  1. It looks as if Alpine is now starting to position himself for pre-season and lining his moans up, he's got a lot of making up to do - as we have hardly seen him throughout all of this record breaking season! I guess it's not long until the first thread now. What will it be this year, that we're run like a Seaside B&B or a takeaway joint down town? Get your guesses in now. Also seems as if our old friend Charlie is getting himself in order and prepared for another summer of wetness as well.
  2. I remember the days we used to have Skates posting on here, but they were open about the fact they were. Good banter. The new type of skate ''I'll pretend to be a Saints fan, just to wind them up'' is quite tedious.
  3. Can I go for C) all of the above?
  4. If you're looking at the pictures I saw of that, it's actually Sterling.
  5. Geoff Shreeves?
  6. To be fair, for the last 5/6 months Cazorla has played in CM alongside Couqlain, with Ozil, Ramsey and Sanchez further forward in front of them.
  7. Cazorlla hasn't done too badly, and he's the height of a little kid!
  8. And a bit more on Toby, latest quotes from him: ''“Of course I’m watching," said Alderweireld of Saturday's game. "Normally I will support for Christian Benteke, but now I support for Arsenal. "I hope we can go to Europe next season. "I think we deserve that after this season and hopefully next season we can do better."'' For someone who was only on loan here, which has now ended, he still sounds like ''one of us'' and is already thinking of next season. Hope we can sort something out with Madrid.
  9. "Gundogan will be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, that is a fact," Watzke said. "I am very confident we will see various clubs coming in for him. It has not been our intention to see him leaving. It was his ambition to move clubs (this summer). "Therefore we agreed. We will sell him and modify our general future plans (in midfield) due to this!"
  10. Wenger: "If you want me to say I like Arturo Vidal, yes I like Arturo Vidal," said the Frenchman in his press conference ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final. "Are we in a transfer mode? I say, no."
  11. Milan are keen to get him for a second season, and he wants to stay - apparently. Good player though.
  12. Slight change of topic, but can anyone see the sense in why clubs are taking their squads on ''end of season'' tours? They moan and moan about the lack of time to rest, and yet rather than let them have a few weeks off at the end of the season before Internationals/U21's, they take them all away to the US (Man City) or Malaysia (Tottenham) to play some meaningless friendly's.
  13. Can't see that happening. Why would you blast £12m on an out of contract player? Fair enough, there will be compo to arrange....but 12m, seriously?
  14. If you look at Ashley's policy over the last few years, it's to buy talent at a lowish price and then re-sell a few years later for double/3 times what they paid, so we wouldn't be getting Sissoko on the cheap if we did try. You could say that their policy is similar to ours, but ours is done by people who actually know what they're doing.
  15. I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm absolutely stunned at this news, Fifa, corrupt?? No!! I don't believe it. Well done on authorities for uncovering the worst kept secret in history. This is definitely worth an order of Popcorn.
  16. The league winner will get it most of the time. If we hadn't tailed off as we did, I'm sure Koeman would have got it. What I did find odd is that Kurt Zouma got young player of the year.
  17. If no one wants him in England though, I'm sure he'd conciser a CL club abroad. I think both of these transfers will drag until late august, and we'll be onto Meltdown v1552952 by the time anything is decided for sure.
  18. Wouldn't shrug at that. We both get what we want.
  19. Tadic showed his quality, the problem is that he seemed to pickup an injury and that sort of pulled him back a bit. But he's a top player in my opinion. Pelle gets stick, but he hit 16 goals this season and that's not a bad return really. More than Lukaku and co.
  20. He only went on loan to Millwall for a bit, but I think he knew he wasn't coming back and did kind of say his goodbyes then.
  21. Not sure why the dutch league has this stigma attached to it. Suarez bit his teeth there (pardon the pun) and he didn't turn out too bad. Depay isn't going to be bad either, and he came from there. Ruud, Bony, Van Persie, Robben, Overmars, Eriksen, Vertonghen , Vermaelen. You'll get an Altidore every now and then, but generally the standard being sent over to this league is pretty good.
  22. If anything proves how meaningless stats are, this is it: http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/05/26/lovren-v-alderweireld-how-the-two-defenders-compared-this-season/
  23. It's just my opinion, that's all. The club will always put an ambitious slant on it, but the truth is that it's never as straight forward as it first seems. Yep, Jay is a different example in terms of the injury...but it does show up what sort of complications can occur from knee surgery as opposed to the injury it's self. Let's just see what happens over pre-season, I'm sure they'll give him another scan and they'll be able to see how the operation went, how it's healing. Then they can put real timescales on a return, although complications can still change that.
  24. Hopefully they only took the beta black box, as that had a few faults with it. Mistakenly churning out Forren, Mayuka, Gazzaniga.
