He was going to join up in the last friendly, but the U21's wanted to keep him. I reckon he'll go to the world cup if I'm honest. England need to be realistic. We're not going to win it this year, or come close....so we might as well use this amazing experience to blood the players who will be there next time. Get the likes of Barkley, Shaw, Chambo, Lallana etc all involved. This world cup needs to be looked upon as an opportunity to expose talent to tournament football, not as an opportunity to win it.

Really surprised to see Gaston back so soon, that looked such a bad injury. Got a good feeling regarding him and the run in. No pressure in terms of our league status, so go out there and impose yourself on games.

At home, teams like to park the bus and close us down. It makes it very hard to find any openings or space through the middle. Teams that come to St Mary's are often quite happy with a point, so don't set out to attack that vigorously. Away from home, however, the home side have to show an apatite to win. That opens the game up and allows players like Jay and Adam to express themselves a bit more - Jay particularly has been much more effective away from home, mainly due to his pace on the counter.

Bit of a cult hero really. You always have players during an era who aren't brilliant....but are still really popular, and Guly is one of those. He's not an amazing player, but he's made a terrific contribution to us over the last 3-4 years. 100 apps now for us, which says it all. He's a good lad and is well liked around the place, would be sad to see him leave, but hope he manages to get a club over in Brazil. He definitely deserves a fitting send off in the Man Utd game.

I still don't understand this panic whereby we cannot play more than 1 game a week. Does everyone still remember the L1 and Champ days? Morgan, Lallana, Lambert, Fonte, Cork played Tuesday > Saturday > Tuesday throughout the season, we didn't panic about fitness then. They're professional footballers supported by an excellent set-up. We're more than capable to handle 2 games a week.

Indeed, based on the mid-week results, this could be an enormous win for them. Bet spurs are gutted!

Fulham are down and out.

Liverpool have a last minute penalty at Fulham.
-
Arsenal are trash at the moment.

Looks like we're safe and sound in 8th. Spurs 2 up

He is such an awful player. Woeful. Hope he plays when we face Liverpool.

Southampton have won back-to-back away Premier League games for the first time since September 2001, 104 matches ago. Holy jebus, we really are in a new era...!
-
"For me, if you take away the big boys, Southampton are the best team in this league and once again they made life very difficult for us," said Bruce.
-
I keep wavering as he has been incredibly frustrating, but his appearances prior to injury have reignited something about him, there's talent there waiting to burst out.
-
Don't forget young Gaston as well, still think he'll have a part to play.

That bloody Cortese was holding us back.

There was quite a funny moment, where he decided he was going to tie his shoelaces. So he took off his gloves and did it. He then decided to take a comical amount of time to put the gloves back on, and when he started getting booed (as it was a GK) he started jeering and jestering back at the Hull fans! He's a character...

Maya was nursing injuries throughout the first part of the season, didn't help that he missed a good chunk of pre-season due to the confed cup. Good squad player though, and seems to have improved under MP's guidance. Good to see.
-
TBF, he should do. I think Yoshida is still a great squad player, but you don't leave out one of the best defenders in European football if he's available!
-
Yep, we're getting ourselves back into gear - which was always going to happen once we navigated through that awful run of fixtures with a thread bare squad. Reality is that we're a decent side at this level, just not quite good enough to go toe to toe with the top 4 when we have injuries. Not too shabby really.
-
In my eyes, MP's most consistent player. He's been solid ever since MP has been here, he seems utterly perfect for the way we want to play.

Someone like Hernandez @ Utd would be pure perfection for this team.
