  1. I don't think he ever mentioned having them in before that game specifically. here's the quote Pardew said: “He’s shown in pre- season that he has the pace and the directness that we’re missing because (Michail) Antonio obviously is not here. “He will come under competition I hope soon but at the moment he is there or thereabouts. “At half-time against Cherries, I said that in the first half I thought he could have done better, even though he’s only 16.''
  2. I think we need to wait for confirmation on that, and it's fair that we pause for a bit. It may have to be loans, like Papa and Antonio were. We don't know what the future holds for us long-term.
  3. There's a thread like this on most football forums at the moment. The market is quiet, apart from the odd free transfer or nomial fee, man city are the only club spending money. Until this changes and other clubs further down the leagues start showing their hand, then we'll have a stalemate. I expect us to wait for loans if im honest.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JjjwQ41W98 what a fantastic tribute.
  5. He looked better in LM against Plymouth, and struggled at the end of the game when he moved to LB. He was utterly awful by all accounts at LB against Bournemouth and was subbed at HT, replaced by Harding. so i don't think harding is under threat just yet....he's going to be used as more of an attacking winger for us imo.
  6. that comment has just been demonstrated!
  7. Bale is probably one of the best attacking left-sided players in Europe at the moment.
  8. I'll be very surprised if Palace let him go, he's a main feature in their starting team.
  9. i'm sure he is, he updated his Mali website earlier this year with him wearing his saints scarf. I always felt that was a lovely touch and showed what a genuine fella he was.
  10. I am sure they will. They also attended games with him, including wembley, so i'm sure they are full aware of his passion and our passion. Saints were a big deal for him and he would have wanted to ensure it would be secure with people he trusts.

maybe a little too much, but what about re-doing the owts song? ''oh when the saints go marching in, we're gonna winnn it for markus, oh when the saints go marching in''
  12. I saw that, it was a really nice read. I hope he can now look down and see how many people he did make happy, I'm sure that's all he really wanted to do.
  13. Exactly the case. It's not so much us not wanting to buy players, the market is just not there at the moment.
  14. ahhhh, sad. he loved his little adventure with us didn't he? he was always beaming with that really genuine, heartwarming smile.

Fantastic idea alps, let's make it the slogan to our season. WIFM!
  16. have a word with yourself.
  17. I am a bit suprised by this, but it is a fantastic gesture by all concerned
  18. seriously isn't the time for this.
  19. in the guardian aarticle
  20. Maybe his family wish to keep it private? haven't got a problem with it.
  21. I would imagine officials in the club were aware of his condition as it seems he has been ill for a while.
  22. Every picture i see of him is bringing a tear to my eye too, as he's smiling in every single one of them. He loved it, and i'm so happy he got to see us win at Wembley. Just a shame we couldn't get prompted for him, but we'll do that this season in his memory. ''win it for markus'' The world has lost a great man today, it's not just about the club.
  23. What a truly great man he was.
  24. Bolton it is, decent test.
  25. Don't think this thread is a good idea. Let them talk to themselves, Markus doesn't deserve any of that. Let's just focus on saints.
