apparently a group of palace fans have protested by breaking into the club and smashing up the offices. excellent, that showed them. i reckon we could see the first ''big'' club to go pop here.

Statement CPFC2010 – 31st May 2010 As you are aware we are endeavoring to acquire both Crystal Palace Football club and Selhurst Park. Everyone would agree Selhurst Park is pivotal to the long-term future of the club and CPFC2010 have always made it clear that they will not proceed without securing it. We have now reached agreement with Agilo regarding their debt against the club and did have what we thought was an agreement with Bank of Scotland who are the major creditor of Selhurst Park Ltd. Subsequent to this agreement we have been sent a contract that does not reflect this agreement and is unworkable. CPFC 2010 value Selhurst park as a football ground but have agreed to pay a significant premium on that. We also recognize that a property developer may pay even more for the ground on the chance that they may be able to change its use sometime in the future. The bank have made it clear that they want to help the club and don’t want to sell to a property developer now but are worried we may sell the land for development in the future, making a profit and embarrassing the bank in the process. In order to put their minds at rest we have also agreed to an ‘anti embarrassment’ clause that allows the Bank to see a further return if we realize greater value from the ground in the future. In essence we need clarity on what that amount should be and how it is calculated. At the moment it seems the Bank want to make unlimited return in the future even if that value is created on the back of the success of the football club or money we have invested in a new infrastructure and not in appreciation of the value of the land. We believe that the maximum they should make is the difference between what we will pay for the land as a football ground and what a property developer will pay now as a development opportunity plus interest. We are dealing totally through intermediaries and its very frustrating, as we don’t think the bank competently understand the situation we are in, or the urgency. If we cannot reach agreement soon (we have a deadline of 3pm 1st June) Agilo have made their intention clear to sell the players and liquidate the club. Please be assured we are doing everything we can to make this happen but as we sit today the future of Crystal palace hangs in the balance and is very much in the hands of a person in a bank in Scotland whom we have never met and it seems we are not allowed to speak to. We note the new governments commitment to sport, particularly sport in the community, Bank of Scotland is currently government owned, as such we would urge the new Prime Minister to intervene personally to resolve the situation or see a club supported by many thousands with 100 year History consigned to the scrapheap.

St Etienne interested in Schneiderlin

I have to disagree with that bit, lambo was by miles. 22 assists and 37 goals says it all. The rest of it i agree with. -

2-2.5m, they'd have to double their offer. Selling him for just £1m would be silly, because we bought him for "up to" 1.2m. I wouldn't say his value has reduced in the last 2 years. -
i'm sure we'll hear something soon, there are lots of things happening behind the scenes with this Halo company and also the academy project is being accelerated. The season tickets will happen in good time, but i think NC see's laying the foundations for everything else a little more important atm. check all the new job posts being advertised on the saints website, that's what's taking up the time at the moment.

if he was a striker it would be laughable, but he's not. He's not in the team to score goals so i think it's harsh he's hit with that stick. If he goes we will not attract anyone with as much potential, or as talented as him until we're back in the premiership. So it would be a massive blow. -

they'd have to pay alot more than that to have any chance. -

white's gone, and Chamberlin is a central midfielder. we really need decent backup for lambert, pard's has alluded to it himself. -
totally. Torres would struggle to score more than 5 goals in L1 .... and alps - seriously? England would do us comfortably, why is this even a debate? it's mental.

as much as their rise is fantastic, it shows how drastic our drop has been. Pleased for them, they deserve it, but can't quite get my head around watching us play dagenham and redbridge in a league game...
-
lol nice to see we're ready for our quarter final penalty shoot-out.
-
tbf that ball did just bounce up as he went to hit it.
-
lol nice one Claridge - totally going up in my estimations.
-
i wasn't referring to the academy as such, but in the last few years we have missed out on some real good gems in the lower leagues, simply because our scouting has not been good enough. (coupled with a lack of money)
-
it's not realy embarrasing. it's idle speculation when there isn't too much else going on. it's not causing anyone a problem even if it could be a load of rubbish. lighten up!

good spot, prior to previous season ticket annoucements the ticket system has always been taken offline for a little bit.

Good player, wouldn't suprise me. We've been after him for almost a year and we must have scouted him all last season. -
they did have a good acadamy (and probably still do), bringing through the likes of Johnson, Onouha, Richards, Wiess etc... but i think they can kind of see their work being sidelined, with the first team just being assembled from europes best.
-
To me it looks like NC is trying to model us on barca. We'll never be as big or as famous, but we're following the same methods they have followed for years.
-
We're going to be in such a good position in a couple of years once this structure bears fruit. I know i'm probably not the only one that's been frustrated at clubs like Wolves getting good players like Kightly from nowhere....and we're left with the ryan smith's of the world. that will be totally different now, we'll be one of the first clubs in the queue for the best young talent.
-
the article states that we'll have to come to an agreement with the greek club too. Similar to what happened with the Punchon deal (as his mk don's loan was cut short)

http://www.soccer365.com/english_premiership/story_26510195119.php another link, this was from y/day. (it's good that they still class us in the premiership section of their site!)

tbf since the end of the season, this forum has been crying out for a classic speculation thread like this. makes things more interesting.
-
cheers. not sure what to make of this - obviously some contact has been made and pard's did say we appointed a few european scouts last summer, so we're obviously aware of players avaliability.
-
i'm sure it doesn't work like that. Agents will make a player aware that a club is poised to make a bid. clubs usually sound out an agent prior to making an official bid (ok, it may be classed as tapping up but it happens everywhere)
