  1. This time last year we had 3 points with a GD of -8 pretty conclusive in terms of progress.
  2. We're a completely different defensive outfit to what we were at the start of last year. We read the game well, we position ourselves well, players are always available for cover. We're an incredibly well drilled defensive unit and you can see the work in training coming out on the pitch. We might not be massively exciting to watch at times, but we'll probably get more success by focusing on having a solid game if we're honest.
  3. I thought we were very professional today, whilst not being amazing. I think the most positive thing to come from today (apart from the 3 points obviously) are the 2 goals for our strikers, that will set them up nicely for the coming weeks. The longer a striker goes on without a goal, the more it plays on his mind and the more they try to do whilst deviating from their natural game, hopefully we'll see more free and confident performances from Rickie and Osvaldo here on here, let the goals flow.... Palace huffed and puffed, but are your typical relegation fodder team. We could have had more goals if we wanted as they were particularly poor at the start of the 2nd half and they completely crumbled in front of our eyes. Great points tally, great goal stats and a great position in the league table. We've put ourselves in a position to seriously kick on now.
  4. I think he's obsessed with making a fool of himself, really quite odd.
  5. 90% of your posts over the last 2 months have been about how crap Wanyama is and how we need Cork back. Are you related to Cork or something?
  6. The draw is on sky tonight, after the conclusion of the live game. And it's usually the last week of October.
  7. Puncheon can't play
  8. Ah, not the ''someone is due a thumping'' line. I lost count of how many times I heard that at the start of our championship relegation season. I think the script was mis-read though, as we were the ones getting the thumping's in the end! I don't think we'll give anyone a thumping this year, most likely lots of 2-1's and 1-0's.
  9. Don't see the point in changing a thing, just because Gaston scored last night doesn't push him into the first team for me - as apart from that, he was his usual absolutely frustrating self. I think Morgan and Wanyama need time to bed in together and I think against Liverpool they had their best game as a partnership. Lambert and Osvaldo is worth persevering with, but if there was one to drop out it would be Lambert on current form. But there's no need to change anything at the moment (unless we have an injury). We look a real cohesive unit.
  10. Based on Sunday, he should be biting our hands off.
  11. Don't think it's in Holloways game to ever park the bus, they will come to attack us. Which is why they will be relegated.
  12. I thought we were run like a bed and breakfast?
  13. Rooney always has a mare, his ship sailed about 3 years ago. They should have grabbed the £30m Chelsea were willing to fluff on him. Surprised Young has been kept on. One of Utds worst ever players?
  14. Worst utd team I've ever seen. I'd be disappointed if we didn't beat them by a few on this showing. Cannot believe Felleni cost 28m. He's barley worth £10m. A quick glance on their forums show the Utd fans beginning to revolt.
  15. Man Utd are being destroyed.
  16. Mine is actually working today, after it didn't work yesterday. Go figure. but this has to be the worst ever Man Utd team I've seen. What the hell has David Moyes done to them? I've never seen them this bad, ever. I fancy our chances against them.
  17. Bruno Alves and Pepe are their first choice CB's. Backup is currently Luis Neto and Ricardo Costa of Valencia (we were actually linked with him in the summer) Nelson and Henrique are also probably ahead of him.
  18. We should, but we can't as we're no where near his level. About 20 or so clubs will be in the queue before us.
  19. His play from deep wasn't as good as usual, some of his passing and decision making was poor. Safe to say he's on a turgid run of form at the moment. Weird that it coincidences with international recognition. Shows how sparse we are in the striker department to be honest. I have been very, very impressed with Lallana this season. He probably should have put away that chance yesterday, but he's involved all the time and is making a real name for himself this year. Looks a real threat again.
  20. I can see why people may be a little frustrated with him, he's final pass or final decision wasn't always great - but it was his movement and his touches on the break which impressed me the most, some of his touches opened Liverpool right up. He's getting himself in the right area's, and was it not for 2 great saves in the last 2 weeks he'd be sat on 2 goals for us.
  21. I think Davis has been once of MP's best players, ever since he joined. He's perfect for the style he likes to employ, and if you look back - Davis was a key part in our wins against Chelsea and City at home last year.
  22. Osvaldo was not a disaster at all.
  23. Seeing as these threads are the theme at the mo, how about one for Fonte? He's been with us all the way and was often declared as not being up to this level. Well, for me, he now looks like a completley astute premiership centre back. It helps when you have someone of the class of Lovren next to you, but Fonte looks at home in the PL now and that's another great story to our ever-growing list in recent years!
  24. 2nd place in the MOTM stakes. Great to have him back, not many wide players will beat him. So quick, but also very determined in his play.
  25. He's our ''modern day'' killer. Has all the potential to have as big an impact on us as Killer did, maybe even more so.
