  1. Their chairman sounds like a right nut. Didn't think he'd done too bad a job there, they've had a couple of heavy defeats but they're still right in the race and they'll always score goals.
  2. It's one of those ''sky sports understands'' things, but looks quite possible.
  3. At least this gives Owen a chance to tour the facilities before he signs for us.
  4. That's what they were saying before they played Leeds last year. Let's hope we catch their players as complacent as their fans.
  5. Why does he need to be persuaded to spend even more??? why do we need to spend lots and lots anyway??
  6. Even though we're now a league lower, I expect us to put up much more of a game than we did a few years back. I think we've got a better team for a start. You never know what can happen in this competition, Leeds actually went to old trafford last year and caught them off guard...no reason why we can't do that at home.

    Do Prado.

The next thing we need to do in January is either get him signed on loan for the rest of the season, or tie him up on a perm. deal. It would be gutting to lose him now that he's finally getting going here.
  8. Nothing wrong with it, but signing too many when it's not really necessary can also have detrimental effects on the team structure. At the moment Adkins has the rotation and squad setup perfectly - it's working bang on. The last thing I think we need in this window is a mass influx of new players like last January. And I believe this squad could more than enough hold their own in the top half of the CC.
  9. You must have missed it, but the skates were thrashed by brighton by all accounts
  10. If Punch stays that's the wide area's sorted. I'd still like to see us bring in another forward though, but other than that our squad depth and quality really takes the **** in this league.
  11. Top class player. So lucky to have him at L1 level. We have some stunning young talents at this football club, if we can keep them and progress through the leagues the premership could be fun...

    Bart

I think it's crazy he's stayed here as long as he has, it's madness that we've got 2 keepers of this quality in L1. I remember last year Bart went to barnsley on loan and he starred during that period. I'm sure he'll be our number 1 at some point, he deserves it tbh.
  13. Looks like alpines trying to make himself look silly again. Winning games = good. Cup or not, if you win the games it can only breed confidence.
  14. uh oh, is alpine wrong again
  15. Confirmed team: Bialkowski. Richardson, Seaborne, Martin, Harding. Puncheon, Hammond©, Schneiderlin, Lallana. Lambert, Barnard
  16. I think with Hammill it was a case of being here at the wrong time. When he joined it wasn't the best of environments with GB kind of giving up, financial uncertainty and a relegation battle looming. I think if we had him back now in a winning, confident and settled setup we'd see a different player. He's always had the talent, but it wasn't the right environment for him at the time.
  17. No idea, just going by what THEVMAN says above - he's never been wrong about team news. Weston saint also alluded to a ''surprise'' selection.
  18. Puncheon starts, wow. Maybe we're keeping him? Would save us having to spend money on a winger tbf.
  19. According to footballforums.net, Palace have enquired ''quoting 1 million" - what a sale if he goes for that fee.
  20. This also sends out an enormous message to the rest of our team (i.e Alex) and any potential signings....
  21. that's amazing news. great play adam - could turn into a legend here, no doubt. love that pic too...class
  22. Agree with your last thought - they had their chance last January and we're now under a totally different regime manager wise, and they were both ''pardew'' targets. Personally i think Chappers adds that competition to our midfield we lacked, we're pretty strong there now.
  23. I don't think we can rely on Plymouth tbh - utter **** team. BWP will be out of the door v soon and they'll be left with nothing.
  24. mental view, sorry.
  25. I feel loyalty towards Harding as he has never really put a foot wrong with us, a steady-eady if you like. I'd still put him as my first choice. Dickson is the more exciting of the pair but I see no issue in using them how we have been - all 4 full backs are being rotated pretty well actually, being utilised for their strengths in the right games.
