  1. hopefully this is in response to the added competition. it's what he's needed for ages.
  2. Solent seemed to be ''ITK'' that it's a wide player. but they were only speculating on the possible names.
  3. Lambert is lacking fitness and sharpness, which affects our general play and contributes to our ''bluntness' But i believe the main reason we're struggling to score is because we're not opening teams up down the sides, we're trying to walk it through the middle where it seems to get very congested. All the talk on solent last night was that our new player this week is going to be a winger, but they couldn't reveal any names. Watch the goals flow once we start getting wide down the flanks...
  4. Sounded like a great workout, Bolton could only hit us on the break really. We had them pinned in for the majority of the game, we're just lacking that killer touch at the moment.
  5. very good point dd, they've needed proper competition for a while.
  6. What a joke the Italian FA are, they did exactly the same with papa.
  7. Pardew alluded to exactly this in his last press conf. ''we don't want players looking for their last pay day, they have to be motivated to win for us'' makes me think we looked at Butt, then said no thanks.
  8. '' Danny Ward..... .........from Bolton. Played for Swindon last season apparently. I have just been sent a text from a good source that he is joining us on a season long loan this week. Any good?'' from another forum - no idea if true or not, but he's a name i mentioned earlier.
  9. I don't see what's odd about it. Dorrans rejected West ham to play in the prem with WBA. Not sure what's dodgy about that?
  10. No one is leaving.
  11. If those two were really interested he'd have gone there, no question. I think it was earlier in the window there were a few talks b etween those clubs, but it didn't come to anything. The OS will obviously try and milk this! but he's still seems a good signing for this level.
  12. Danny ward? plays for bolton, stared at this level for Swindon lsat year and Owen Coyle said this morning that he wants to loan him out. He can play on either flank or as a striker, he's very quick and tricky - not that tall though.
  13. You are the one wetting yourself over a lack of signings! jesus.
  14. Sounds good, i quite like the views coming from these italian based media people - they'll know exactly what he's about. Looking forward to seeing him, seems like he's exactly what we wanted. Just fingers crossed on the injury front.
  15. I'm completley baffled at how he's questioning that signing.
  16. Pards confirmed on Saints player that it will be his strongest avaliable team, as the likes of Lambo, Punch and Adam need the games. If clearance is received, Gully will play a part.
  17. I've just listened to Pard's interview on saints player and he knows pretty much everything about the player, down to his height and weight! He knows how he plays, his strengths and what he'll bring to us. It's probably a cortese instigated deal due to his contacts, but i'm pretty sure Pardew had a good look at this guy before giving it the ok - and he seems genuinely chuffed that he's got him.
  18. Quite an interesting line in Pard's pre-match interview on saints player. Something along the lines of - ''Punch, Adam and Lambert aren't quite there yet - and we're suffering because of that. They need 3 of 4 games to get to speed, but we may need to bring in someone of a similar level that will push them for their place - and hopefully we'll do that before Saturday''
  19. we will sign more alps, don't panic.
  20. It might be a ''gamble'' but he's a safe gamble, becuase he's not tied to us until we decide to get him signed. He's on ''trial'' until january and it will be interesting to see how he settles. This isn't the last signing either, we'll have another one in before saturday according to Pard's. Watch the window get interesting now.
  21. why? think about it alps. He's a brazilan that's been playing in the slow paced world of italian football for 8 years, if he comes here and struggles to adapt to the pace he can go back in January with no harm done to us. If we had signed him for 800k on a 3 year deal we could be lumbered with a player that isn't right for this league. The deal protects us.
  22. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6331374,00.html are we one of the clubs, possibly? we were linked a few weeks ago and Pardew signed him for Charlton.
  23. i think it's just bad lighting, you can see the shadow on pard's top.
  24. that's confirmation for me
  25. i think that's what we've done. according to some reports reading wanted over £1m for Antonio which is complete and utter madness this other guy (Prado) is more experienced, probably isn't as quick, but is around 300k cheaper.
