Atletcio are also considering selling Miranda in this window, who Chelsea have also been monitoring apparently. This one will run and run, I guess it will be up to the club to decide when to move away and onto a replacement.
  2. Some people aren't all about money, especially when they've still got plenty of mileage. I think Clyne is guaranteed a big move in his career sooner rather than later, so this isn't to be seen as a ''last chance'' for his big move or anything like that. At this moment in time, looking at football-matters only, it's not the most stable of moves. He can and will do much better. He should bide his time and wait for a big, big club to come in.
  3. Not sure you should be announcing that on a public forum tbh. Each to their own I guess.

Absolutely. He's not just a CB for us, he's an additional DM and a right back. As you said, he's 3 players in one..... He'd be 4th choice at Chelsea I imagine, but they probably see him in the same way as us - cover at RB, cover in CM. Bit of a jack of all trades for them, but I doubt he'd go there as a regular starter - especially with Zouma waiting in the wings also. I honestly believe that Toby will only go to a club whereby he is seen as a key player and an important player, who plays every week if fit. The difference with Toby is that he's tried a big club (A.Madrid) and hasn't been a regular there. He's already on decent $$ there and I doubt Chelsea will throw 100k+ at him, as they'd see him as a squad player. I'm somewhat still confident we can keep him, but it will drag I reckon.
  5. Schneiderlin speculation would be better
  6. Yeah, that England call up was typicaly Roy. Interesting to see that he's now been demoted back down to U21 now though. Don't even think he's first choice at that level.

Probably because we didn't have much else, might as well play your full available squad for a game which has stuff playing on it. I think Djuricic was given an opportunity to really sell himself v City, but for me he didn't take it at all.
  8. More Sadio, I think. It freed up some extra, unexpected cash though. I remember at the time, Koeman was quoted as saying it was a nice ''gift''.
  9. This was the transfer which annoyed me the most, 1) because at the time it seemed as if we were selling anything that could walk, and 2) because it showed there is simply not an ounce of loyalty in the game. In hindsight, it was a good move for the club financially, but for Callum, his head was turned by the big lights of London and the offer of $$$. Has he progressed since he's been there? No, if anything he has got backwards quite quickly. It seems as if he's not even seen as a RB, he's seen as a CB for them. So as long as Per and Laurent are fit, and Gabriel is available, he's got a long flaming wait for any sort of a game time. Give it a year or so and he'll be heading out on loan to a lower half PL team, and we'll still be £16m better off.
  10. That was last week. I think he had a change of heart after Utd seemingly backed away, the club then got optimistic and everything seemed in order. Then Liverpool came knocking and it's thrown it all up in the air again. I do have a feeling though that if he was going to sign, he'd have done it by now. The club were very, very confident (Reed and Koeman) so obviously there has been a massive swing over these last 7 days.

Which RK interviews out of interest? I wouldn't expect either to be here to be honest, I'd be quite alarmed if Elia turned up here again next year. Although at a push, Djuricic on another loan may be something. But if we sign either of those long-term, then we need our heads seeing to.
  12. I 'think' he was being sarcastic, but you can never tell on here! It would help if they added a little wink or something...
  13. Agree, Man Utd need extra faces in Midfield. I think he'd improve most teams in the top 4 to be honest, but Man Utd seem to have the biggest opening for a player such as Morgan. I imagine they'd play him and Carrick, with Mata and Herrera in front - that's pretty tidy to be honest. Even that one addition to the midfield would improve their balance no end. I have no problems with him going to Utd. A club with huge dollar, massive global status, back in the UCL, they will challenge next season - it's a no brainer. I can only wish him all the best, we got a lot of mileage out of him, probably some of his best years - so let's be grateful for that.
  14. It was never on.
  15. I don't think people are saying that Liverpool is a sideways move in terms of a club, they are historically a massive global football club - but right now at this moment in time on the football side, he could do a hell of a lot better - in my opinion. Who knows how long Rogers will last for a start. They'll go into next season without Sturidge, Sterling (probably) and Gerrard. Given their recruitment over the last 3 seasons has been nothing short of shambolic, I don't think anyone can be sure that they'll do well to replace those. It's a bit of a gamble football wise, but if he's the sort of guy that gets taken aback by $$$$ then that could well be the option. If I was Clyne, I'd take the contract offered by the club - with a release fee. Carry on your progression at a stable environment, continue playing for England, and get a taster of European competition. In a years or so time, he will have much bigger suitors than Liverpool. (Just my 2 cents)

Officially they go up until the last few days of June, on the opening of the transfer window (I think). But given that we've heard zilch of Filip or Elia so far, would kind of suggest there is no intention to keep them.
  17. Boro, Fulham, Swansea got there via cup's though (and possibly fair play). So none of those sides at the time of qualifying were ''high'' up in the league to earn a place that way. Everton have been in and around the top 6 most seasons for the last 10 years or so, they're an example of a club who have been able to compete in both situations. This season was an odd one for them and I wouldn't put it solely on the European matches either. I think the clubs who qualify for the Europa League via the league are in a much better position to at least consolidate their general position in the league. We've been in the top 8 now for 2 seasons.
  18. It'll just keep the order going at the top. Bigger clubs, more money, better players, bigger gap. The only thing this new TV deal will do is allow Man Utd to splurge more £300k p/w contracts on players.
  19. Ronald Koeman has confirmed Saturday that he has an interest in Feyenoord captain Jordy Clasie , has been playing nothing yet. Koeman opposite FOX Sports : . " There is no concrete interest in Jordy Clasie But should something happen , he is certainly on our list , '' said the coach of Southampton. With or without Clasie for Koeman and Southampton awaits a European adventure . "We have already entered the break with a good feeling , but this makes it really special season . We are very proud ," rejoices the coach .
  20. wtf? they're not like some sort of service to us. And we're not even in a transfer window for another month.
  21. BT have all Europa League and CL games, no other broadcaster has a sniff. (Apart from highlights)
  22. Not like ourselves and Liverpool to be after the same players. He'd be a good alternative for Liverpool to Depay, if they were actually in for him.
  23. He's absolute class.
  24. Don't think this has been posted, but it seems as if the club have fed a little bit of info to the echo http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/12980587.Saints_still_hope_for_Clyne_deal_with_Liverpool_primed_for_second_bid/
