Saints Greatest XI - Second Best Right-Midfielder Poll
AndyNorthernSaints replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
I guess he's more likely to win left midfield versus Armstrong/Sydenham than centre midfield versus Williams, Case, Ball etc -
Chairmen appoint Ince, sell best 2 players, don't give Ince funds to spend, team make poor start so chairmen sack manager but keep their jobs :-(

It might have been his fault that Dyer was loaned out weeks after signing new contract? James looks better going forward than in defence so might be worth a try right wing. Even with 2 wingers we still ned a centre forward in the box who can score.

So will Matt Le Tiss be nominated only for left midfield? -

Also don't recall Tessem being a right sided midfielder? mostly central midfield, right back a couple of times and striker towards end of time with Saints. -

I don't remember seeing Keegan, Ball or Danny Wallace playing right midfield? -
Donkey Powell playing rubbish as usual, at fault for 1st goal, then booked after letting ball bounce, then easily beaten for 2nd goal and now subbed. Probably injured.

Last year as a joke i bought two wind up toy racing grannies with zimmer frames for someone who shares our office and works with the elderly. They were not impressed and soon sussed out it was from me as everyone else had bought serious presents.

Is "are you mad" classed as abuse on here now?

Bet they were wearing warm coats? unlike a few youngsters down the front who were in shorts which reminded me of Dennis Rofe. Good to hear the Woolston Ferry being sang. Strange that a side 4th in the league only get 11000 attendance though. Maybe they were saving their money for the cup semi games?

Well i got the correct score but to wrong team :-(
-
It looked like he threw somthing at the dug out when taken off? not sure if he was injured or just playing poorly like the rest of team in the 1st half.

Saints Greatest XI - Nominations For Best RM.
AndyNorthernSaints replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
Only saw Paine towards the end of his Saints career. So will go for Le Tiss as i think Dave Armstrong was the best left sided midfielder i saw play for Saints and centre midfield should be Ball, Case or Steve Williams. Difficult choices really. -
Burnley 3-2 Saints - Post Match Reaction
AndyNorthernSaints replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
Just back from game. Player ratings. Davis 7 at fault for 2nd goal but kept score down with fine saves after. James 6 looks ok going forward but weak defensively. Skacel 6 good goal but looked slow at times in defense and was usually outnumbered. Perry 6 solid most of time Cork 8 played centre half, midfield and right back pretty well. Euell - 7 poor 1st half like everyone but got alot more involved 2nd half. Lallana 7 looked good at times but usual midfield lack of bite and killer ball. Morgan - 5 didn't look fit and went off 1st half, not sure if injured or poor play? BWP - 6 tries hard at times but not a winger and poor control let him down at times Surman 7 better 2nd half and took goal well. McGoaldrought 4 poor again. Does not know how to get into goal scoring positions and waits for ball to come to him too much when getting beaten to ball. Does not win headers and i'm pretty sure he tackled his own player at one point in 2nd half. Pearce 6 looked ok when he came on 1st half Robertson - 5 poor again and no threat Overal a disaster first 10 mins and first half when Burnley could have been in double figures by half time. Much better 2nd half but side seemed to run out of steam late on and didn't threaten goal. Saints badly need a centre forward and some bite in midfield. -
Thicko alert :-(

Does it still fit :-)

Top 5 best and worst player to play for saints in CCC
AndyNorthernSaints replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Best Niemi Richard Wright Kelvin Davis Guthrie Bale Worst Donkey Powell Wotton Smith McGoaldrought Best The fact that there are 3 keepers in my best top 5 says alot about Saints performances in this league :-( -
Burnley 2 Saints 3

Not at all. BWP has been good on occasions but is not an effective winger. I would rather Skacel, Surman, Holmes or Dyer player out wide.
-
What did he do? Playing out wide, did he beat his man? Did he get to the byline and put in a decent cross? Did he win any headers? Was he a goal threat? Was he offide often? Did he lose posession mostly? Did he get subbed?
