  1. Fair enough, I'm just a little nervous if you know what I mean. I saw this all before with Wilde....meeting the fans, saying all the right things, getting everyone on side etc etc....but then never actually doing anything of note. Cortese was an arse, didn't communicate or acknowledge a great deal of our history...but his actions spoke a hell of a lot louder than his words at the end of the day. I truly hope it's the same with these guys in the summer, but I just feel they're all talking a little to much at the moment without actually achieving a great deal. Let's wait and see.
  2. Not sure to be honest, he had a good spell at Swansea but was kind of found out in the end. Not entirely sure he's a perfect fit for our system as a starter, but as someone to bring off the bench...don't see why not, but I doubt he'd move to be on the bench! And I'm concious of filling up the team with squad players, I think anyone we sign should be automatically better than who they're replacing, and I'm not sure Dyer is. I can see us going for people like Chaulker to be honest, good player in a very poorly coached team. When he was at Swansea he was one of the better CB's in the league, so one bad season at Cardiff shouldn't finish him. Has a £10m release clause apparently, not quite sure he's worth more than Lovren....but it's the price you pay for British players!
  3. City have 1 and a half hands on the trophy now. Won 4-0 tonight and have gone 2 pts clear with 1 game to play, at home...against WHU. I think we all know where this is going to end! Also Sunderland won again....incredible really. Norwich relegated tonight, which is staggering really considering their transfer policy was amazing and we let ourselves down by not following them, or something.
  4. Well it's good to know that he's at least in contention, and is at least being thought about least!
  5. Thanks for sharing FF. You cannot disagree with the fact that he talks a very good game, always impressive with what he has to say. I guess the real answers will be made in the summer though, when it's time to start putting the words into action...
  6. Not sure Durham is worth listening to to be honest. He just spouts his opinion as if it's fact, then belittles anyone who disagree's with it. Hang on, does he post on here?
  7. Hang on a minute Bear, aren't you forgetting something? Arsenal actually signed him back in 2008, he's just on a long-term loan to us whilst we develop him! (apparently).
  8. In the context as a title challenging team, then yeh...they're **** as they don't have the calibre or depth of squad, but as a PL club in the middle of the league they are better than us in terms of personal. It's just the case that they've been abysmally managed over the last 12 months. I think the league table looks pretty fair this year. We're top of the rest, which is about right in my opinion. The Spurs/Evertons/Man Utd's have their own European mini-league, and the other 4 are the proper title contenders. The teams relegated are those which fart arsed around with the managerial setup, so it's all pretty much gone as you'd have expected.
  9. Yeah, that was a good pick. I think it could have gone to either Cork or Davis to be honest, but it's nice for Corky to get some recognition as he's often slid away into the background - but he's a massive part of our squad. Kind of makes me ask the question as to why the club haven't sorted out a new contract yet. Most clubs do not let their better players go past 18 months left (we never used to tbh).......otherwise the vultures start circling, pre contracts get offered, etc.
  10. End of an era tbh.
  11. Again, you continue to prove you are a bit nuts.
  12. Would be sickening to watch, but unfortunately looks far more likely than seeing them representing us.
  13. Completely ignoring the body lanauge, tone, stutter at the start, past tense talk and the choking up. He knows he's probably going to have to leave, so don't try and deny it.
  14. There's no probably about it, he's good enough to be making a name for himself in the Champions league and he probably knows that. As much as he'd probably love to do it with us, he knows that it will simply never ever happen. So he'll go, along with Shaw and probably Morgan and Lovren too. It seems like a repeat of the last time we got to 8th, no ambition to drive any further forward - but perhaps as a club, this is literately it? Kind of does make you disillusioned with it all, after such a great season where we've established ourselves so well....we go into the summer fearing the worst and a potential relegation scrap next year. It's crazy.
  15. But unfortunately we all know deep down that those assurances will not arrive.
  16. The last position we'd want to add to, I'd have thought.
  17. It's the same as is coming from all the players. I think they love it here, but if we stop progressing and start to stagnate then they will want to go. I think they're all ambitious enough to be wanting us to compete with Spurs and the likes, but I honestly don't believe the finance or ambition is there for us to get there...therefore, they'll probably go.
  18. Adam Lallana - players player of the year.
  19. The idea to stream this live is genius by the way, the clubs media team are truly top class.
  20. Would probably need an injury to Johnson for Clyne to be considered.
  21. I like it, unique and easily identifiable. See it anywhere in the world and you instantly know it's ours.
  22. Interesting that it's going to be live, good touch. Will be something to watch tonight!
  23. Interesting, but surely a bigger punishment would have been a transfer ban? Fining a PL champion £50m is loose change to them and doesn't actually help the route course...as they'd still be losing money! £50m doesn't really set much of a marker though. A much better punishment is a transfer ban for 2 seasons, as by failing the FPP they have shown that they've been unable to operate responsibly in the market....so they should be stopped from being allowed to operate in it! To be honest, Man City will probably say..look, we'll chuck you another £15m, let us have a full CL squad next year....''Oh OK City, thank you'' will most probably be the response. A financial punishment for clubs like City and PSG is kind of a let off to be honest.
  24. Interesting listening to him last night, his future is far from certain there. The way he was talking you'd think his contract is up in the summer, but he has 2 years. He's meeting with the Palace chairman in the summer, as rightly so...he probably believes after what he's achieved, he should be allowed to push the club on and really consolidate them. Whether Palace will be able to provide the same level of financial backing as stoke remains to be seen however, but that's probably the sticking point. He'll be off if there's no real ambition there. He's kind of in a win-win, he's in a position to demand from Palace after what he's done for them, and if they don't provide him what he wants, then his stock has never been higher...
  25. What a pants idea. Way to go FA.
