If Rocket's 2nd' snippet is to be believed, we've put another bid in for Danns - but it's been rejected again, apparently Palace have said they will not sell their stars for less than £4m???? I've heard they've been rescued, but i didn't think they were in that strong a financial position.

People aren't forgetting, the majority of us realize that we have just played a friendly match that actually means nothing, in the grand scheme of things. It's called having a bit of perspective. You say winning well in pre-season helps to start a season? i'll go back to what i dug out yesterday, 12-0 against Svarstad - then we open up the campaign losing 4-1 to Crystal Palace. You cannot judge the potential success of a promotion push on a couple of low-key pre-season friendly's. The plymouth game will be a competley different kettle of fish.

I disagree with you here Legod, it's an attitude like that which will run clubs into meltdown. I'd much prefer to be sensible and pay what a player is worth than over the odds just to get the deal closed. All clubs value their players above their true sale value at this time of the season, things change as we get closer to the end of the window.

agreed, I'll try and bring it back on topic. I think Pard's performed well last season, there were moments you questioned certain aspects of his decision making but most of the time they were proven to be the correct decision. His signings last season were faultless, maybe only Mellis the one having a question mark over his name (and he was only a short loan). This season i think it's just a case of carry on as you were in the grand scheme of things, but i still think there is room for slight improvement in certain areas such as away tactics etc. Overall i think he's overwhelmingly the right man and hasn't done anything wrong to warrant any major criticism. He's one of the reasons why we are hot favorites for the title.

it's such a stupid thing to say though. Last season was never about promotion, your pre-season prediction last year proved that. We will be promoted this year with or without AP.

Apparently, people who don't attend matches have a better understanding of the team and the performance. This was a comment from our esteemed alpine not so long ago. If we had won all our pre-season games his presence on these forums would be non-existant. It's really quite odd. When we do well, he's no where to be seen, but as soon as something goes wrong (We drew freidnly FFS) he's out in force. He'll deny this time and time again and come up with the stupid reason that there is less to debate when we're doing well. No alpine...there's less negative things to debate...but plenty of other positive stuff to talk about.

What a surprise, the normal culprits going OTT over a result that means sod all. Remember our pre-season under Jan and co 2 seasons ago and that fantastic performance v West Ham? That really set the tone for the season I'm sure you'll all agree. What about that huge 12-0 win over Svarstad, in the buildup to the 2008/2009 season? Again, we really showed Crystal Palace what we were made of that opening day. Draw, Lose, Win - these games do not matter. We will get promoted this year, i'm sure of it and all these stupid OTT posts will be highlighted for how idiotic they are.

He'd be a good signing, but i'm not sure we need to blast a load of cash on him, we only need a decent player to backup lambo (i.e henderson). Would rather it went on a quality CM.

true, but i think they use Tyson as a wide man more than an out and out striker. They already have alot of strikers so could probably afford to let garner go.

I think forest want to make sure they get their targets first, before letting players go. Sensible way of going about it.

Tyson would be a great addition. He can also play as a wide man, from either the left or the right hand side...so would add compeititon/options to the 3 areas pard's has so far stated he's worried about. As someone has said, if he's someone Pard's really wants we'll get him. I think Forest want to make sure they get who they want first, before letting anyone else go. ...that's why i think our moves may come towards the end of the window.
