan/normally with this club? although i'm not too sure on the Cortese wants out rumour, as it's not really his investment - it's in the hands of the Liebhers and the rumour seems to have started from a taxi driver. I think you'll always see stories like this popup when things aren't going well.
