I'm ITK. Liverpool are signing Gardos, not VVD as has been reported. The clubs have done very, very well to keep this out of the mainstream media. Expect an announcement in the next 48 hours. Trusted source.

Ah, they're in that denial phase! ''Key player leaving, but actually he's not that important. Actually he's pretty ****'' We've all done it! Fact is that he is their best player by a distance, their main man really.

Another classic thread from 9-3.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/10962732/barcelona-confident-of-signing-philippe-coutinho-from-liverpool Karma? Just replace Coutinho with VVD in that article and it's almost identical.

The main issue here is that he ditched the agent he negotiated his contract with, shortly after signing in. For some reason. I think he signed for 6 years in May....then ditched his agent and joined the Wesserman group in June/July ish.

I thought Virgil was different to be honest, but he's gone down in my estimations. We made a huge commitment to him last summer, that wouldn't have been cheap for us in terms of signing on fee's etc. He'd have been getting his increased wage whilst he was recovering from injury as well, something else we provided him and helped him with. But seemingly in the time he wasn't playing for us, and after he'd used our resources to rehabilitate he was chatting to Klopp behind our backs - now if he cannot accept that it was wrong of Liverpool and himself to do that, then he's quite flawed - he needs to show more respect to the club who pay him handsomely. This is also not forgetting the fact that he was made captain for us, he's got that responsibility as well - but he's seemingly acted like a sneaky piece of work. But what I will say is that all of this has come on the back of what is nothing other than an orchestrated tapping up attempt. The rules against tapping up are there to protect the clubs from having unsettled players. The rules have failed us here. If i was at the club, I'd be hell bent on getting Liverpool shafted - because they've not done anything by the book here. You just get the feeling that we don't want to play too hard though. Horrible situation for the club to be in, but I just think they need to get VVD to suck it up, get used to it, you're paid well, you can and will do better than Liverpool....so hold fire and don't be such a ****!

I have this clown on ignore, but reading some of the bits people quote him on, it's so obvious what his game is, and it certainly isn't a supporter of Southampton. I wish people would just ignore him, he'll go away then!

Stinking season....? Do you mean storming season..???
-
And that's why there should have been serious governance when they were spending stupid money and wages on the likes of Tevez, Hulk etc.. It was never going to last. Novelty seems to have worn off now.
-
Play Gabbi off of Austin in one of the wide area's, he's played there and thrived there for Napoli - he's got good movement, so could be very much like Jay was for us in the season he had with Lambert etc.
-
Maybe we could sell VVD to Chelsea for £75m, then go and knock on Liverpool's door with a £85m bid for Coutinho. That's obviously after Les Reed has taken him down to Mayflower park for an ice cream.
-
I'd agree with that. With the likes of Mane/Morgan etc...we got those out of the way in June I think, left it to the manager to then go out and replace them within pre-season. I think all we're seeing here is a situation where we're allowing VVD to get his head straight and come back into the team at home to Swansea in a couple of weeks - as per Morgan did v Liverpool in the pre-season he lost his head a few times. I know people like to mock Les (Saint Charlie in particular) by taking the **** out of his quiet summer remark, but to be honest it will probably end up being just that....
-
Even winning the league and playing in the champions league isn't enough for Monaco to keep their best players. They've lost the spine of their team in this window, although they're a hell of a lot better off for it.... They had an awesome young team that would have got better, but as per football it's not fair and the richer teams just poach them and the normal pecking order is returned....getting a bit bored with football to be honest.
-
Hernandez was pretty naff last year, not sure he's worth the 160k they're spending. I think he went 15 or so games without a goal, compared with the 30 odd goals he got the season before, I don't think he got more than 15 goals last year in all comps.
-
I really, really wish the club wouldn't push injuries under the carpet. We seem to be experts at that. Hiding the bad news etc.

The correlation between showing ambition and spending lots and lots and lots of money is flawed. Ambition can be shown in many other ways. I'd say the works done at Staplewood show an enormous amount of ambition, more so than a £30m signing would show me. Seems like fans these days need to be appeased by ££££, and it's just wrong. It shouldn't be what it's about. The fact you've suggested Defoe says it all for me.
-
What's he done wrong? Care to explain that rather brash statement? Should he have just given in and sold him, or would that have been wrong as well?
-
Fair enough coming on here with snippets, you obviously have some sort of contact. But I cannot help but get incredibly suspicious when someone starts going into the level of detail you just did. Don't get carried away.
-
They are such a cesspit of a club.
-
Morgan, ,Wanyama, Mane If we don't want to sell, we won't.
-
How will he be worth ''coppers'' in a year? I'd expect us to ask for even more next summer, he'll still have 4 years to run.
-
Wouldn't really agree Wanyama ever settled down to be honest, he was in a right sulk most of that season. Morgan to his credit, did.
-
Dramatic turn of events. Makes you wonder why on earth he committed so strongly just a year ago? I don't get his stance, he agreed a 6 year contract, so it's his bed to lay in. This is another Morgan situation for me. He'll settle down eventually.
-
I quite like Ryan, I think he's a proper goal scorer. Unlucky with his injury, but now has an opportunity to nail down some games and get scoring goals again.
-
Not quite up to date on this, is there anymore on the Sigurdson stuff other than what egg mentioned yesterday? Is this chat just based on someone saying they may have seen him drive into staplewood??? He's got quite a common face i'd say....
