some snippets about him from wycomes OS match reports - ''the goal came in some style when Matt Phillips produced a masterclass in wingplay to dash past a host of Millwall defenders and give Strevens the simple task of tapping home from six yards.'' ''The goal prompted a response from the home side and they began to compete with the Lions, with the pace of Matt Phillips in particular looking capable of creating openings.'' '' And it worked, all thanks to the majestic work of Matt Phillips on the wing. The England Under-19 international danced through a host of yellow shirts after bursting goalwards from the touchline and laid the ball on a plate for Strevens to tap home his first goal for the club from six yards.'' -
I went on an investigation with them a year ago, right at the start of their group (the red lion in boldre) haven't been on one since though - pleased that they've managed to get all the exposure they have. Really good bunch of people.
-
It wasn't so much the goals he scored, it was the ''pass and move'' style of his play. Our midfield atm is too static and sideways.
-
I know it's only youtube, but this guy looks like he could be the missing cog in our midfield. Looks way too good for L1.
-
They were good squad players, but that's all they were. They weren't ''last'' season. Last season was about Lambo, Lallana, Morgan, Fonte, Harding - without them we can forget it. Luckily they're still here! Antonio and Papa were impact players, good impact players yes - but i still believe that both are replaceable, at the end of the day it was their pace that made them a threat more than their technique and technical ability. I think we are going slightly OTT on both players if im honest .
-
He is not a first team signing, or a Pardew signing - he will be part of the reserve squad.
-
Blackpool are going to sign him i believe.

Can't see the Harte rumour being true, Pard's has always said he likes tall/dominant players down the spine of the team. When he came here he got rid of all the ''short'' players and replaced them with 6ft + players. Harte is a very average and small CB - as shown in the JPT Final, he's no better than what we have and we have other positions that need more attention.
-
Rochdale will be very tricky. They looked fantastic against birmingham tonight, only lost because of a non-penalty.- but i fancy us in the away games as we won't have some much pressure on us in the ground, i expect our setup to exploit the home team.
-
he's got access to Corteses and Pardews calender, as he's told me a few times that they're not looking for anyone and they are just sat around on their hands.
-
Doesn't matter. People not at the game, living in a different country, have a much better perspective on the current state of the team.

The rumours are that they were asking upwards of £1m which is real madness, we've made a couple of bids of around 300-500k apparentley but they've been rejected. i wouldn't personally pay more than 300k for him. -
4-0 it is then, crouch hat-trick and all 4 goals have been assists from bale. utter class, there's no one better in Europe at the moment from his position.
-
It was great to hear that from AP - he is doing the right things, we just need that break.

He was set to join bristol city at one point, but then Coppell quit and it died away. -
ITK? hope so, cracking young player. but sky sports have just broke the news on their transfer clockwatch that we're tracking Ian Harte, which i find bizzare as that's the last situation we need to strengthen. Unless seabornes injury is quite bad? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6334898,00.html

For some bizarre reason, we're tracking Ian Harte. ''Sky sports understands...'' http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6334898,00.html -
I've been pleasantly surprised by Martin, when we signed him i didn't expect him to really be involved in the first team for a while, but he's forced himself right in there and has looked totally comfortable whenever he's played. He reads the game well, challenges well and heads well. He's just a general solid defender, no frills at all - he just defends and i like that. I wouldn't be surprised to see him start at the weekend.
