  1. Both 'wide' players were dreadful tonight. Armstrong doesn't look anywhere near fit enough yet, feels like we've had to rush him back due to the injuries to Redmond etc. Shows how desperately we need additional wide players tbh. Not fair to expect someone like Tella to be the answer.
  2. Seems as if they've seen the light. Shame for us.
  3. Looks like he's forgotten how to play football. Desperately lacking wide depth. Let's see what happens in the next week.
  4. We out Burnley' d, Burnley. Truly inept performance all round, but 3 points are all that matters really. A side with anything about them would have taken us apart today, thankfully it was Burnley reserves with their u18's on the bench. Still tons and tons of improvement to be made though, we are absolutely nowhere near where we were at the end of last season, nowhere near.
  5. Or we need to get the fee for Hoedt first (plus lose a portion of his ages) before we are able to move for anyone.
  6. I'm fairly certain they changed the rules after, but I never saw confirmation of what it was. But from what I'd read the new rules would have stopped him passing if he went in for it again now. The Fit and proper test is a total farce, really. Even Wigan's owners passed it, and they just had it for two weeks before throwing it into admin.
  7. It's ok, they changed the rules so he wouldn't be approved in the future, after they'd approved him for us. 🙄
  8. I'm glad we're shot of him. The most arrogant defender I can remember us having. What did he have to be arrogant about? He was turned by just about anyone in the PL. Hopeless player.
  9. He's not young, but he's certainly hungry. Wayne Shaw.
  10. I meant profile of player, winger/attacking either flank style. Can't really read much into the youtube vids either way.
  11. Cabral is certainly the sort of addition we need on the flanks. Out of Redmond and Moussa, that's it for our wide players - and we couldn't count on Moussa for any of last season really. This will give Redmond a bit of competition if it happens, he's had it too easy. I thought our transfer fee use would be the other way around, spend the £££ on a midfielder and maybe a loan for a winger. But we'll see.
  12. I don't think you can class Ings as a Hasenhuttl signing, he was brought in under Hughes on a loan with a full obligation to buy. He was signing him no matter what! The 4 real signings he's had input into are Moussa, KWP, Salisu and Adams.
  13. The Athletic is really good, just lots of well written articles and some info you don't hear or see anywhere else. I got it at the discount a few months ago, well worth it so far.
  14. That's been the line for so many recent windows, and slowly the level of quality will drop...and drop....and before you know it, Romeu and Stephens will become key players. Oh wait.
  15. It's a very, very frustrating and self defeating way. It's not being 'sustainable', it's actually the least sustainable way to run a PL football club, as you'll just get left far behind. We can't even afford a loan before we hunt for someone to sell, it's so depressing. We shout about this model like it's some sort of magic though, but it's just self defeating.
  16. Holy shit, wtf.
  17. This is going to really really hurt clubs. Will be lots of lower league clubs going out of business after Christmas in my opinion.
  18. Davies is very average, but still much better than the options of Romeu or Smallbone at the moment. I wouldn't say he fits the type of profile we were after though - powerful/box to box style midfielder.
  19. Can't disagree with you mate, but we're in a nanny state for at least the next 6-8 months.
  20. I can't imagine any fans until spring next year.
  21. Either of those loans would take up any remaining money we have (Wages/loan fee), I'd have thought. We may not even be able to scrimp enough together to get a loan of that profile. I think we're struggling to get enough finance together for any deal tbh. Sad times really, got to feel sorry for Ralph.
  22. £25-30m is the quoted figure for him from previous articles. Absolute no chance. We won't sign anyone above the £10m mark IMO. I'll eat my words if anything comes of that.
  23. I'm finding the lack of any links quite concerning to be honest, especially when you see clubs like Fulham going for players that would certainly add what we're missing. Lookman would add a lot of quality out wide, and it's only a loan. No brainer. But I imagine we'll have to wait until we have a fee for Boufal before we can service a loan.
  24. I don't like the sounds of the DaGrosa takeover, but beggars prob can't be choosers at the mo.
  25. You can't play that way of defending with the players and midfielders we have! Do it when we have better players in those positions (who are quicker/more mobile) but not when we're relying on Romeu, Stephens and Bedernak to provide the last line of defence. It really is suicide and he must see something in training from the existing players to suggest they can play that way, as I can't understand it otherwise.
