  1. Rotherham = bogey team , that draw earlier this season was ridiculous, Martin got upset being booed off. Too much to me to you no end product passing in that one. Not beaten them since 1964-65 season , 6 games since then. Saw us lose there in 2002 FA Cup, awful performance at Millmoor. 2008 again terrible in the league Cup, think that was Don Valley stadium in Sheffield. 2024 - nice to tick off another new ground , 2,444 sold out away end, good numbers, looks a nice compact little ground, 11k capacity so we'll have fair chunk of the crowd. Train strike on East Midlands Trains causing problems.
  2. Sulemana, Bree, Edozie could all be available for the replay, Martin might be pleased to have the game to give them a run out.
  3. They did have some before Christmas in retro range but look like all sold out now https://store.southamptonfc.com/product.php?id=2786
  4. We'll have Aribo back from Afcon soon, will be surprised if Rothwell gets that many minutes unless we get injuries, doesn't look up to it at the moment.
  5. I really hope we can win the replay, chance to visit Anfield and pay our respects to the great Jurgen Klopp before he departs.
  6. Shea Charles needs to step up there today and avoid an early booking
  7. The line up, the assistant manager taking the press conference, we couldn't send a stronger signal pre match that we don't really fancy it.
  8. Football fans love a "homegrown" player, "he's one of our own" but reality is most top academies just nick players in their mid teens from other clubs, makes you wonder what the future is for youth development, not much point if the best players just end up leaving before establishing themselves anyway.
  9. They devalue their own competition so often, crazy.
  10. He deserved more respect, however: Going out of Europa league to Beersheeva was poor, negative tactics at home to them. Last 5 home games of the season I think we failed to score? However, that night at Anfield was one of the best, remember being with you when team news was announced, not many thought we'd keep a clean sheet, was it Stephens and Yoshida at the back?
  11. Isn't this the sort of thing Poch used to do, give his assistants a go, another why of highlighting lack of priority of this game
  12. If they're good enough they get a chance. Doyle has looked good in some of the B team games I've been to at Totton but nothing that really made me think he was worthy of a first team appearance as such.
  13. It's a good point, only need to give 2000 in the Championship so in the run in let's keep block 43 for ourselves and put it on sale from the start, not as an overspill once ground sold out. Some teams like Huddersfield, Hull, Preston (latter two midweek) will barely bring 1000 anyway, better filling the end than leaving blocks empty.
  14. What I don't understand is why the club are so slow opening additional blocks of the Northam when away teams bring small followings. We already know Huddersfield have only taken 1,400 allocation so open blocks 43 and 44 straight away to give fans the choice of buying there. Instead they wait for other parts of the ground to sell out first so additional Northam blocks just end up being last min purchasers rather than fans who actively want to be there.
  15. There are some trains but going long way round via Havant I think, ridiculous it moved from the Saturday (trains were going to be fine then)
  16. It's on a lot of tv channels, not sure if you can zoom in , it's on ESPN in the U.S. , thats from the FA website.
  17. Are we going to start doing pre match corteo walks as well? All the rage at the moment
  18. Leeds play twice before we play again so quite likely we'll be 4th albeit with games in hand. Should help focus the minds of the challenge ahead.
  19. Especially if Moyes is still manager.
  20. Thats the harsh reality that I'm sure Martin will be very aware of. Don't pat ourselves on the back for too long about the unbeaten run, ultimately might need to do it all again to keep up with the pace. We have bogey team Rotherham next, not beaten them since 1965. I only saw last 20 mins last night but thought Ipswich looked very good, especially Hutchinson running at Leicester causing them lots of problems.
  21. To understand why St Mary's is the way it is you need to go back to 2001 at The Dell. The Archers Road end had become the focal point for atmosphere to the right of the away fans, they pretty much all moved to the Northam. Continued standing. Lower East at the Dell also next to away fans, several of those I knew moved to Itchen North when we moved grounds. Milton Road was fairly flat for last few years at The Dell. All sat, distance from away fans, those moved to the Chapel. So it's not so much a St Mary's thing, it's a direct continuation from our Dell days, the difference being at The Dell away fans were stuck in the side split over two tiers so struggled to make much noise.
  22. It is confusing, a straight red is a suspension is all competition's, but not for yellows: Since the 2019/20 campaign, yellow cards in English domestic football are contained to the competition they were awarded in. If a player is booked in consecutive FA Cup games they will be suspended for their club's next FA Cup tie. But the same indisciplined individual would be available to play in the Premier League. The same rule extends across England's domestic competitions. If a player is handed a yellow-card suspension in the Premier League, they will be available for the next cup game, be that in the FA Cup or its Carabao equivalent. In the past, players could have timed their ban-inducing yellow card so that they could serve their league suspension during a cup tie. This is no longer the case
  23. We've had two attempts this season and failed to beat them
  24. I've watched back and Stephens passes were sloppy, he'll know that. Rothwell - just looked to me like he just wasn't sure where to play, contributed to us losing coordination in midfield, another full week training and have another go at Watford.
