anyone of the number of posters presenting the idea that a win tomorrow will somehow cause our squad great distress having to play more regularly in the 2nd half of the season. and as for those like "dr who" well he just sounds strange to me. I'd love to get to the later rounds just to hear him tell us all about not being remotely interested in the cup this season. Great news that the ticket sales are over 19k, hopefully good walk up get it up to 22-23k, just a shame saints didn't agree with Blackpool on lowering the prices further as we could have been looking at 26-27k. The fact we are £5 more expensive than Leicester v Man City says alot.

Yep will be at Oldham. and at the Blackpool game tomorrow. IF it was a choice between winning on saturday or tuesday of course the 3 points would be more valuable. but people have to get this idea out of their heads that the FA Cup is some kind of evil temptation trap set by the football devil that is going to lead us down the path of promotion failure. I'm sure we've both been following saints long enough to know we're more than capable of messing things up with or without a cup run. I'm a traditionalist, love the FA Cup, there is evidence in the past of worse teams than us getting to the semi finals (with the luck of the draw) so i say go for it and enjoy it. ca sera sera what will be will be............................

well then he is a moron of the highest order. ask him if he is going? or how many games he plans on going to this season. The Leeds fans i've come across who actually go to games all see that win at Old Trafford as THE HIGHLIGHT of last season, considering United are one of their major rivals, and the fans were buzzing from that result for weeks afterwards. There is no set formula in football where wins in the cup = drop in performance in the league, for most teams the cup can lift the fan base and create a buzz around the place, for the sake of 2 or 3 extra games it's hardly asking that much of the team. f*ck sake just enjoy the game tomorrow and stop bloody panicing about what might happen if we happen to do well in the competition!!
-
technically that is true, the station is closed, but that does not mean you cannot get there, normal trains are running to parkway / eastleigh with bus replacements from there, so it is business as usual just allow a bit longer for your journey.

Blackpool wanted lower prices, they even put it on their ticket news about the game.
-
That is absolutely pathetic in my opinion and shows how short sighted some managers are. He clearly didn't notice bottom of the table pompey in the final last year. or championship clubs Barnsley, Cardiff and West Brom in the semi finals 2008. I remember Wycombe and Chesterfield in the semi finals in recent times. What Holloway should be saying is they have zero chance of winning the premier league, but have a real chance of going through a few rounds of the FA Cup and who knows could get to Wembley in the semi finals.

any news on ticket sales for this one? I still think it is a shame we weren't prepared to reduce prices further to try and attract a few more fans to attend, I notice Leicester v Man City is £15 for adults (season ticket holders) and £20 for non-season ticket holders. I thnk we should have at least matched that and try to get 23-25k attendance. I am sure a few part time fans will do this one to see Blackpool play a super-star forward line of Euell and Ormerod

Eh? 1000? It's only just north of London, hardly a tough journey under one hour from kings cross and its not a bad drive either. Peterborough have one of the best terraced away ends left in English football , worth going just for that.

You do realise that the club made the whole chapel the family centre about a year ago so it's not just that corner anymore? (which is why the chapel is cheaper than all the other stands for league matches)
-
I watched the highlights on sky last night of their game v Birmingham, was an excellent match both team really going for it, Blackpool players sank to their knees at the end having lost to a last minute goal after giving it so much effort. Jason Euell came on and is a threat physically, but no pace, will be strange seeing Ormerod again will bring back a few memories. We might as well go for it, play a strong team, and as fans stop bloody panicing about what might happen and enjoy what should be a cracking cup tie. I noticed someone posted yesterday lunchtime that over 15k tickets had been sold, hopefully that gets over 20k and Blackpool bring a few down should make it a decent atmosphere.

how would you feel, having spent a fortune on getting a nice new hair-do, only for people to point and laugh at you as you walk down the street? I would not like to be referred to as a piece of fruit.

Seeing as you are a Hatfield lad you presumably know a few Spurs, or other London clubs, and will see them on the train on Saturdays when they play at home. I suggest you swop places and go and follow spurs or west ham for a few games, then come back to saints, and you will realise that we have one of the most docile unthreatening followings around
-
haha, herts saint you sound like you panic at the slightish bit of laddish banter in the away end, it's football, no one acted in a thugish way at Dagenham you're just trying to make it sound like there was a problem when there wasn't. the lad who was thrown out did nothing more than get carried away celebrating the goal when lallana ran right up to the barrier celebrating, hardly a disgrace to the club. He does almost every game home and away, rather have him standing in the away end with me than you. Agree with Saint Clark and Sour Mash that some of the songs were extremely cringeworthy, the strawberry song was as bad as the northam singing "you f*cking look like a lemon" to a keep in a yellow kit, same as "you f*cking look like a wotsit" to lewington of Mk Dons, some of the worst examples of un-funny football songs I've ever heard.

NYE is generally rubbish, what makes me laugh is all the people at work getting excited about asking each other "what are you doing for new years??" . For a lot of them I thnk it is just a chance to go out for a drink which is rare for them, whereas we do it every weekend at the football so don't need to mark the passing of time with an overrated attempt to "see in the new year" I'm not even entirely sure what people are celebrating? nothing has actually happened.
-
you can pay on the day in the home end, worth going down there, try and pick one up from other saints fans, then as a last resort go on the home terrace.
-
I understand your frustration mate, but disagree with this bit " No one in their right mind is going to travel and see that game again when it is re-scheduled" - why not? there are plenty of us who have lost out with Hartlepool and Walsall games being postponed having booked and paid for trains, as much as it frustrates me these things happen and I am still going to go to the re-arranged fixtures.
-
Ha yeah and Jason dodd going over to the 2 lads (tm and tb) saying think you lads better get outside its kicking off !! Your Herman heridersen casino story surely counts as an awkward moment!

Not so much uncomfortable, but on the pre-season tour of Norway 2007 ended up in a bar in Halden after the match, small town with not a lot going on, drinking away and in come the whole team, lead by Burley, clearly intent on getting smashed. Kareoke in the bar early on and having had a few beers some of us had a go, later in the evening there was a small dancefloor, re-call being on there trying to crack on to a Norweigan bird only to turn round to find a legless Burley trying his best to dance with a blonde next to her. Think Lallana was throwing up in the toilets as well. im sure plenty of you lot must have bumped into players out in town over the years.

of course there is. the district is only closed between embankment and aldgate, if you are coming into waterloo this wont effect you at all, jubilee line to west ham and then district from there to dagenham east. if you are coming from different parts of london use the journey planner on the tfl website http://www.tfl.gov.uk/

I agree with you completely mate, it is an absolute scandal and really winds me up that no one else in the media seems to highlight the fact that despite their financial cheating and fraud the skates still have one of the best starting XIs in the division, pleading for sympathy with their "small squad" and yet choose to ignore other players which are already available to them. they have been getting away with it for too long now, I have just accepted that they aren't going to suffer at all, play offs are still in their grasp this season. In my opinion they should have been forced to play their youth team with no further transfers until their debt to the charities and to the state (taxes) had been paid in full.

London Bridge is a good shout, but still involves a fair bit of tube time between pub and ground which could be a problem after a few pints!! There is a decent service running from Fenchurch St to Barking but depending on where you are coming from getting to Fenchurch st can be a hassle (and most pubs around Fenchurch st wont bother opening on a bank holiday monday as the city will be deserted), few pubs around Barking station not particularly nice but decent for a short journey of a few stops to Dagenham East. Remember drinking around there before West Ham away once and it wasn't too bad.

Looking forward to Dagenham this weekend, no doubt a high percentage of our 1200 will be ticking that one off for the first time, then got Peterborough and Rochdale in quick succession in February 2 more new ones for me. Looking at the current tables I'm hoping Hereford and Lincoln go down and get out of the 92 to be replaced by Luton and AFC Wimbledon to help boost my numbers!! anyone looking to do a game at the Emirates to do the ground there is a tasty international friendly there in February Argentina v Portugal http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/argentina-v-portugal-ticket-details saints currently aren't playing that night.

It is a very important game to win, with the backlog of tricky away fixtures we need to get ourselves ahead of the pack now to allow for points dropped later in the season. Despite being 2 points off 2nd we are also only 3 points off 13th so a couple of poor results could see us slipping rapidly down the table. Exeter have had some good results this season, winning away at Huddersfield 1-0 stands out, but looking on their fans forum they dont seem that confident. http://www.exeweb.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43704&page=3 Hopefully they bring a decent following for this one, any update on the number of tickets sold?
