  1. Because he's signed for Arsenal.
  2. To me, this deal just confirms the the board have absoloutley no control over this situation. It has spiraled out of control and we're no longer controlling it. Agents, players and the other clubs are controlling our own situation. That's what happens when you have a board made up of people who don't have a clue.
  3. And it's a load of utter horse****. That's why I ask them to STFU, and get some players in. That's the only answer at the moment, none of these pathetic one line statements which take us for fools.
  4. “It is important in the transfer window to remain calm, resilient and above all patient'' Amazingly resilient, sold half our team. That's what you call resilience Sorry, but it's so easy to just rip apart his statement as it's full of horse****.
  5. “Calum made it clear to us that he did not see his future at Southampton. As such, it was crucial that we were able to negotiate a substantial fee that also reflects the work our staff have put into Calum’s development since he joined the club at the age of eight. Ok, so he wanted to go, so it was then crucial we sold him? How about you just sit him down and say no. Nice one. Good determination their Les, absoloutly breathtaking. They're taking us for fools.
  6. Les Reed: “Our position remains unchanged in that we are determined to keep our best young players at the club.” What an absolute load of horrendous bull****. Save us the **** take Les, you'll be facing a mutiny if this carries on.
  7. This has turned out much worse than even my most pessimistic outlook was suggesting. There is simply no positive spin to be made out of this. It is a complete and utter demolition of a football club.
  8. That's the scariest thing I've ever read tbh.
  9. A right footed genius. Can play on the wing, but prefer to operate in attacking midfield. Known for my pin point passing and long-range blockbusters. A life of booze and takeaways has meant that I've never been able to fulfil my potential.
  10. Especially when the plan is to give lots and lots of playing time to JWP and Reed this year.
  11. Not sure who is being ungrateful? We're just sitting here and watching our entire team being sold, with no sign of any replacements. Anyone who is right now trying to throw a positive spin on it is sat with their head in the sand. Fact. And who's rolling in it, exactly? Not us, I wouldn't have thought. She probably is, though.
  12. I think he was on about the market on the whole, doubt he was available for transfer. I simply think we received an enquiry and we smelt some money, so started talking. To me, this transfer seems to suggest that if any enquiry for any player is received, we will start talks/negotiations.
  13. It gets to the point whereby the fee received means absolutely nothing. We need a competitive team, and we don't have a competitive team at this moment in time. Reading Wengers comments, it doesn't even sound as if he was that fussed to get him this year either - said it's a gamble signing him. I'm sure if as a club, we'd have turned around to Callum and said.....1 more year, see where we are...and then to Arsenal..we're not selling him at the moment, I'm not sure we'd have had much of a fall out. This is one sale too far for me. The fee received is irrelevant.

    Koeman

Probably unintentional, but damn comedy genius by Koeman.

    Koeman

Better way of saying that would have been, that he's players short of a competitive starting 11.
  16. He isn't yet though, which is what makes this transfer bizzare. We usually sell the finished youth product, not someone who is half way there and is off to be a squad player. It doesn't make sense and the club have clearly just blinked at the fee, end of.
  17. All we need to see now are actions. Players brought in, contracts signed. Job done. Statements mean nothing, hollow words, often spoken by people who are trained to waffle. After what the likes of Ralf came out with earlier in the year, I hope the club keep quiet and just do what needs to be done.
  18. Don't think I'm regretting getting a ST, in some sort of warped crazy way, I'm looking forward to the season.
  19. Just trying to find something, anything, even a smidgen of something to be positive about right now. Struggling.
  20. Jeez, why do people do this!!! He was a damn, damn fine player. Best CB I've ever seen play for us.
  21. If these transfers clear the debt and any liabilities, then I'd say a PL football club with it's own fully paid for 32,000 seater stadium, and fully paid £30m training complex is an incredible proposition for someone. That's my positive swing on it.
  22. At least we're getting to the stage where we're running out of players we can worry about losing. Mayuka and Jos are here for ever. Got to be a positive?
  23. Clear the debts, remove the liabilities. Put the club up for sale with it's own stadium, own training ground - all paid for. If there is a positive to swing, that is an amazingly attractive proposition for any mega rich person to be offered. A PL football club with no debt and top class facilities. We need to stay in the PL though, enormous gamble what we're doing.
