  1. Warn a Manchester United training top on their substitute bench.
  2. He more or less said on Goals on Sunday, that he wouldn't consider Lambert or Holt as they don't fit the way england want to play. How does Caroll? I think the bloke is turd, and I'm sure the only thing getting him a place is that he once cost £35m. If Liverpool hadn't paid that, he'd still be a Newcastle and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be playing for England. It's like the fact he cost £35m, means that every goal he scores is absolutely amazing. I remember when he equalized against us, he was in the team of the week. It was a flaming deflected scuffed shot! He did nothing else all game.......Lambert scored a 30 yarder against Chelsea, to win the match, and he didn't get a peep. It's like the entire country is still trying to justify his £35m price tag - well give up, he was never worth that and never will be. Liverpool had a mental seizure that day. Same old, same old in the rest of the squad though. No real surprise.
  3. Andy Caroll's done enough to be selected, f'sure.
  4. The BBC have done a great job of swinging Morgans words around right there.
  5. They've not signed either of them yet though, have they? So therefore, it's not exactly going to be done quietly is it? This is exactly the same as articles linking us with Jesus Gamez, Adrian etc. Once they confirm the signings, it's up for debate, until then it's all still media based stuff which is what we also are receiving.
  6. Felt proper sorry for Ivanovich during that!
  7. But I believe that convincing the estate to use those backers is what may be proving troublesome. I've got a feeling they want to do it their own way, and NC wants to do it his way. Not on the same page at the moment. Classic brinkmanship and it's going to be concluded at some point.
  8. You can kind of make transfers before then, but it's officially the 1st' Although, in England, the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, transfers between clubs in the same association can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July That's why I think the July 1st thing was a reference to that, rather than having specific signings done by that date.
  9. I don't consider myself to be either to be honest. I think I judge a situation how it should be judged, I don't knee jerk in either direction. Also, it's easy to lose perspective but that can be costly in terms of your final judgments. There have been some classic heat of the moment posts on here this year, but I think we're all just emotionally charged by the whole charade of the football club. Doesn't mean either ''type'' are less of a fan. I think there are some clear WUM's, but there are some right miserable ****s who are still as passionate as the rest of us. Sometimes it pays to take a couple of minutes before making a snap-post, as I'm sure quite a few regret what they've posted at times!
  10. I think we're all in danger of possibly reading a little too much between the lines here. The context of statements will still be lost in translation, so let's not get hung up on the specifics of the statements. For e.g, I don't believe he said we want all our players signed by July 1st. The plan will be to identify and evaluate the targets they want, so that come July 1st - the opening of the window - we can move pretty quickly to signing them. That doesn't mean they'll be done the next day, or the next week, as we know with transfers they can drag on, and on and on. I think we aim to have our targets finalised, but having them all done by July the 1st is pie in the sky stuff. It's giving more ammunition to the likes of Alpine when it doesn't happen!
  11. Michu, playing in behind Lukaku. That would work. I think Chelsea want a ready made Drogba and they see him as being still a bit raw, which to be fair he is - his levels of performances can be very erratic, so another year of playing regular PL football at a top half club doesn't doanyone any harm. He's still got 4/5 years on his contract, so Chelsea are letting other teams develop him basically. He will be a starter for them in a year or so, but personally they've studied him more than we have and can probably see he'd benefit from another year of regular, first name on the team sheet football.
  12. I don't think so, not as there are so few points between any of those sides. It'll look prettier but there wouldn't be a great deal of substance to finish 11th, or 15th for e.g. Financially it could help us, as there are a few extra £££ up for grabs, but in terms of us being attractive...I think the fact we're in the PL next season makes us attractive to a certain level of player.
  13. The propaganda machine is in full flow.
  14. Totally with that, and also Joe Allen...£15m. Downing, 18m. Sorry, but come on....Morgan is better than those players, so is worth at least the same or maybe a bit more. Anyone saying we're overestimating his value, is simply underestimating the current market value for players.
  15. You're probably right there to be honest! Maybe a championship club with a loan offer....
  16. Where's everyone who said NC can just be replaced, like any other CEO? ''It won't affect the club in anyway'' Of course not.
  17. Get used to it, this is what we'll get every week during this window. Shaw, Morgan, Clyne, Lallana.....then it'll rotate again. All 4 of those will be heavily linked away for the next 10 weeks. It's going to be uncomfortable or a bit, but I believe we can keep them. Anyway, the Italian league is anon-league these days. Can't see why anyone would move there to progress their career, it's dog ****.
  18. I agree, any of us fans could have done the same job. Let's go back to a fan on the board, it's the only way forward.
  19. Anyone who pays Joey Barton upwards of 50k a week deserve to go bust.
  20. Let's not. I don't think we've actually had a lap of honor for 2/3 years, which shows more to the success we've had than anything else. But this year, just stay in the stands...
  21. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11667/8513324/Frickson-Erazo-flattered-by-reported-interest-from-Manchester-United
  22. Is he though? When has he ever been £15m worth of CB? He's decent, but we'd have to completely break the bank to sign him, and he's not worth that.
  23. What a weird thread.
