Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I thought Tadic's shot, in the centre of the box, was a poor finish to be honest. He made himself a bit of time and should have gone either side - but sent it straight at the keeper. -
I loved Toby, he's a stunning player. Would imagine he'll be in the team of the season this year, easily one of the best - if not the best - defenders. VVD ahead of Lovren though. VVD is still a little rough around the edges, but his attributes are scary. He's quick, strong, powerful, technically gifted, amazing touch, great heading and reading of the game. He's definitely going to be an elite level centre back for years to come, won't be long until the big boys come calling.

We've hit another one of those proverbial brick walls. Not dominating games, poor possession, lack of movement in the final third. It's been such a **** season quality wise across the board, not just for us. The title will probably be won with 70 odd points this year, which says all you need to know about the quality. -
CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons

Don't even try to justify your mental views from over a year ago....they were mentally wrong then, and they still are now. -
What's happened to Juanmi by the way? is he injured, or have we just given up on him?
-
Mane, Long. They can when they feel like it. Our problem is midfield, no real control in there (clasie looks like he is starting to grab it though) and a lack of a creative influence in that area to feed the 3 we play.
-
Austin, Long, Mane. Pelle, Tadic, Mane.......Cedric and Bertrand attacking full backs. There's plenty of attacking and creative players on show. Our problem tonight came from midfield, no one controlling the game or retaning the ball - so the attacking players never really got into it. One day JWP will become a consistent player.

Well, I can think of a lot more worse teams to support. It's a bit of a nothing season, but we're due one of those!
-
BT could only find one highlight for us, I'm surprised they even found that. My highlight was the FT whistle.
-
No one is miserable, but that was utter trash heap crap tonight. No other way to paint it up.
-
Stoke, Everton, Pool, Watford, Liverpool down to 12th have games in hand on us and are all within 2 pts. Can't see our top half stay being long lived.
-
That was a complete and utter shambolic mess. No more needs to be said.
-
I wonder if there will be a minutes silence on Wednesday night now?
-
To be fair, it was a really good save. But he still hasn't achieved anything in a Liverpool shirt. Time is running out.
-
Take into consideration that he's being coached by Wenger though. He needs to move for the sake of his career, Wenger is ruining him.

Always_SFC really doesn't help himself sometimes.

If Arsenal don't win the league this year, then Wenger should just fall on his sword. No excuses what so ever, as always when the pressure is on they crumble. They're a team full of mentality fragile foreigners.

Southampton vs Chelsea Post Match Throw away
S-Clarke replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Bertrand is probably the best fit for that position - without question. But we don't have a third centre half who is reliable enough to play every week. -
Costa chasing down the ball from throw in due to injury

I would agree with that, if you have a little bit of nous about you, you play on that....but we let him affect us too much. -
Southampton vs Chelsea Post Match Throw away
S-Clarke replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Chelsea played well, great movement between their front players, it was very hard for us to contain them for 90 mins - which is why it was frustrating that the first goal was so weak. But we did play well for the majority of that game I felt, very organised and disciplined in our play and kept them at arm's length - although they did start to raise the bar after 60mins or so. We lacked a real threat once Long went off. I personally would have put Mane on instead, as having that pace in behind stretches teams and can make so much difference. So that was a bit frustrating, as that substitution did really play into Chelsea's hands. But lots of positives. Loved Romeu's performance, although the midfield did tire as the game went on I felt. Onto the ''Derby''... -
Why is he talking about his own club in that way?
-
They really don't rate morgan. I'll have him back, please. This guy doesn't deserve his own thread. Should be closed and he can feck off. I said he was ****e from day one and he's just getting worse. An absolute waste of £25m. Makes me sick when I think of the players van Gaal turfed out for the likes of Schneiderlin, Darmian and Depay. His season has been worse than Fellaini's debut season He's not good enough to play for the club, he has been a passenger in pretty every single game he's played in. He was giving it the big I am and wanting to leave Southampton to move to a bigger club and now he has he looks overwhelmed and completely out of place. His ability on the ball has pretty much died. Thats not LVG's doing, thats just him being crap. I hope he can still come good though

What a mess of a team Villa are. Hopeless at playing football. They should just give up.

Confirmed: Caulker loan cancelled; Moves on loan to Liverpool
S-Clarke replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
To be fair, given his knack of being involved in relegated teams, I'm happy he's gone. Plus the fact that he was ****ing ****! -
I'm still confused by Newcastle's business to be honest. Lots of money spent on attacking midfielders and strikers, yet probably the weakest part of their team for the last 2 years has been the back 4 - yet it's still the same. It's horrendous and that is the reason they will be battling until the end, no matter how many good attacking players they have. I think they've spent around £100m this season, and they've only added Muevmba at the back - and even he's a bit off the pace.
