Tottenham build up thread ...a question posed
S-Clarke replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
The north london yobo's aren't happy with it, saying it's too big a ban. It was a nothing incident, apparently. I kind of agree, if someone tried to gauge my eye out at the weekend I'd laugh it off - just proper banter! -
Yeah that's exactly it, not sure why the media/press are getting their knickers in a twist over it all. Simple maths - win 2 games, get 63pts, 90%+ chance of finishing top 7 I'd say. Worry over.

I wonder where toe_punt went? It's not like he was made to look like a fool or anything. -
There's more chance of me marrying Cheryl Fernandez-whatsit

Another classic thread from 9-3.
-
But what he said is basically no different to what Raneri has come out with this year.
-
This thread is a fine example of why you can never snapshot a period of games and conclude the entire outcome of the season based on that period. I think our early exit from Europe hurt us mentally, I think it affected us more than we let on. We fought so hard for that last year and to go out so meekly must have dropped the morale.

Well that's quite a lot of waffle. Les Reed came out last year saying that we have no intention to sell players, we're not looking to sell, we don't need to sell. So we sent out exactly the same message last year. Although players talk, money talks, agents talk. We didn't have the intention, but if the players decide their future isn't here then you are pushed into a bit of a corner. Let's see how Leicester react when their players start asking to leave, although with CL football and a winners medal, they may not be in as such a rush to leave. Everyone on here has ambition, we all want to win and we all want to see success for our club. I didn't hear any Leicester fans slamming Raneiri for targeting safety in December, that's not exactly showing ambition is it? We are in no different a position to Leicester, people cannot start coming out now and saying ''Oh i wish we were like Leicester, i wish we showed ambition, i wish'' - they've shown no more or no less ambition than ourselves. If anything, Leicesters success vindicates our approach in scouting, transfers and management.

Momentum is so important in any sport, but Leicester have achieved what they did through momentum, self belief and confidence. If you foster a good team spirit and get a real momentum behind you, you can be tough to stop - no matter how much money other teams have spent. The league is more of an even playing field these days, there are quite simply no easy games. It's not all about how much money you spend and who has the biggest net spend - it means nothing. I'm comfortable with the way we do things. Just imagine this place last summer if we'd signed a free transfer left back and a Stoke city squad CB. There would have been uproar. But this achievement shows that football is still about more than just money and finances, which is very refreshing at a time when there were talk of the rest 'pulling away' for ever. A team spirit and a self belief can still get you far. And also another point, I've seen it mentioned here and elsewhere that what Leicester did is what can happen when you 'Don't sell your best players' - but who the hell wanted Vardy, Marhez, Huth, Morgan on the back of last season? Maybe a few NPC clubs? This summer will be the test to see who they can keep hold of, and I really hope they can - I'd hate to see them ripped apart by the big boys.

I'm going to put a bet on Burnley to win it next year.

He would have needed 10 to be banned. -
Weird post. Surely the last two windows have given us more than enough reason to trust them? We're probably the best run club in the league. If you want to moan about 'boards' then take a look on Villa's, Newcastles forums.

As he already had a yellow, that's that. No more can be done. -
I think the 2nd yellow was on his mind and MP's too - but yeah, they looked gone in the head. They've always been quite a fragile team mentally, historically. They will be low as hell next weekend, no doubts about it.

Can I just put this out there? ''Peter Schmeicel has won the league, had a son, and that son has won the league in the time since Liverpool last won the league'' -
Cannot applaud them enough. This has been the most weird season in English football, ever. You can't help but have a laugh at the likes of Utd who spent £200m+ in the summer and they are no where near. Leicester has given everyone hope, this is easily the most competitive league around at the moment.

I don't think Lamella will be banned tbh, Dembele will be the only one who is given a ban for the season. I reckon Rose went off to protect him from getting a 2nd yellow......I don't think he was injured.

Also worth noting that we're pretty secure in the top 8 now, Chelsea have to win their 3, we have to lose 3 and they have to overtake our GD too. -
Yeah, i'm stunned there weren't any red's tbh. It was on boiling point for 90mins. I thought the ref had a good game until he conveniently ignored the Dier hack.
-
No idea why the Dier tackle was ignored, should have gone straight back to that after the Mason yellow. But Spurs looked shot at the end, absolutely gone. Their heads were all over the place. Absolutely remarkable that Leicester have won the league, I never thought we'd ever get a situation like this in football with all the money in it.

I think I've found a picture of Charlie's bedroom -
Or we could just continue to play him as a CB and buy an attacking midfielder.
-
Don't give him airtime, hopefully he'll be banned soon.
