England collapse in Mumbai against makeshift team
AndyNorthernSaints replied to TopGun's topic in General Sports
Althought it was unlikely that England would reach the target even on a decent batting pitch, once again the batsmen fail. They don't seem to have any competition for places and there are too many on central contracts who consistantly fail and keep their places :-( -
He would be swinging from the Itchen Bridge if that happens.
-
Agree. Euell played well towards the end of last season and is is a different league to the useless Wotton regarding ability/skill and mobility. He also is a goal threat unlike many other midfielders we have. Saints need to play a blend of young talented players with proven experience players to succeed in this league and cannot continue to play 8 or 9 youngsters getting bullied in this league. It's not rocket science really and someone at the club better realise it soon hopefully.

Surman is too small to play for Stoke.
-
That makes you an expert then?

Harry picked a defence containing Davenport, Bernard, Delap and Jakcobsen. I'd say he was responsible for a crap defense not able to defend leads.
-
Spot on Eric. Please can you make a few more trips over like you did at Derby so we can stay up please.

Burnley knock chelsea out at the Bridge

LOL You beat me to it -
Beating Chelski on pens. Taking 6000 fans to Chelsea midweek fair play to them :-)

Agree with you there. I've had to deal with some safeguarding adults cases myself where adults with a disability have been financially and physically abused by paid carers, informal carers and family members. As you said if in doubt act. Most times it's gut instinct or something other people might dismiss etc but you can't take the chance. Main problem is communication with health professionals and Police and slow responses to referrals made.

I find the Daily Mail and it's readers offensive.

What would you have done? the child had already been taken away once and an investigation took place. I'm more inclined to blame the doctor who should have examined the child in hospital.
-
Worst Saints manager ever.
-
The social worker was named and shamed in court. it's easy to criticise her but i don't think any of us would like to work in child protection. I know i wouldn't. You get slagged off for taking away children from parents or you get slagged off for failing to do so. The doctor/paeditrican should have examined the child in hospital but did not saying the child was "cranky"? At the end of the day if parents are determined to harm/kill their children, then it is dificult to stop them.

Wolves were thrashed by Norwich who Saints beat. Anyone can beat anyone in this league. I just hope we play some experienced defenders that don't get bullied by their forwards and play 2 strikers up front for a change. If Jan/Lowe picks the same line up as last satuday he should be prepared for the flak he gets.

Mickey Adams or Iain Dowie would do a decent job on limited resources IMO.
-
Remember his great touch turn and pass to Mark Dennis who crossed into box, ball headed back for Danny Wallace overheard kick goal of the season at the Dell many years ago.
-
You forgot to mention hanging, death sentence and stocks.
-
Cheers for that. Happy memories of being at that game. Mickey Adams a very underated player for Saints. Kenna's bizarre header back into box to set up their late equalizer. We didn't even need Le Tiss to take 5th pen. ****y young Giggs juggling ball before his pen was saved. Still remember moaning Manure fans on way out/home complaining about pens etc and me turning round to one of them saying they were still moaning about Stokes goal being offside in 76 :-) I ran all the way back to local in Hulme in Manchester to make last orders just to take the ****.
-
Worst defender since Mark Whitlock. I can't remember seeing him play a game when he was not responsible for a goal being conceded. Can never forget his ability to head the ball straight up into the air rather than forward or clearing the ball.
-
How about a chat room on match days and after games as it seems a lot of members don't go to games due to where they live or choosing not to go etc.

Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan - Sunday at Devil Dirt.

Got my ticket for England v Aussies at Old Trafford September 1st.

Just watched a half decent game Citeeh v Twente in which Citeeh made hard work as usual in a game they should have won easily.
