I'm going. Looking forward to the day out and pre match beer to numb the pain before 3pm.

Aussie's bowling attack looks very poor without any proper spinners. I don't think England batsmen will be very worried about facing White and Katich spin next summer although their seam attack will still be good in english conditions. No wonder there were rumours of Warne coming out of retirement.

Saints "best passing team in the league"

How about a new song/chant tomorrow at Deepdale? "We've got the best passing side in the league" "It's just like watching Crewe" "Jan and Woopert's total football experiment" -
Saints "best passing team in the league"

I've read similar quotes/reports about Nottingham Forrest being a good passing team. Also Doncaster looked a very good footballing side when they beat Dirty Leeds in the play off final. At the end of the day you need proven goalscorers and a physical presence up front and in defence to succeed in this division. -
That looks ok to me. About the best we could select at the moment.

Gillett was man of the match v Derby and played well at Sheff Utd but has been disapointing in other games i've seen him play. Like alot of young players he's inconsistant but i think it's a bit early to write him off yet.
-
He may not have played well on saturday but name a player who did. I thought he did ok on Tuesday and with him and cork in the fullback positions we looked alot more solid although we rode our luck and had to rely on Kelvin again on occassions. Playing both Mills and James has resulted in heavy defeats this season. This is not a critisism of mills who i think is a good prospect but you can't play 3 or 4 youngsters in defence in this league and you certainly can't get away with playing 8 or 9 youngsters in the team.

Did i miss all these chances for Saints when i went for a pint before half time on saturday cos i can't remember any? Just remembered McGoaldrought headed a chance over the bar 2nd half.
-
Probably right about wages but the Preston manager will have a better knowledge/understanding of players in this country/league than Jan or Woopert do. Pearson used his knowledge to get Perry/Lucketti last season. Two experienced pro's who i doubt cost alot. I expect Saints will announce another midfielder on loan soon like the Millwall reserve Smith,

He did alright tuesday and the defence looked alot more solid and resilient. The team overall played better which was probably due to Wotton, James and McGoaldrought being dropped. For some reason 2 of these were recalled for Swansea. Rudi at least knows how to win a freekick when getting presured by an attacker which came in handy on tuesday. On saturday no one was making runs or space to recieve passes which made it difficult to keep possession. Agree that Mills has potential unlike James to play at this level but without other experienced players around him it is alot to ask for him to make the left back berth his own. IMO Skacel and Surman on the left would be a good combination.

Yes but the other teams are not picking 8 or 9 youngsters in their teams and have not loaned out their 3 best strikers :-(
-
Make sure you get into the ground first Kev :-)

What about the dozens of times James was beaten by his man? he may have been exposed but each game i've seen him this season he does not look capable of playing any position at this level. The decision to go into a season with no recognised fullbacks was idiotic. Agree about the poor support but the team hardly deserved any yesterday.
-
I would like a big lump playing centre half and centre forward the same as every other team in the league. No one gave Davis stick yesterday as most who go regularly to games realise he's saved us many times this season.

Hats off to Hull.. Keep it up, you are an inspiration

Wish they would loan us Dean Windass. -
Same intelligence that shoots dead that brazilian guy on a train.

Remember him saying saints job would be his last in football.

you beat me to it whoops....
-
just reported on sky sports news that Pompey have agreed for Harry to talk to Spurs. Lol :-)
-
Palace had a hard working, fit, well organised side with an experienced manager. They also had Neil Shipperly a big strong centre forward which most teams apart from Saints have in their side.
-
We were in that bar when the local Danny Dyer look alikes came in taking the **** out of the age and numbers of Saints youth who had got off the train.

Just got home after a 8 hr + round trip to watch that shower of ****e. Just seen Jan the man with no plan on Sky Sports saying Saints played some good football????????????????????????????????????????????????????? He was right on one thing, Swansea wanted it more which is very sad. McGoaldrought put in another **** poor performance. I was happy when he and James were dropped last tuesday and amazed they were both recalled today. In the end i felt sorry for James as he was beaten by his man for the hundreth time. He is clearly not good enough and his confidence is shot but Jan or Woopert still pick him? the lad will end up playing sunday league at this rate. I won't be going back to Swansea again and doubt Saints will also.

Mohican. Bic razor.

As much as i dislike Redkrap, he and Keegan have managed teams in the top flight unlike Jan who has been at lower league dutch football which is probably conference south standard.

Players Contracts especially appearance money

Laziness and waste of space last season??????????????????????????????? What planet are you on?????? John showed on tuesday in a rare appearance this season how to hold up the ball and keep possession something that no other striker at the club has shown he is capable of doing this season.
