Man utd 2 Saints 2 , Saints win on penalites in the fa cup 1992. I can still remember Tim Flowers running half the pitch to the Saints fans there.

I think if you asked Beattie who was his best striking partner he'd say Brett Ornerod who did alot of the donkey work and helped make BT's reputation at Saints. Lots of players develop later at other clubs Kevin Davies being one. Who would have thought of him as a target man and brusier type centre forward when he was here?

That looks a good line up. I might be tempted to include Perry and Euell to add a bit of experience but Lallana and Gobern are definately better option than starting Smith and Thomson again.

Saints won away at Burnley last season on sky. Won at home v Luton previous season. I'm pretty sure we won a few games on sky at home to pompey, liverpool and Fulham as well after that spurs win.

Have you ever predicted anything other than a defeat for Saints?

Why not celebrate a great comeback and away win eh? we all know it's going to be a long hard difficult season with a very young side but games like saturday make it all worth while following Saints.

Player ratings which might be a bit blurred from alcohol. Davis - 6 no chance with goals, looked solid. James - 5 glad he went off half time. Skacel - 6 solid Pearce-8 looked good part from one dodgy pass back and great goal. Lancashire- 7 much improved performance. Cork - 7 much better at right back 2nd half Surman -7 great equaliser Thomson - 5 looked poor and gave ball away Smith - 4 not good enough at this level Morgan s - 6 like team played better 2nd half McGoldrick - 7 poor at times but great winning goal subs BWP - 7 Looked a threat Oscar - 7 first time i've seen him play. Looked very good. Gillett -6 slotted in well and provided better possession than Thomson. Fans - 10 not many of us but non stop singing and great support.

Just got back from game. Great support from hardcore 500 away fans with singing non stop from most fans throughout game. Even the quiet sat down fans at the front joined in at the end. In the words of the Who "the kids are alright" Can't remember Saints winning away from 2-0 down before? Todays game proved Thomson and Smith are not good enough at this level right now and Saints played much better 2nd half once subs came on. Hope we stick with same defence now that finished game. I've been a big critic of McGoldrick and again at times he still looked poor but came good with an a brilliant winning goal. What a difference to the meek surrender last saturday.
