He's just another Tadic really, but more capable of a random worldy. Not sure he's what we need either, I don't remember him being particularly quick - he's just another 'cut inside' type of player. We have enough of those! More than happy to leave him to Everton...

Not a huge fan if I'm honest. If we're going british go out there and get Evans. (£3m apparently). There are a couple of players in france who could fit the bill though. They both play for Toulouse....let's get them both.

I think in the main the last 4 transfer windows have been poor - for a start, failing to replace the gaping holes in the side (defence, striker) and then signing players who don't actually fit. The transfers since Ross has come in have all been a bit crap. Hopefully we will return to signing players at the Wanyama level - someone good enough to come straight in who has been a star in a lesser league. The likes of Hoj, Lemina, Gabbiadini - whilst good players, have come to us on the back of poor stints at their previous club and are looking to rebuild their career….. We've got the cash, so let's spend on proven players.

Leave Robert Huth to the promoted clubs. I'd hope we'd be aiming a lot higher....

It seems obvious that he just went stale there, he built a decent team for Stokes standards and got some accolades over the years he was there. They did ok with Pulis, but they wanted to evolve the club and take another approach and Hughes did just that. They’re ignoring that now, but he achieved decent stuff there. The recruitment coupled with a general malaise lead them to the situation they find themselves in. It's just typical of football fans to look at one aspect and blame it all on that, the fact is that they lost it in multiple area’s.

Having a hand in confirming West Brom's relegation is beyond sweet. Hate that club.

I agree, there are some decent options in the squad that have been poorly managed by two managers. It’s like some players have just had their confidence sucked out of them. Burnley have got European football with a team including the likes of Matt Lawton and Stephen Ward. Seriously. We do need some surgery across the team and some decent characters brought in (particuarly in defence), but I genuinely think that there is a decent base to work with and it doesn't require an entire sack them all and replace approach.

Congrats on your health - that's always more important!

Targett I guess depends on Ryan. We've also got Vokins in the background who is pretty highly thought of. I'd let Reed and Gallagher move on, neither of them have really stood out in poor championship teams.
-
I don't think anyone is forgetting about how bad we've been, it's just that suggesting to sell off 21 players from our first team squad, scrap our management team and entire football board in a 6 week period is just plain stupid.
-
Absolutley no chance we'd see that level of change over. Would be careless to do that as well.
-
To be fair, I rated Zouma and Martins-Indi as good signings at the time. **** knows what happend to them.
-
Ffs. Everyone could see what he meant.

Not sure selling Hoedt is the most sensible, given that we'll probably lose Yoshida as well. I think he is clumsy and awkward to watch but I still have a tiny bit of hope that alongside a powerful/leader type he will be a lot better. We do need at least 2 CB's though. I'd be tempted to loan out one of Bedranek and Stephens, bring in a proper replacement for VVD and then another powerful type to suplement the sqaud. We generally lack a bit of experience back there.
-
There's a lot to sort out once the dust has settled on Sunday. Maybe we'll get the 'five pledges' ?
-
Unfortunately, it does look as if his time is up here. He's scored some important goals for us, he’s the sort of guy you want to see do well but generally he hasn’t seemed well suited to the cut and thrust of the PL on a long-term. He needs to head back to Italy where I think he's comfortable, then we can look to sign someone a bit more effective for us.
-
I can see him at a L1 club like Sunderland or Barnsley.
-
He makes such a difference to the back 4 because he cames and wins the ball - either catches it, or gets really good distance on his punches. Given the lack of decent GK options, he surely has to be an option for the world cup?
-
No doubts there. We're not any worse than Watford or Brighton though, so we should have been a tad more comfortable. We have some decent quality in certain areas, but need a big overhaul though for sure.
-
There will be a lot of changes in my opinion. We are too passive at the back, we need some genuine power and strength back there and someone who can actually win the ball in the air. (a leadership presence) I think Hoedt is clumsy as hell but would benefit alongside someone stronger and quicker. We need to work out what's going on with Gabbiadini, Carrillo. Sign a couple of attacking goal scorers with pace (Promes/Sisto). Build around the likes of Romeu, Hoj, Lemina in the middle. The squad has decent quality in certain areas, but is genuinely a poor mix of 'types'.
-
Let's be honest, any half decent manager would have this squad performing. He is a half decent manager, so that's why we're performing. No reason not to keep him on. Everyone seems to have bought into him, and for the first time in 2 years there are chants for a manager at our games.
-
Huge, mind-blowingly huge. It wasn't a perfect performance by any means, but what it lacked in technical style, it made up for in grit and determination. This is the main trait that Hughes has brought to us, and let's be honest....any half decent manager would bring to us. Get back to basics, mix up the play a little and play with a genuine purpose. To this day I still do not understand what Puel or MP were trying to do with us, revolutionise football or something, but it was all too over complicated and it never made any sense. Barring in absolute crazy situation, we can probably now start tentatively planning for next year, which I must admit looked a long way off a few weeks ago. Why on earth did we stick with MP for so long?
-
I already feel sick.

We stay up.

Bony is out for the season I believe, well long-term. Bit of next season too.
