There you go! At least that tweet has come in early. Thread closed!

It is quite depressing when you see the level of money thrown around in the PL, by clubs who we should be aspiring to at least match competitively. The TV money is usually a huge factor in that, but there are also lots of owners with genuine ambition. I don't want to be a club who just spend, spend, spend with no real structure, don't get me wrong. But I do want to be a club who is capable and able to get key elements of its squad sorted. This is where an owner should put his hand in his own pocket and help, but that won't happen as he has zero interest in us as a footballing entity - I think that's fairly clear. If you think about it, we've spent around £45m this summer - 14m of that funded through the sale of Targett and a further 14m from the sale of Gabbi. So, we haven't spent an astronomical amount of money. I'd have hoped there was more there. What we need in the squad isn't a 'nice to have', it's an absolute necessity to have. We really can't tiptoe into a new season with the same failed CB's AGAIN, how many close shaves does the club need? Continuing lack of investment such as this will lead to us losing a great manager, which will inevitably mean we will slide down the leagues and be in an even worse financial situation. Sometimes owners need to be brave and take a brave gamble, but I honestly don't think we have owners who have the interest or ability to even do that. So, I'll go back to what I've always said, what was the point of the takeover? It's benefited us in no way whatsoever. Cheers Kat.

It certainly didn't work out for him at all after he left us. Never worked at Utd, certainly didn't work at Everton. Grass isn't always greener, but I guess the bank ballance is. $$$$

Looks like they may be losing Eriksen for £80m ish to Utd - so Coutinho will be a loan replacement, and then they have some cash to go and get a proper front man to play with Kane.
-
There were plenty of links and build up before that date though, most of the summer - although it ramped up the week before and it was just a matter of time. There's absolutely nothing going on right now, no links, no build up. zilch. Until we can shift, we’re tied, and this looks seemingly unlikely now. I’m fully prepared to have the same failing centre backs in this side next season, which is less than ideal, but nothing we can do about it. Just need to hope the extra goals help us overcome the inevitable leakiness and weekly errors we will witness.

A loan though, from the one player I'm sure the club believed could generate the most $$$. Absolutely no chance of fee's from any of the others then!
-
Probably a last min loan to a foreign club long after the English window has closed, whereby we pay a main % of the wage and get little to nothing in return. That will probably happen with most to be honest. Hope to be proven wrong!

He has a knack of coming on at the end of games and making stupid mistakes and decisions which have cost us numerous goals. Really not too sure about him.

I think any Everton interest is now done.

I honestly think that level of incoming is unsustainable. I think they are flirting with disaster here. They haven't stopped yet either. Talk of a £35m bid in for Berradi from Serie A, and another £20m bid in for an attacker from Serie A. All very excitng, but it's simply not going to work. Silly club.
-
Because we have an owner not willing to spend any money. We can only spend what we generate, wage wise and transfer wise. Hence why Che didn't come in until we had shifted Targett.
-
But the problem is we have no cash flow now, zilch, nothing. We cannot budge or add any more to the wage bill until we get rid of those who currently polute it. That's more the problem rather than outright transfer fee's, although we do also need that moeny. We're skint, basically.

I think the nature of football and fans in particular is that success is seen as now, what's happening in front of them now. Majority are only interested in what can make an impact today, not tomorrow. I quite like the approach to be honest, give it a couple of years and we'll have a bucket load of saught after players. Which we can sell for lots of money, rinse and repeat.
-
They probably are interested, but they will only pay £0. We want to try and recoup the quite simply offensive amount we paid Monaco. The chances of that happening I'd say are between none and none. I imagine he's also on a stupid wage which these clubs can't meet either. Absolute mess. Maybe we could ask Pellegrino to pay us back for him?
-
He was better a few years ago. I think Burnley have pulled Villa's pants down with that fee if I'm honest. What on earth are we asking for McCarthy and Forster???
-
Spurs fans getting themselves a bit twitchy at their lack of activity. Levy to blame, killing the club etc. I think they need to wake up and smell the coffee really. That new stadium won't have come free. They already have a team full of very talented and highly paid players. They even broke their transfer record this summer. But they still want more, more, more.
-
Do you think something is still happening with Upamecano? Can't see how we'd afford either of these guys to be honest.

Looks like Dybala heading to Utd, with Lukaku going the other way. I think Utd could get a good deal here. We were linked to Dybala back in the Cortese days, if i remember correctly.

As I said a few weeks back, unless we shift Carillo, Lemina, Austin, Forster – and maybe a couple of others, we won't and can't bring anyone else in. And that's on perms as well, not loans. We need the money. I think we want a CB, but the re-integration of Hoedt suggests that maybe we're looking at a likely scenario where we stay with what we have. Not ideal and not what I expected, but we've been lumbered with lots of seriously overpaid and unwanted players which is going to massively hinder us. Once we get them off the books, it will be like a leash removed from around us. You also need to factor in that some substantial $$ will also need to be put aside for any contract re-negotiations for the likes of PEH, Redmond etc. So, we need to be careful. It's clear we have an owner who isn't going to put his hand in his pocket at any point, so we can simply only acquire players on the basis of what we generate ourselves.

You've pretty much confirmed what I’ve said really, he has talent. I've never been negative about his abilities as a footballer, he has it all in his locker that side. He just doesn't have the application, so his consistency will never be there. He never has had it and probably never will. That's why he's always moving around and hardly getting any games under his belt. There will always be clubs and managers who look at the raw player and hope they can coach it out of him, but the reality is that he's a little bit broken in his traits and that's not particularly easy to fix.
-
He's got talent, there's no doubts about it. He can play. He's just a flawed personality, his makeup is all wrong and that’s why he's never going to make it anywhere really. If we're honest, this is a great club for players to come to and flourish if they have talent and application. We've seen it all before. He has absolutely zero application and this is why we don't want him anymore, why Marseille didn't want him and why Juventus didn't want him. He'll be a typical journeyman and probably in an obscure league within a couple of years. Shame really, such a waste of natural ability.

Ings looks like he's blowing out of his arse already.

Bale transfer fallen through, not entirley sure why. Given that he's totally not wanted at Madrid, this could open up some interesting last day rush jobs for him. Loan to Bayern is a shout I reckon.

A Man City youngester I think, wasn't first team there.
