Lol, I think it's hilarious that people are getting their knickers in a twist because he's not as big a name as someone else and they haven't heard of him. I didn't realise that being a ''well known'' name equaled the success of a manager. I'm glad the club have the eyes and sense to look beyond a 'name'. Seriously, if some of the utter morons on this board were put in control of our football club then we would be long gone down the leagues. As I thought, not one person who is 'against' this has a valid reason as to why.

Can I put this question out there, what are the reasons people are disappointed? I've not seen anyone state a valid reason for being underwhelmed or disappointed, so I'd be interested to know why people feel this way as I'm a bit confused.

It's true though. He may have wanted to end on a high, but that wouldn't stop the media asking about his future every.single.week. That wouldn't stop potential signings asking the question ''But what happens next summer?'. The club looked at what was more damaging to their prospects and having an uncommitted manager who was off next season probably pipped it.

Anyone who cannot see the issues associated with an uncommitted manager sticking around for 1 more year is a bit dim.

Cheers, seems fair enough to me. From all I can see, the criticisms seem to be around a couple of things. 1) - He's not Pellegrini 2) - He's not a well known name Not entirely sure those are fair criticisms to label against a potential manager who, on paper, has a very impressive CV. It's not about the name, as we should know all too well, it's about how that individual fits with the rest.

I didn't see Pellegrini as a fit though, he was just a name. This bloke seems more of a fit in terms of the style of play, very MP like.

Going by the unbelievable reactions in this thread, the club have probably pulled one out of the bag again.

Is there something I've missed as to why people are dismissing him and putting him in the category of Wigley and Gray? I've not really heard a great deal about him, but a quick glance at what he's done in France suggests he's one of the better managers over there. His style of play sounds great fun. So, what exactly is it that people aren't happy about with him?
