  1. You never start high though, go in at a respectable level (7.5m for Forster is pretty respectable) and negotiate there after.
  2. Would be too sound additions - happy with both of them. Redmond would be brilliant in a Koeman side IMO. Tadic one side, Redmond the other, Pelle up top - could be quite tasty.
  3. Not played because he had a severe virus which affected the nerve endings in his legs. Would stay well clear myself.
  4. Never really did it for England. He was at his best for L'pool when Surrounded by proper world class talent in Alonso and Mascharano. He's not a bad player, don't get me wrong, just very over-hyped on the international stage.
  5. Can't say I'm too enthralled by Guidett's injury record. He had a severe illness (which affected all the nerves in his legs) and he's never really been the same since. A loan would be OK, wouldn't be parting with £6m big ones for him though.
  6. People half make a load of crap up just to make their point sound more dramatic. Why do that? It's because they don't believe their point is dramatic enough otherwise, therefore confirmation that they are going OTT. What people can't see to grasp is that we had quite a unique situation, a club like ours quite often has 1 top class player who is sought after - but Lovren, Morgan, Lallana, Shaw - top, top level quality players who are wanted by the elite all at the same time. What can we actually do about that? Ensure we get the best possible fee and move on....if you start blocking bids and rejecting bids as many here are proclaiming, then you get the terrific interviews appearing in the press from the Lovrens and the like. Is that what you want? We're not a big club, I don't care what anyone says or what anyone has bought over the last few years. We will never, ever make the champions league - our club isn't big enough for it, and if we ever did push for it, we'd likely end up in a right old mess. We're a provisional club on the South Coast, who have managed to gather a group of amazingly talented players. I'll throw this out there as this will screw a few arguments. Last season there were approaches rejected for Morgan (Napoli I believe), and NC said to give it one more year and then he'd be allowed to leave, as bigger clubs would want him. Trust me, NC knew exactly what was going to happen - and he got off like a shot as soon as the interest starting gathering momentum. It's ended up exactly how he wanted, he looks like some sort of messiah who held it all together and the new lot look like a bunch of weak sellers - but it's not the case, what's happening now would have happened under him as well. People do say that he wouldn't sell, but during his tenure one Top 4 club came in for one of our players - what happened? He left for Arsenal. You cannot stand in a players way if an elite club comes calling. We're just victims of our own success.
  7. Poorly managed, then.
  8. Sounds like the Belgium Revel Morrison.
  9. Sloppy seconds indeed. They seem to be filling their squad up with average for some random reason. In the hope that a bunch of average/decent players can replace 1 world class player - won't happen.
  10. Our midfield area is pretty strong to be honest, if there's one area that could absorb a sale it's the midfield area. Not that I want us to lose anyone, but we'd still be pretty competitive in there.
  11. And let's not forget Sinclair.
  12. Not smug at all. That doesn't say that there any formal bids down on the table, just faint interest - which is what I said anyway. I'm not sure why it's so hard to fathom - if there was a serious onslaught by an elite club to sign one of those 3 players, then they would have gone. There's no other debate to be had.
  13. The future of football is keeping the ball out at one end, and scoring at the other. It's really not that revolutionary!
  14. Sorry to burst your bubble, but he's in Madrid ahead of an £80m transfer from Monaco.
  15. Can you provide links to that? I honestly cannot remember. Maybe a few little glancing eyes and the like, but none of the elite clubs put serious money on the table for any of those players. That's why they all stayed. If Man Utd, Liverpool, Barca, PSG, Man City put serious bids down for club and player, they wouldn't be there any more.
  16. Ignore him, just a troll looking for bites.
  17. I can't see James Morrison, Chris Brunt, Steven Reid, Jonas Olsen or Shane Long interesting clubs in the top 4. The fact is that we probably should have done better, at least some silverware on the back of what was our best ever team. The players we have are being chased by the elite, that is the difference.
  18. Stop wumming, you're becoming very tedious.
  19. That window cleaner and Saint Charlie are annoying ****s at this moment in time.
  20. We haven't lost 5 or 6 players? We've lost 3, looking like 4. Atheltico lost Courtois, Costa and Luis - Koke is also the next off according to rumours. Big clubs circling the so called smaller clubs. Victims of our success, same with Feyernord. Welcome to football.
  21. Example of a good, collective defensive unit. Individually, not the greatest players.
  22. Crook is about as in the know as my dog.
  23. Not at that price, no.
  24. Even if we lose Lovren, that's 4. Where are the 6/7 coming from? Please don't tell me people are including Guly and Fox in any calculations just to make their point look more dramatic.
