  1. This point is important, bloke behind me at the game yesterday seemed to blame Jones for everything, f'ing Jones this and that, reality is he's out of his depth , I know via a contact at Luton that Saints made very clear we wanted him and can't really blame him for taking the job. The board and players deserve a lot of the criticism.
  2. Yep completely uncoordinated, American style manufactured atmosphere, terrible
  3. In some ways would a draw be worse than a defeat? Imagine having to host a replay at an empty St Mary's
  4. It does feel fairly pointless, playing what will probably be our reserves v Palace reserves in a half empty Selhurst Park on a lunchtime ko, we've sold over 3500 tickets though all things considered that's an excellent following. As bad as this will be Man City next Wednesday will be even worse.
  5. Agree fans and players both resigned to relegation now, expecting our crowds to drop whilst we see out the season, players didn't want to be there tonight, they know its over.
  6. Apparently he's been training for a while, must be easing him back in , will be interesting to see cup line up on Saturday although more likely he'd play a couple of B games first
  7. We'll need to score 3 to win I reckon
  8. I was thinking the same
  9. The strike timetable has been confirmed for the weekend now, still requesting people not to travel but does seem an option from Southampton Central , no engineering work planned now so straight up to Clapham and change. SWR running no trains at all from Portsmouth to London on that route.
  10. McCarthy confirmed as injured I think so almost certainly it will be young Gav in goal McCarthy confirmed as injured I think so almost certainly it will be young Gav in goal
  11. Forest fans insight with obligatory "got tickets in home end" posts we've come to enjoy https://www.forestforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/official-matchday-18-southampton-vs-nottingham-forest-wed-4th-january-2023-19-30hrs.50922/
  12. When you look at their starting XI really makes you think, not many players there are household names or cost a lot, just well scouted / coached and play well as a TEAM , not all about spend spend spend, Brentford deserve a lot of credit
  13. Forgot to add there's a train strike again this week so once again no trains back for fans who rely on that mode of transport
  14. The club have gone to a lot of effort to entertain you, the least you can do is be in your seat at 7.15pm and take part in this groundbreaking initiative https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-12-22/st-marys-to-host-ground-breaking-light-show
  15. Watched the game with a Forest supporting relative, they seem weirdly cocky about how good they are and really fancy their chances to stay up, maybe its a hangover from buzz getting promoted last season but a complete contrast from Saints fans mindset
  16. "Hello mate, fancy going to Saints v forest wednesday night, massive relegation 6 pointer" "Nah not sure I can be bothered, we've been shit for months" "There's a never seen before ground breaking lightshow planned" "Count me in"
  17. It's fucking nonsense isn't it, Kingsland stand wearing some glow in the dark wristbands, stupid gimmicks designed by a marketing team who have zero awareness of the customer. Ignore it or probably chuck them on the pitch in protest
  18. If I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor
  19. Let's hope so, I think we will but if we go behind could change quickly. Forest have sold out full away end , obviously loads still available in home end but often best atmosphere isn't when sold out anyway. Will be interesting to watch Forest v Chelsea later
  20. To be fair Wednesday night is last chance saloon, go for it against Forest, get the fans up for it and get behind them for 90 mins , weirdly looking forward to it
  21. We're down aren't we
  22. Midfield looks complete mess in that line up, awful. 100% defeat coming our way

    Nathan Jones

    Amen
  24. I agree, terrible form, midweek just after Christmas with kids back at school won't be appealing, Man City only have the standard 3196 allocation as well, its not compulsory to give more in the league Cup but many teams usually do if demand is there, I reckon Man City will struggle to sell those even , probably will have enough southern based who will buy on general sale. There's loads of tickets still available for the massive game v Forest week before , disillusioned fan base have seen enough
  25. Absolutely no chance we keep a clean sheet
