Why did we let them hit so many crosses? Where is the pride in stopping crosses coming in from your side. Like we invited them to cross again and again. It must be easier to stop the crosses ever coming in, than rely on Baz and our marking… And Aribo… why bother? He certainly didn’t.

I agree, and adding on that, I just think we need a bit of consistency in this position.

I don’t think he is going to improve much defensively, but maybe his teammates and our tactics can help cover his shortcomings. I think Tonda said an interesting thing in the pre match presser when he was asked if Fellows would get problems defensively against a better calibre of wingers. His response was something like: I don’t see it as a one v one, it is something we as a team must deal with. Could also be one of the reasons for bringing in Quarshie to have better cover on Mannings side.

Like most players of his quality, he has both strenghts and flaws. If we can get the most out of his good qualities, and shore up around his worst, then he can play a big part for us this season.

I have it on good authority that this is due to the new technology we have in place to help Baz with his weakness(es)...

Agree, and while I still think a more experienced manager is the way to go, SR would most likely fuck up that appointment as well, so the lesser evil is perhaps to stay with what they have fallen into here... for now.

When he loses a couple of games he will start with the same drivel as Still. Just have to wait for a bit of pressure. Most managers sound good early on. He talked about clarity, and was anything but. The most important thing was understanding the club, and he had great leaders in the team that helped get that across? Something like that? Fair enough that he doesn’t want to talk about his tactics and what we have been working on, I actually applaud him for that, but the presser didn’t really give me anything…

I can't get excited about this. Whoever they pick will not be the best man for the job. It will end in fiasco about the same time the January transfer window closes. They will pick the wrong man for the job. Picking a skate will only make it worse...

I will admit that I thought the same as leeham, because it feels like SR always hires out of job managers. Then I remembered Nathan Jones, and I completely abandoned my idea/thought process... before I even got to Martin 😄

As we have very little chance of hanging onto a 1-0 lead, the way for us to win in this division (until we build confidence) is to get into a 2 or 3 goal lead, and hope that the opposition gives up a little and takes their foot off the gas. No point in trying to be solid in numbers at the back, as we crumble under pressure no matter how many bodies we put back there.

Matsuki is the most lightweight player I have seen in a while. Against Norwich he scored a great goal, but every time he got close to a Norwich player, he was brushed off the ball.

Of course we will always be a selling club, along with 99% of all football clubs. I honestly don’t get your point, if there is one.

Focus on building a good team first, and sprinkle said team with talented youngsters who might come good and turn a good profit down the line.

He scored a great goal, but every time a Norwich player got close to him he lost the ball. Looks decent if he can play in pockets and not come in to contact with other players, but does seem to lack a lot in the physical side of the game.
