  1. We will know after the first few 50/50 tackles tomorrow if the team have got the message and are up for it.
  2. They have undersoil heating.
  3. Barnsley 0 Saints 1 (Saeijs 90).
  4. Paid £18 to watch Mansfield v Woking this season.
  5. He was playing in the Dutch top division.
  6. Davis James, Perry, Saeijs, Skacel Lallana, Schneiderlin, Gillett, Surman Saganowski, McGoldrick subs Forcast Lancashire BWP Euell Holmes
  7. I hope Jan does not come out with "we've not got wingers so have to play strikers out of position" like he did after Dyer went........
  8. I'd be more hopeful of a result if you over for the game eric. I will do my best to recover in time and do my bit for the economy. My local off licence owner is probably worried as he's not seen me for 2 days.
  9. Van Gobbell
  10. Hopefully see you there if i recover from chest infection which could seriously effect beer consumption :-(
  11. Yes you can pay on the day.
  12. Derby have a new revolutionary coaching set up which teaches players how to shoot on target from outside the box.
  13. Funny that he's on the bench for a league 2 side but is deemed good enough for Saints. BTW not a go at White who i think has potential to be a decent player in the future.
  14. I too have have seen a few decent displays at Derby, Preston and Doncaster and at home to Reading recenty. The thing that worries me most is the coaching team do not seem to be able to organise the defence to defend set pieces and actually mark players etc and we have little goal threat. Apart from that we play some neat and tidy propaganda football in midfield.
  15. That Man Utd side you mention contained the likes of Irwin, Bruce, Ince, Hughes, McClair, Schiemchel, Parker, Pallister, Keane, Blackstock, Cantona so was not dominated by youngsters. Even Beckham went on loan to Preston prior to making his breakthrough. The difference with Saints is we are expecting 8 or 9 youngsters to be good enough and successful which is something that has never really happened in the history of football.
  16. Did you see the loss to Rotherham? think that might be what it is like after Kelvin leaves. The most worrying thing for me is that only a few youngsters ever make the grade from the academy at the same time and we are expecting 8 or 9 of them to be good enough. Most of them should be out on loan in league 1 or 2 clubs. The fact that one of our promising youngsters Jamie White is on the bench for Shrewsbury says it all to me :-(
  17. He played for Oxford in the past. But like you say mostly Northern clubs. There must be other players like him available who could add some much needed experience and knowhow to our youngsters.
  18. KP could concentrate on winning the championship with Hampshire :-)
  19. Burnley are a well organised hardworking side with skillful players who play some good football. McGoldrick and others should study the recording of game on how hard Paterson worked making runs and being supported by Eagles, Blake and McCann etc which offered a goal threat and something Saints don't seem to know how to do. Unfortunately for Burnley they missed their centre half and captain Caldwell and his replacement Duff had a nightmare game. They conceded 3 soft goals and also missed Gudjohnsen who was protecting the back 4 and who went off injured. Also alot of their players have played at lower levels like Paterson and Elliot (ex Bournmouth and Saints fan). Just wish our coaching team and chairman director of football would have some knowledge of players like these.
  20. According to SSN Dean Windass is speaking to Hartlepool about a loan move. I know he's double our average age team of kids but i'm sure he could do a decent job for Saints. Might teach some of our strikers how to shoot, head and get into goal scoring positions.
  21. Hardcore were on the train.
  22. I live in Old Trafford so you might bump into a friendly fellow saints fan :-)
  23. Couple of Manure supporting mates said to me exactly what i thought i.e men v boys (and ref imo). And they said it was a hell of alot of difference from the days when Saints would turn them over and give them a hard game.
  24. I take it you can pay on the day? nothing about it on tickets info for game on OS?
