  1. Yeah, for that level the front players are incredibly impressive. Should be plenty of goals in that lot.
  2. Could have said the same for Shaw....Chambers....Theo....list goes on. If the money is flashed in front of these young players eyes, then their heads are turned. I don't believe sterling a single jot when he says it's not about money, it clearly is. He'd get himself a nice signing on bonus on top of a hefty wage. By all account's he's a bit of a ''playa'' and wants to move down to London to be back with his 'crew'. I think he's a good player, but incredibly badly advised and that will undoubtedly be his undoing.
  3. He's a tad suspect, but for us he's a pretty good fit. Right sort of level we should be aiming for. Don't think he's a Top 4 keeper in all honesty at the moment, but for a club like us he's probably as good as we can get. Happy if it comes off.
  4. As above really, but this is the full squad - Goalkeepers Marcus Bettinelli (Fulham), Jonathan Bond (Watford), Jack Butland (Stoke City) Defenders Calum Chambers (Arsenal), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Luke Garbutt (Everton), Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough), Carl Jenkinson (Arsenal, on loan at West Ham United), Michael Keane (Burnley), Liam Moore (Leicester City), John Stones (Everton), Matt Targett (Southampton) Midfielders Tom Carroll (Tottenham Hotspur, on loan at Swansea City), Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea), Will Hughes (Derby County), Jake Forster-Caskey (Brighton & Hove Albion), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Alex Pritchard (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathan Redmond (Norwich City), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) Forwards Benik Afobe (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Patrick Bamford (Chelsea, on loan at Middlesbrough), Saido Berahino (West Bromwich Albion), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Danny Ings (Burnley), Cauley Woodrow (Fulham) Not a bad squad all being told - but would have liked to see Barkley included, don't see why he couldn't have been. Luke Shaw wasn't selected because of on-going concerns over his fitness, even though he wanted to go. Oh well, what a season he's had. His place in the squad seemingly taken by our other young academy left back....
  5. Not really much difference to be honest, which kind of shows that Adkins wasn't really bad - he was just working in a tough environment. That's what fans don't seem to understand sometimes, Sunderland being a prime example - they go through managers like nobody's business, yet I can pretty much be sure that they're not all crap. What is crap is the club structure above the manager, which doesn't exactly create an environment for anyone to thrive. Exactly the same as Newcastle with Pardew and now Carver, Keegan before them.
  6. I would imagine everything possible is being done to ensure Morgan plays, given that it will probably be his last appearance for us.
  7. Actually, Liverpool tried to sign him last year but didn't want to pay what Chelsea wanted. So it's fair to say we jumped in front of them for him!
  8. No, he doesn't even make the bench anymore. Not injured. The word is that he's being ''developed'' into a CB.
  9. Well, from what I've read, they won't be spending big - because they can't. What with the stadium and training ground, the focus is on unearthing players that aren't quite as well known for smaller fee's, who can be developed. Very similar to our model and one of the reason's Mitchell was snapped up by them. I remember seeing some direct quotes from MP along the lines that they're not able to offer the fees and wages the big clubs can, so they have to be more clever. I don't see how they can offer what we want for Morgan, their days of spending £25m+ on players are over for now.
  10. Or Chambers.... their careers have gone sooo well since they moved, yet we don't ever hear anyone say ''they should have stayed here''. Wenger is on some sort of mission to turn Chambers into a quality CB (and typically, he's getting praised for it....), but I don't see it, he'll just drift around like Jenkinson. Good move Chambers.
  11. It just won't happen, they may be interested, but I cannot see how or why it would happen. The transfer fee for a start would be impossible for Spurs to hit, and It wouldn't benefit Morgan in the slightest. He'd have the same chance of getting CL football with us as he would with them, i.e very slim. He'd ruin his reputation here if he jumped to that hole, as he'd have been proven to be speaking a load of trash about needing to play in the CL. I'm convinced bigger clubs will be interested and he should hold out for them. Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge him a move - but if he ends up at Spurs he will be rightly ridiculed.
  12. I think most neutral fans feel the same about that club, so could be anyone! Maybe even a Manc. They're a club living on past glories, the reality is that they are now in the bracket of clubs outside of the top 4, same level as Spurs. They will have to get used to that. What they won in the past doesn't mean anything, they are now a notch or 2 down from the 'top' clubs in this league. Players will leave because they can achieve more at a bigger club. Like ourselves, they also have a position on the transfer food chain. What annoys me more than anything is the constant media love-in. But it doesn't help that the media is dominated by ex-liverpool people. I wish they'd all just wake the **** up, realise that last season was odd and not a fair reflection on the size of their club in this day and age. If they want to be up there with City, Arsenal, Utd, Chelsea, then they will need to stop splashing £20m on LOLVren's.
  13. He had the resources here, but he made it work. It's no mean feat going from L1 to the PL like we did and he will always be fondly remembered down here. Loved his constant positively, and the records we broke under his stewardship. A genuinely top bloke and I hope he gets a good job sooner rather than later.
  14. If anyone wants a bit of a giggle, head over to the Spurs forums and have a read through their transfer thread: http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/community/threads/transfer-rumour-thread.7527/page-16 A few highlights - some ITK's genuinely think they have a chance of getting bale back. And also that they're still even in for Jay, even though he's signed a new contract. That was just in place to drive up his price apparently. Oh, and that they're pushing really hard to get Morgan and that Morgan really wants to join Spurs. It's a load of waffle, good laugh though. Oh what I'd give to finish above them, even if it's on GD.
  15. Was more of a shock lol than anything amazingly drastic. Didn't expect to see a score like that, you took my post a little too seriously!
  16. I wouldn't wish QPR on anyone. It's a mess from top to bottom.
  17. I will sit back and watch the meltdown continue over the summer. Rumours on twitter that Ibe has rejected his contract as well.
  18. Really interesting SA - Cheers for the write ups.
  19. What's your problem?
  20. lol christ, 4-0 to City. Glad I didn't make the call to go tonight!
  21. Weird coincidence, but yeah - Hull played Man Utd at home on the final day, lost 0-1 But newcastle played Villa away and also lost 1-0. Will be interesting to see what happens.
  22. hmm
  23. Does Benteke's goal not count? Still don't think Gazza is up to it, Saturdays game didn't really provide him with much of a test. We'll go with Davis without question.
  24. Mangala cannot seem to deal with pace or direct forwards, so Mane and Long should have fun up against him. I think he'll play as City probably want to run the rule over him to work out if he is good enough for next year. Depending on what happens tomorrow, it could be a nothing game. Even though Chelsea played a strong team last night, with the pressure off and nothing to play for it lowers your game - so hopefully we can have that scenario.
  25. I think it's more than a rumour, I believe according to Koeman that it's nailed on for him to get some game time.
