  1. Our VVD replacement in 2017 then.
  2. He looked good, was running that midfield for most of the afternoon. Excellent passer of the ball and added a bit of tenacity to his game. He'll get lots of harder games, but this is more like it - this is why people get a tad frustrated with him, as he has it in his locker, we don't see it often enough.
  3. I still don't think LVG really has an identity for that side. After all the money he's spent, they should be playing a hell of a lot better than they are.
  4. I think he's been terrific this season. Holds it up well, brings other's into play. He's massive cog in our system and how we attack teams. Take him out and it would look a lot different, that's why he played most weeks last season.
  5. He's an excellent player. has everything you would want in a DM. He can tackle, he's a presence on the field and he can pass....some of his switches were sublime. I like him a lot.
  6. You won't get it fella, people have tried for many a season, but he can never back up his views with hard cash. Subconsciously he probably knows he's an idiot.
  7. It's clear he's not going. He can sulk if he wants, but the club hold the cards. It's refreshing to see, players shouldn't be aloud to dictate things when they are under long-term contracts.
  8. That's more like it. We played with a tempo from the off and it kept Norwich on the back foot for the most of the game. We were much more accurate with our passing, much more composed in and out of possession. We picked up and closed space well defensively, and also utilized space well when attacking - on both sides. I felt we did this from the off, even before the sending off of their RB. This was the Tadic we all fell in love with at the start of last season, and I honestly prefer him on the left where he can naturally whip it in without having to cut in or switch feet. He may not be the quickest, but he has terrific technical ability and can tie most full backs up in knots on his day. It was great to see him back to that level. The midfield had control of the game for the majority of it. I was very impressed with James today, his use of the ball and reading of positions in that slightly deeper CM role was perfect. He was tenacious, and whilst he's not the strongest or biggest lad, he put himself about to the best he could. We all know he has terrific technical ability, so if he can tie that up by adding a bit of tenacity to his game then he really can go far. I was worried he was drifting into a bit of a no-mans role, not really knowing where he fits, but he put himself right back into the frame today. I've been impressed with Romeu from his first game. Very composed on the ball, uses it very well, shields well, picks up space well. He is pretty much everything you would want in a sitting defensive midfielder. It was critical we went into the international break with a win, it just makes the entire picture a little better and calms a lot of nerves. It'll be interesting to see how we setup when Clasie is back, but the future certainly does look rosey. It's amazing what a win does, although it will still take a fair bit to make up for our throw away in Europe! Now I guess the focus swings to Tuesday. I think we know what we want and what we're doing. Neither player will leave and we'll be getting VVD.
  9. I thought it was Stekelenburg's green top?
  10. Absolutely this. I frustrates me more than dumbfounds me, as it's always the usual suspects who attack the club for no reason at all.
  11. I don't understand your point. The club came out with a clear statement that neither will be sold. In the respect of Mane, there was an official statement released - so we did exactly what Everton and West Brom did. I don't see why I'm tedious, there are plenty more idiots around this place just waiting in the shadows to jump on the bad times. How would I handle our transfer policy? In exactly the way we have done. The 2 sales we've made this summer of Morgan and Clyne were kind of expected by everyone. Morgan had grown to a level where he was too good for us, he'd outgrown us. He'd given us 7 odd years and deserved his move to a big club, I don't begrudge him or the club on that transfer. Clyne seemingly made it clear that he wanted to go to Liverpool. The club could have said ''no, we're not letting you go'' in the knowledge that he wouldn't sign a new contract, so they'd lose a key play for nothing. It was a decision made in the best interests of the club to protect themselves, again, I see no issue with that. So after all the talks of meltdowns and people talking as if we are selling players every day, we've lost 2. Just 2. Which most people expected us to lose. People are seemingly still caught up in last summers shenanigans a little, last season caught a few people by surprise so they went quiet. This start is now a perfect opportunity for them to raise their heads and continue where they left off from last summer, even though they were proven totally wrong.
  12. I think that's exactly what we've done? No idea what your point is.
  13. To be honest, he's a convenient stick to beat the club with because he was ''cheap''. But he's not actually done anything wrong in the limited time on the pitch to attract any criticism, he looks steady. But why people feel the need to have sticks to beat the club with is beyond me.
  14. There is absolutely no difference between the situations of Stones and Berahino to that of Wanyama and Mane. In fact the Stones/Berahino stories have been more emphatic with their transfer requests and the like, and the constant reported bids for their services. Our ones have been speculation. But anyway - they've said they're not selling either, and we've said we're not selling either. So what are they doing different exactly? Why do we need to find a backbone when we've done nothing different to those two clubs? And WTF is it with the Everton love-in on this forum.
  15. The agents and media will keep peddling this crap out. Last Sunday before the transfer window shuts, let's regurgitate all the crap. He won't leave.
  16. Dirty tricks at play here, as per in the transfer window.
  17. Spurs without the goals of Harry Kane aren't up to much tbh, not sure where their other consistent threats are.
  18. Umm, maybe because I have a hell of a lot more faith in players than some of you wet fannies have? Seriously, some of you on here need to grow a flaming pair. The shortsightedness of footballs never ceases to amaze me. Things aren't going well so sack the manager, buy lots of new players. Quick fix.com How about just keeping calm and believe in your qualities? which aren't massively different from what they were last year. The team needs time to grow, talk of Relegation is quite frankly pathetic.
  19. So, you don't class Clasie or Cedric as decent or exciting signings? They're in exactly the same category as a Tadic/Mane/Clyne when we signed those guys. And so will our CB when he comes.
  20. Rudi Skacel, he signed on the pitch. Bit pointless really.
  21. Lol @ Rogers post match interview. He's cringeworthy.
  22. Pastor fishing for bites again then I see.
  23. Sorry mate, that's a load of trash. Everyone just needs to calm the hell down, cause there's way too much OTT crap being spouted on here at the moment. I'm not sure why everyone seems to think that spending lots and lots of money equals success. Why is everyone desperate to see lots of new players? Our forays into the 'exciting' signing market, which fans seem to want us to dip into again, have been complete devastating failures for us on huge levels. We won't go there again.

    Signings

He didn't do anything wrong, but didn't offer anything in attack. It's not like Alan Brazil to jump on the bandwaggon.
