They might do but i will be there getting behind the team. Saints usually play well when you expect them to get thrashed and after a bad loss.

Anyone else going? Typical Saints might just go and get an unexpected win.

Someone like Higgy a no nonsence experienced commited defender would be ideal. He can also take a penalty.

Would not want Le Tiss to manage Saints. Could not bear the thought of fickle fans giving him stick if it all went wrong.

Agree. He also showed a lot of bottle after having to put the ball on the spot several times due to the windy conditions.

He also didn't know Delap was rubbish playing right back or Bernard and Davenport were also rubbish defenders.

Hopefully same result as last season a 2-1 win when Thomas was man of the match. Wish he was back playing Tuesday. We also has Rasiak playing which helped.

I remember Sideways Jim Magilton missing one at the Dell v West Ham i think. David Peach only missed one. Apart Le Tiss's one miss(save by Crossley) i can't think of any others? For some reason left backs Peach, Higgy and Vignal all did ok.

Did he start/play many games? i've no idea. The point i was making was there are players out there that could do a job in defence for Saints.

Agree it seems money has been wasted and should have been spent on a big bruiser to play centre half and another to play centre forward the same as most teams in this league where most goals are scored from set pieces.

Burley signed Andrew Davies who most fans thought was a fairly good defender. He also got Ilfil and Dailly on loan who were considered decent defenders. He signed Thomas who fans are now saying is our saviour in defence. He also played Baird unlike previous managers and Baird was voted player of the season. I don't think Jan has been allowed to buy anyone decent or does not know the league well enough to get experienced defenders in. Pearson at least had contacts and knew that getting in experienced defenders like Perry and Lucketti in would help us last season. I can't believe the current manager or coaching team don't know we badly need defenders?

Have had a quick look at defenders currently not playing 1st team football in the Premier league. I know some will be too expensive with wages but surely Saints could get someone in with some experience to shore up the defence? rather than get more midfield loans in. Valente - Everton Knight - Villa O'Halloran - Villa Hunt - Bolton Gardner - Bolton Khizanishvilli - Blackburn Baird - Fulham Nosworthy - Sunderland Bardsley - Sunderland Hreidarsson - P*rtsmuff Gibbs - Arsenal Collins - West Ham Taylor - Wigan Boyce - Wigan Robinson - WBA Shawcross - Stoke Gunter - Spurs Plus there must be many others playing in the championship or below who could do a better job. Failing that we could always play Thomas and Skacel.
