  1. I think on the outside, he's a good player. Always gives 100%, works his arse off, has a bit of quality, but agree with you on the wage. In my opinion, he's 60-70k p/w tops. 200k p/w is crazy, and Morgan has every right to start screaming for that sort of wage if he moves!
  2. Jay has never really played as a striker for us. He just plays off the left, usually quite centrally, to join the main striker. I can imagine that's where he'll play. I don't think he's guaranteed that he'll become a first choice for us straight away though. I'd stick Tadic right, and Mane through the middle if i'm honest. But we'll have a few more additions to this area before the window is out, so lots of decisions to be made.
  3. Nah, it's from today - but their date is a bit mucked up I think.
  4. The people who hit adkins with the ''he didn't win the league'' stick (saint_lard only tbh). Have you considered where the teams that won the league are now? They are both languishing at the bottom of the NPC. So winning the league was actually pretty irrelevant for both of them. Whilst it's nice to have honors, the rate in which we've progressed since is of much greater quality. Maybe he did have good quality players to work with, but those 2 years under Adkins were terrific. We played an attacking brand of football, scored tons of goals and broke so many records. He created a winning mentality and the players all bought into that and the environment he created allowed them to fulfill their undoubted potential, which is why we are where we are now. Iv'e seen a fair few clubs in the lower leagues who seemingly have lots of money to splash on players, but fail to get over the line. The fact is that he was a good manager, he achieved 2 promotions and we are now sat in the top half of the premier league and in European competition. I think he laid some pretty strong foundations to have made this possible. No one is saying he was a world beater, but what I recognize is that he was a very important cog in our recent history - and thankfully the majority of supporters feel that way.
  5. I think we have the Lunatic Fringe on this thread.
  6. I would have thought so, the bloke looked dead on his feet in the play off final.
  7. This is exactly it, which people don't seem to grasp. Under Cortese there was genuine growth for the club, L1, NPC, bottom half of PL...but now, a club of our size has hit it's ceiling. The players know that themselves. That's all it is.
  8. If this is how we're going to react when any of our players mentions the thought of another club, then we're going to have a very long 6 weeks. Bring on the season.
  9. Good for him. Trash player.
  10. Nah. Suarez did the same last year, Lukaku is doing the same at the mo. Bale did the same before he moved from Spurs. Ronaldo before he moved to Madrid. It happens because it's the question of the month to ask...and they'll obviously give an answer like that. It's just generic really. Of course they'd like to play for that club, but if they don't bid, we don't accept, then it's a non-discussion point. But that doesn't sound interesting in the press, so they need to make a story.
  11. No ****. The only reason he jumped is because he got wind of something brewing, in my opinion.
  12. Our new GK shouldn't be seen as a number 2, they need to be a number 1 straight away. That's why I think this guy will just be a loan as squad cover, we'll get an up and coming young keeper to replace Forster. That's my feeling anyway
  13. I think we're after 2x keepers, 1 loan and 1 youngish. This will be the loan I imagine.
  14. Good riddance to bad rubbish. This will allow a total restructure of the most corrupt organisation on the planet.
  15. Blatter has resigned.
  16. Out of interest, how did he really do at Boca? I saw he scored a few goals, but don't know more than that.
  17. Brendan Rodgers will survive as Liverpool manager - but only if he accepts the transfer policy implemented by the club's owners. I wonder what that policy will include? ''Don't spend any more of our flaming money''.
  18. Now that most clubs in the world have done a ''try, but no thanks'' with him, maybe we're big enough for him now? Utter cock. If it's a free transfer, then go for it.
  19. He used to be, but these days he's primarily used as a Xavi type MF, but slightly deeper.
  20. We've got 2 more years of the psycho.
  21. He is an absolutely horrific human being. We must have some sort of grounds to be able to cancel his contract without payment? (obviously not on this incident, but his fighting with players at Inter, here...coaches...) Let him rot in some lower brazilian league somewhere.
  22. Utd have been sniffing, Chelsea will be looking to replace Ivanovic sooner rather than later, City with Zabetta.
