I wondered WTF happened there, as his transfermarkt history confused the hell out of me. That makes a bit more sense then. Bit like Villa signing Archer back and then selling him to us, all to make a profit I guess.
-
Are you having a break down?
-
Maybe you're thinking of Thierry Small? We got him from Everton as a highly rated kid, he had a loan at Port Vale and then up in Scotland, didn't ever kick on here and left for Charlton to work under Europe's greatest manager. Charlton sold him in the summer to PNE.
-
He's a winger who was shipped out on loan by Lens last season to St Pauli, 7 goals and a couple of assists in the Bundesliga. He's not small for a winger, exactly the sort of profile Still would favour. He has played under still, but was mainly used as a sub in the season he had him. Interesting option as he'd be known by Still and our scouts pretty well.

Wissa has gone all Morgan Schneiderlin
-
To be fair, he did smack the post against Northampton from far out. I think he has got it in his locker, that Bree goal was a bit of a WTF moment though. There's no way Bree fits Stills style imo, not even close. He didn't even fit Martin's style. He's your typical PNE type steady Championship clogger, we need better than him. I'd be totally up for a new RB.

They're in different leagues in player and club senses I'd have to say. JWP was on the edge of England for a while, genuinely deserved to get picked more often I'd say. He was a regular captain for the U21's too. Flynn has never and will never be in the conversation for International Football. He's too limited for a higher level.

All seems very past tense. It's done.
-
Not heard him on the Womens games, he does a lot of Championship games though.
-
He tries too hard with all his antidotes, makes me cringe sometimes. It doesn't roll naturally anymore, you can tell he's trying too hard these days. His best commentary came in the Wolves 0 - 6 Southampton game when he used to do the ITV Championship coverage. I quite like Seb Hutchinson, he's prob my favourite commentator right now.

Forest are racking up the transfers. Spent £100m last summer, currently on approx. £180m this summer. Their sales are a bit smelly too, some pretty average/squad players going for some big fee's (their Greek GK going to Newcastle for £30m for e.g). Some fiddling going on there methinks to avoid PSR crap, but fair play to them if they can wiggle around it. We need to do the same.
-
There was a pathway here though, he was given minutes in the early pre-season when we were relegated. Martin would have included him in the Championship squad for sure, and he'd have featured in the cups. (as per Dibling). So if it was down to pathway only, he had an opportunity here - more so after we'd been relegated.
-
As always will be the case, the pathway stuff is just nonsense. Kemi Doyle is another one, went to Brighton for a supposed pathway. He's never played for Brighton, 2 years there, and I think he's on loan at L1 Reading now. It's always about money. Always.

It may end up looking last minute, but that isn't always the true story. A lot of wheels are put in motion weeks and weeks in advance, we're just waiting for other things to fall - when they do fall, we'll have all our ducks in a row and we can move. But given the nature of how transfer windows roll, it's probably going to be a case of waiting until the end for everything to fall into place (outside of our control), so it may look last min but it genuinely isn't.

I don't think football is as black and what as ''Target A stalled, now let's start on Target B' - we'll be working on multiple at the same time. Some not as good, some just as good. There is an assumption from social media that if we can't get player A over the line, it means we're wasting time when we could be looking at another - that's not the case, we'll have multiple hands in the pie all at the same time. My concern with hanging on this Eduard deal is that he really doesn't seem sold on coming here. If he was, he'd have been here by now. That's why I think the club should forget this one, as we could lay down a lot of money for someone who turns out to be fairly uncommitted when the going gets tough.
-
Stoke seem to be getting excited because they've won 2 games against league fodder. Let's just remember our collective fears - we don't want to become the next Stoke. They're just a bog standard outfit.
-
I would assume, and hope, we've moved on from this long ago. Not sure why Saint_Lamden was so confident.
-
I thought we'd be all over that. He's exactly the type of CM we're missing. Realistic, rather than focusing on Sprtsayen
-
£6-7m I think.
-
We don't know if we don't have one yet, Downs has been here 10mins. Impossible to say how he'll work out.
-
Sorry, forgot the GK - yes, that's also a priority too. That would also be a position that goes ahead of ST.
-
I don't disagree either, but it's probably going to be a toss up on other positions as I can't see us making that many additions. We're clearly being careful with the cash. If we want perfection, we'd get a RB, CM, LW, RW 10 and ST. But we know that won't happen, so we just need to work out what's more important. We currently have no wide players, or 10's, so that would be more important to me, and maybe RB given that Fraser was there today.
-
Sigh. I can't be arsed to see this drag out all week, to the inevitable conclusion of him signing a new contract with them. Count me surprised if it goes any other way! I'd be delighted if it does.
-
The next couple of weeks are going to be interesting. We need to make at least 4 signings in that time. A RB, GK - reluctant to say cover, as I want someone to push Bazunu, a 10 and a wide player. If I'm greedy, I'd say another CM and another wide player - but realistically, I think we'll get 4 in the door. Maybe 3 loans towards the end, and one cash signing (maybe that Leo guy)
-
Just like Fraser, both limited technically, but first and foremost all we want as fans is someone who works their arse of for the side. Both of those guys did that today. We know they're not the answer long-term, and so do they, but they're really professional players and I think it's important to have that sorts around the place.
