Brentford, as expected, look to be in real trouble this year. It's a good season for one of Sunderland or Leeds, they've got a chance. I'm discounting Burnley immediately as they're so far off, it will be a rinse and repeat for them. The other two have had a go.

There there is absolutely no point in making that post on an English forum. Translate it before you post it, or don't bother. Waste of time.

Because MLG can't be arsed. On Friday, President Sergey Galitksy 🇷🇺 and Eduard Spertsyan 🇦🇲 met. The player was informed that the offer from Southampton 🏴 had been rejected by Krasnodar 🇷🇺. Saints FC ultimately made a second offer worth €14 million plus bonuses. The second offer should be accepted by the Russian club. The president apparently does not want to hold on to his players if they want to leave. Eduard Spertsyan could play his last match tonight with Krasnodar

I do have the same niggle. I don't think we can really rely on Stewart, so we'll only have Downs for most of the season as a focal point. Be interesting to see if we do anything there.
 -
He doesn't play 4-3-3 in that sense. So the players we have, don't really work for what he wants. He's having to make do, but I see a lot of common sense in his approach which is somewhat refreshing. (i.e not picking BBD)

Armstrong and Robinson are not natural wingers. They are inside forwards, different thing. Fraser, yes, he's a touch line hugging player who will stretch the pitch - which is what Still wants. We don't have enough of those sorts.
 -
Yeah, that's a good result. You can clearly see that both teams are still finding their way, it was disjointed from both if we're honest. Error-strewn from both sides. It's too early to come to massive conclusions, but what Impressed me is that we didn't end up camped in at the end of the game, we actually came forward and used some of the space ourselves. Quarshie has good physical qualities, but he can't play football - so that's a concern. Early days I guess, but the basics of touch, control and passing evades him. Armstrong to his credit battled his arse off, but you can see clearly where our problems sit. We are relying on the wing backs to give us width, which they do to a point (and it got us the goal), but we really need some proper wide attackers stuck up top giving us an option when we move forward. Tough first away game I think, and we navigated it quite professionally. But lots of work to do, as we're nowhere near yet.

Bit of an even game really, too sides clearly building into the season. They'll still have advantage as they're at home, so we'll see how the 2nd half pans out. Quarshie has great physical attributes, but he can't seem to play football which is a concern. He's been our biggest problem area, on his own, in the first half. Fraser proving his usefulness from a RWB role with the cross for our goal, but it was the quick thinking and touch of Fernandes which made that happen. That allowed us to overwhelm them at speed. Without that touch, we'd have ambled up field and the momentum would be gone. Still lots to improve on, still big gaps of quality missing in our team.
 -
I wouldn't, he's a pub player with the touch of a drunk oap. It looks like Still sees the same.

I don't agree, if we stop here today then the squad isn't good enough as an overall collective - sure, some good individuals but we'll be forced to accommodate formations due to a lack of tactical options It's absolutely critical that we sign wide players and attacking midfielders before September. The right signings in the next few weeks could put us into the auto conversation. If everything stayed as it was right now, playoffs at a push.
 -
I'm a bit confused by the comments on this thread - I agree with peoples thoughts generally on Armstrong, but just look at the available options for today - who else? This makes me wonder if we need to bring in another CF, as once again it's shown that we cannot rely on Stewart. I think it's quite a kick for someone like BBD, hopefully he'll realise he needs to be out of here before the end of the window as Still obviously doesn't trust him (none of us do really) Fraser at WB (i'm sure that's where he will sit) is also a kick for Suguwara, but it also underlines why we're looking at other RWB's as I don't think Still is particularly happy with the options. We're starting with Fernandes, Robinson, who are inside forwards. The width will have to be provided by the full backs, which is why we've gone 3 at the back to accommodate. Otherwise we'd have been too narrow. I can see what he's doing, and he's using the tools he has to build what he feels is closest to what he needs. It won't look like this in October. All this shows to me is how much work we need on this squad before the end of the window, we don't have any real wingers.

He's got his own show on Sky this year, he fronts a review show on a Sunday apparently. (if there have been multiple games on a sunday) Talk about rewarding incompetence. I wish I could be as bad and ill-disciplined in my job and get constant leg ups.
 -
He's been a sub in most of those apps, made a few more starts last season - but even their fans acknowledge he was a squad player. Being a squad player doesn't mean you don't make tons of appearances, you're just not seen as a first 11 starter. To get £45m for him is crazy times.
 -
Bournemouth have somehow fleeced Brentford for £45m for their squad player, Outuarra
 -
Yeah I'd say so. I hope we move on BBD to be honest, I don't think we will, but he just seems like a bit of a rotten egg in the setup right now.
 -
Given his pedigree, It's probably hard for him not to. We currently have nothing on the left side really, so it will almost certainly improve us.
 -
He can't even coach a defence to keep out Alloa Athletic. He'll never change, which is why he'll be jobless within the next 8 weeks.
 -
He scored two goals today in the German cup, second one particularly good from outside the area. Looks a good player. Played in the Bundesliga last season, as well as Europe (Conference league and Champions League) Seems to have some genuine top level pedigree and is the uptick we need quality wise.

I miss the days of Tim Lovejoy, Helen Chamberlain in the morning. Then Jeff Stelling, Matt, Charlie, Merson, Phil Thompson for Saturday afternoon. Maybe it's just me being nostalgic, but you have to say it was just better. The likes of Morrison and Sherwood on Soccer Saturday is a total WTF - if you can understand Morrison half the time.

Jamie Redknapp which one of his pointless punditry nuggets just now. He described City's new signing, Reijnders, as one of those players you look at and he just looks like a footballer. No shit.

I saw some chat on twitter, it was in Marca, who said we'd tried and failed with a loan deal for Atletico Madrid's right back, Nahuel Molina, which would be quite frankly ludicrous. I fail to believe it even happened.
 -
Their academy players are top notch. Ben Nelson, Wanya, Mcateer, Monga - they won't miss any of their players, that cohort of academy players are top level.
 -
	El-Khannous replaced him.
 -
Their move for Mcatee is probably more relevant in their pursuit of Fernandes. That probably sticks a pin in that one.
 -
Nothing will happen, as per last year. Count me surprised if it does. They'll sell some players this window for big money, then go and buy some good players or bring some on loan, and you'll hear nothing more about it. Until next summer, when the PSR reports come out that they breached it 'this season', and then rinse and repeat basically.
