True thorpie. Stripes or no stripes, we all still share one thing in common - we support this club.
-
It's a flaming kit for christ sake. They wear it for 90mins every week. If people pay £50 it's up to them, it's not compulsory to buy it. What on earth is the big deal? I don't get it. People getting worked up over the colour of a top doesn't quite register to me. Sod it then, let's go back to L1, maybe L2, but at least we'll have our stripes.

Hundreds according to the echo.

Let's see how this runs.

If I wanted to, I could edit that page to say he's signed for Acrington Stanley.
-
He would easily go for that sort of money. How many caps did Jordan Henderson have for England, before he was shifted for 18m?
-
lol 12m, brilliant. try swapping the numbers around, and you'd still even be slightly short.
-
We've been linked with him for a few weeks. Plays as a winger for Fenerbache, originally a Chelsea youngster, but they sold him off. He's turned into a pretty decent player to say the least. Would probably cost us between 6-10m.
-
Probably. Just hope we're not wasting time on players who'd never want to join us. Credit the ambition, but feel we're wasting our time on this one.
-
He is one hell of a player, would break our transfer record by about 10m. Inter, AC, Real, Spurs, City all linked with him. He'd command probably about 80k+ per week. Just can't see us paying what himself and his representatives want. We may meet Internactional's asking price, but that's only the easy part. Trying to convince a player of his stature to leave his home country for a middling English club will require lots and lots and lots of $$$$$$$$$

I don't think it's actually that bad?
-
Only 20mins to go until the club is destined for relegation.
-
I don't think anyone would really give a crap, other than us. For example, I really don't care what Cardiff have as a kit. Or anyone else for that matter, it doesn't embarrass anyone in my eyes.
-
It's a football kit. We wear it whilst we are playing football matches, and hopefully winning football matches. It won't stop us breathing, eating, living, or going on our day to day lives. Therefore, I don't really care what it looks like, as long as we win games of football and have an exciting team to follow.

Quick edit there, haven't been on here all day, so just finding out. I've lost my dollar.
-
This rumour has been floating around for days, but I'll bet my bottom dollar that we will not have any new signings tomorrow. Just a hunch.
-
I think City paid about £26m for him, but they paid it to that Kia Jorascram bloke (+sp). So that they ended up fully owning the player, as he had only ever been on loan at clubs up until then (West Ham/Utd)
-
That's brilliant to be fair. Loved that.
-
Just seen that Tevez is off to Juve for £12m. 12m???? This is the same transfer window in which Carroll cost west Ham 15m. Brilliant. Who says English players aren't overpriced?
-
He's progressed really quickly over the last 18 months, looks very impressive to me these days. Would like to see him gain a loan at a league club, think he's ready for it.
-
Exactly, I don't think a transfer committee is a bad thing at all - as long as it's fair, i.e you don't get the chairman trampling over everyone to sign who he wants anyway. But I think ours is pretty fair and well thought out, all our targets are pretty well researched you'd have to say, and apart from a few duds (De Ridder/Dickson etc) on the whole our last few years have been pretty fruitful transfer wise (the players we've bought in have improved us anyway).
-
To be honest, I'm pretty sure Hooper has been a club-wide target for ages - just as Jay Rodriguez was. Obviously he worked with Adkins etc, but he's a good player, so there's more reason to be after him. And it's pretty obvious that we don't sign players just on the managers decision, so if the manager does leave I can imagine the same targets stay in place - until the club has higher ambitions obviously.
-
It's my understanding that you are correct.
