What decent manager would work under Lowe? If Lowe went then; Dowie Adams Lambert Collins Cotterill
-
Don't care how we play, how lucky or scrappy or controversial etc but will settle for a 1-0 win and being out of the bottom three please.

He started for a very poor Derby team that lost to Saints early season. Think he was subbed. Don't think he has featured much since.

Don't move.

Bale -living up to potential he showed with us?
AndyNorthernSaints replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Bale should have gone to Man utd where he could have learned his trade similar to Walcott at Arsenal who took his time to become a regular premier league player. Bale would not have replaced Evra but would have played a few times instead of O'Shea. Spurs fans are famous for being fickle whether it's the manager or players. -
Who said Saints fans were the most pessimistic in the country?

Who are they? :-)

Brown used to play for Spurs. He's just the sort of combative midfielder we need. He's the only player i've seen nearly get sent off in a testimonial. Can tackle, pass and shoot.

Saints Greatest XI - B-Team Right Side Striker Poll
AndyNorthernSaints replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
I agree a thankless task. Problem with it is that some people can't actually read and understand simple instructions. I voted for Moran and will vote for Ron for first team later. -
Maybe they confused him with Burnley striker Martn Paterson?

Are all our strikers THAT bad ...?
AndyNorthernSaints replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
The strikers have not been good enough and the side needs an experienced centre forward to lead the line and score goals. Saying that the service to the strikers has been poor as well. McGoldrick might score 15 by the end of season but that will not be enough others start scoring. Some shooting practice and shots from outside the box might be worth a try. -
the things the fans have said over the years

"McGoldrick and our hungry young strikers will score 20+ goals this season" " anyone could do a better job than him (Burley)" " who needs Niemi when we have Paul Smith " -
If Saints get in a striker, experienced midfielder who can tackle and pass and another defender i think we might be alright. I'm still worried about the lack of goal threat, the lack of awareness of forward players to make space/runs into the box to score. Although McGoldrick has been better recently i don't think him, Paterson, Saga and BWP will get enough goals, meaning we have to rely on Davis to save us each game.

I think they are still to win a league game when Bale has started. I really hope Spurs go down to end this myth that Redkrap is a great manager and because saints relegation is never mentioned in his CV. Actually i'd rather they go down than Pompey cos Pompey are skint and will go sooner or later anyway.

Saints Greatest XI - B Team Right Striker Nominations

Paul Moody Keith Cassells Leon Best Justin Fashanu -
Cork's best position was in central midfield IMO and he is missed. Surman and Morgan cannot tackle and leave us vulnerable against decent sides.

Just got back from game. Scrappy game but much needed win. Davis man of match saved us once again today with vital saves. Saeijs looked good in defence and won plenty of headers and tackles. Midfield still lightweight and a better side would have exploited the lack of tackling etc. Fullbacks looked poor defensively and going forward with poor passing at times. Saints got into plenty of good crossing positions but players in the box don't seem to know how to make space i.e two players both going far post, therefore not giving crosser options. Overall i thought it was a hard thought scrappy win that we could have easily lost. Glad i got out of bed to go, after suffering with chest infection this week which meant i had to watch Saints sober :-o

I was watching 442 Channell review of season about 2002/03 recently. Everton drawing at home to Man Utd last game of season with minutes to go Van Horse face falls over in area and gets soft pen to win title. Match referee Mike Riley :-(
-
I can't believe you are not going!!!!!!!!!
-
Take it you didn't watch the game then? Watford had more possession but defended poorley. Scoreline flattered Reading who played poorly but took chances. Cork played in midfield and was outstanding acccording to commentators.

I see Lee Trundle has gone to Dirty Leeds on loan. Would have been a good loan move IMO. -
I'd have Gillett ahead of Wotton any day on the grounds that Gillett can actually move.
