  1. Oh don;t you Dalek one? ;/ You are correct but we should not be in a position where we have no alternative but to play a geriatric goalkeeper (who wasn't up to it when he was in his prime) when our first choice is injured.
  2. Subs did make us worse. For me that was not the time to bring on a player who had never played in the Prem before and would therefore very likely not be attuned to the pace of said league. We were the better side first half, them 2nd. 2 2 seems fair enough in the circumstances. KD - as much as I think he is a great bloke and servant to the club etc - distribution is utterly appalling. Please never again in the first team.
  3. E-mails are free FFS!!!! Just a simple free e-mail and this thread could have been so different.
  4. Yep, commentators were praising him for his composure. Hmm. Anyway who cares - well done Shane.
  5. Agree with all that except Bertrand 6 which is ridiculous. He was excellent, minimum 8
  6. He was comfortably the best attacker on the pitch absolutely no doubt. Falcao, Willian, Hazard, Pedro - PAH!
  7. What a win that was. Losing all respect for Mourhino who whinged about not getting a penalty and pointed to that as the sole reason his team lost giving us no credit whatsoever and totally ignoring the 2 penalty incidents we had (I thought neith the Mane or Falcao incidents were pens but the Ivanovic shirtmugging of VVD so definitely was FWIW). I LOVED Pelle's shot, arrowed perfectly into the bottom corner but Mane was MOM all day long. Stand out efforts from VVD, Cedric, Tadic and Davis (for the goal if nothing else) but overall team display was utterly superb. C'MON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. :smug:Today my feelings that we would be fine this year despite our indifferent start were confirmed. Happy days, time for a beer:smug
  9. Enjoying this immensely apart from this w@nker commentator calling Pelle "Pether". Please someone explain why:mcinnes:
  10. Now that is good to see. As stated above, like pre-injury JRod.
  11. Oh, ok then. Apparently unlike you I take it as a given that when people on football forums on the internet talk about football players signed by managers of football clubs (eg - "Cedric Soares was signed by Ronald Koeman") they think the money to fund such purchases come from the club in question rather than from the personal bank account of the manager in question.
  12. Interesting, Charlie - are you saying that Koeman did not want to sign him?
  13. He basically stated that Soares has no defensive qualities. That's Soares, the man he bought as a defender to play in our defence.
  14. The cheapest way to get all your windows and doors replaced is to become a Surveyor with a large Developer or Main Contractor and then politely threaten not to let large contracts to interested window/door suppliers unless they replace all the windows and doors in your house free of charge.
  15. Bois. Theydon Bois.
  16. Good stuff. My only slight criticism would be that transfer windows slam shut rather than swing as suggested in your opening line.
  17. I simply turned mine off. A one star awful performance to rank alongside Sheff Utd last season.
  18. Waheey!! What utter turd this is.
  19. Yes, you will need decide on either 15th or 16th though. (£17 stake seems appropriate).
  20. I'm tending towards 13th. Dalek one do you wish to put your money where your, er that thing that looks like a sink plunger is, and have a bet on which of us is closest come the season's end??? (I am assuming you are sticking with your 17th mantra)
  21. Obviously not great but overall I'm happy with that due to our looking far, far more solid albeit against a team you would expect to be amongst the weakest in the division. Fek all going forward but that's a product of the more cautious approach, as are the absences of the gaping midfield holes and exposed full-backs. Romeu looks very handy at what he was bought to do but needs to calm it a bit, Vic was ok but the passing is still very erratic. Fonte was superb all game. Shame about Sadio as he looked up for it. Based on the first 3 games of the season I cannot see 3 obvious relegation candidates. Sunderland maybe but even they forced a point yesterday after an awful start, but the 3 that have come up have all done well and no other team stands out as particularly bad. Could be very close this year.
  22. Me too mate. A couple of Chelsea supporting friends I know have stopped going to Stamford Bridge because since the money and success it's rammed with bellends who haven't got the first clue about the game, and anyway the success is utterly hollow, pointless and empty because it's just been bought. The only way we can ever win things is if we have an Abramovich takeover so we can buy success and, if we did, I know I would end up feeling like they do.
  23. Oh FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just saw it myself, the way they worded it was that he had been offered a new contract and turned it down saying he was interested in a move elsewhere and would be open to working with Pochettino again. Hopefully it's just a negative spin on him not signing a new contract and perhaps when asked if he would like to play for Spurs he didn't just say "No". Even more hopefully the whole story is utter bullshine. If not and it's all true - Oh FFS!!!!!
  24. Not only a done deal but a done deal for a "Man Utd target"! This could be the start of a shift in the balance of power between the two clubs. No way will Sadio even consider going there after this, and no doubt Morgan will be questioning if it was the right move after all.
  25. If you keep on saying we'll come 17th or perhaps get relegated one season it will happen, you will be correct, and you will have "seen ahead of the crowd". Excellent.
