  1. Probably the latter. We all know that they wouldn't want to punish one of their favorites. Golden child of the league and all that. ''The Premier League subsequently confirmed it was looking into the matter, but Sky sources understand that, as far as the league is concerned, the apology is the end of the matter and they are unlikely to take any further action.''
  2. PL have apparently come out and said that this apology is the end of the matter as far as they're concerned.
  3. If you have a look at the link above, it seems as if this has played out exactly as the Demspey 'move' did. We agreed to withdraw our complaint to PL as long as they ended interest and put a grovelling apology on their official channels. That's my take on it anyway.
  4. They have history by the way: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/fulham/9739320/Liverpools-embarrassing-apology-to-Fulham-sees-Clint-Dempsey-tapping-up-complaint-dropped.html
  5. That's quite funny really. A blatant admission of their guilt for a start. They probably admitted guilt to try and avoid further punishment and sanctions. There is no way he's going to end up there now.
  6. Fair post by the admin guy.
  7. Like he would know that. Unless he's their owner.
  8. Personally I don't think there is any scenario where he can stay now, I'm sure the club know that. They must be confident in getting one of their targets I'd say.
  9. If we're honest that's probably how it will be sold to them as well. Both tipped for the top less than a year ago, coming to England and doing well with us is a great chance to showcase themselves for the Arsenal or other jobs in the PL. Sad, but true. and probably the only realistic way we can get one of these guys.
  10. Should be between him and Roger whatshisname in my opinion. Both available and free, both keen to rebuild their reputations. Both very similar, one a little more outlandish in his attacking approach than the other.
  11. Yeah, that wouldn't end well...! ''Well, we don't really rate you. the fans don't, the players don't. We want to get rid of you, but we can't find anyone to do that. So we're going to have to be stuck with you for the time being'' One way to get him to walk I guess...
  12. Expectations I guess. But I can tell you that Stoke fans want Hughes out, they've had enough of him. Pulis did as much as he could with that WBA squad you'd have to say, but I know some of their fans who wouldn't be too fed up to see the back of him.
  13. All you're doing is responding to speculation and press, the club it's self have said nothing. We don't really know what's going on behind the scenes, but you seem to just listen to the speculation and claim it as the truth.
  14. Standard alpine start of june thread.
  15. His position was untenable, let's be honest. Was just waiting for this to come out. Oddly kinda lines up with the St Etienne ITK's reporting that it will be sorted by Thursday. But Puel seemed a nice chap, he just tried to shoehorn his way rather than adapting to the players we already had. It was pretty obvious from day 1 that the formation didn't suit certain players, and as the season grew on it didn't really change. The last game of the season we looked as confused as to what we were trying to do as we did at the start. I don't like getting rid of managers so quickly, but there wasn't really any option here. The media will paint the 8th placed finish and cup final towards this being a crazy sacking, but it was the worst 8th place finish in the history of the PL.
  16. We won't get £60m, with the Celtic sell-on it'll be more like 40ish I'd expect.
  17. His article is part of the media brief. They will have all been fed the same/similar info and it's up to them how they report it. It looks pretty much 90% done I'd say.
  18. He isn't though is he. This is a well briefed story and there is a lot of fact behind it I'd have imaged. Head out of sand time.
  19. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern - they're the top. He's selling himself short if Liverpool is his choice, they'll get raped in the CL.
  20. No idea why that should be the case though. It certainly shouldn't be if we're managed well in a financial sense. In this day and age in the PL, Palace can spend £32m on a player without selling before.
  21. Means nothing nothing to me. Just numb about it all.
  22. Do we have some sort of feeder club relationship with Liverpool or something? It's just pointless now.

    Puel out

So you've basically discredited the point you made, by yourself.
  24. Weird signing for Stoke. He's on his last legs, WBA fans wanted him dropped.
