I would strongly bet yes, if only a couple of pedantic weirdos (they know who they are).
-
Never did understand algebra. Is Gaston (aka Gashton/Gashy/The Gash LOL!!!) starting or not?
-
Good question. I would like him to reconfirm his belief that we are sleep walking towards relegation and that he is being proved correct in his assertions.
-
Well, that feel's a lot better. Still missing chances though! I think we may have just sleep walked our way out of a relegation battle. Hopefully I will be proved correct in my assertions.
-
Because he is sh!t. The fact he can kick a ball more than 30 yds in it's intended direction was enough to make him appear the required antidote to the joke options of Davis and Gazza whilst FF was injured. However as the season has worn on it has become abundantly clear that he is somewhat lacking in the save-making department, so much so that Gazza now genuinely looks like a better option. You couldn't make it up really.
-
ME. Apart from his kicking he's fecking ****.
-
Scored against Arsenal. Then again, so did Long (x2!) - Just imagine the uproar If we bought Grabban for £8 Million
-
Sadly this is the conclusion I am coming to. Pressure's right on now to prove it's not the case but some of his substitutions and the timing of them leave you questioning if he's really up to it.

The bloke is all effort and no skill, composure or finesse. Chances to goals ratio must be absolutely shocking. Glaring miss against Palace, glaring miss today, 2 glaring misses against Arsenal (didn't see Wham but sounds like there was one there too). Sadly it simply is not good enough to put in all action displays and then **** up all the chances your hard work earns you.
-
Absolute ****E. We don't create much but even worse we don't seem to realise when we have created a chance. So feckin ponderous and indecisive.
-
"Right lads, when the ball is rolled back to you by one of our defenders I want you kick it weakly straight to an opponent thereby putting us in immediate danger of conceding a goal"
-
Utter rot old boy. Thought the big African chap had his best game of the season.
-
Sadly it is entirely possible to be a truly awful premier league goalkeeper and still be better than Davis. Gazza ticks the first box, jury's out on the 2nd.
-
Agree with most of that but I've read it too many times now to just ignore - In the context with which it is used above the word is DEFINITELY not "defiantly". "Pacific" in lieu of "specific" is the only effort that comes close.
-
What? I thoroughly enjoy an exciting and hugely entertaining match as well, but that was not one of them.
-
Yep,my overriding memory of the day will be that Villa were really, really shyte - and we still didn't beat them.
-
Last night (albeit after letting all the other 6 of a total of 7 shots on target in). The basic point that he ain't too hot on making saves (which, let's face it, is an important part of a goalkeeper's skill set) is a valid one though. Good distribution alone does not a good keeper make.

I recall Ollie Lancashire being described as "the next one off the conveyor belt" (It was in a respected paper - can't remember which - not digging at anyone on here).

Apart from 2 through balls that led to goals against Newcastle and Palace last season it is a real struggle to think of any meaningful impact he has had in open play. He can't shoot from open play(fecking awful in fact) and is generally slow and lightweight. He hits a decent whipped in dead ball (mainly from corners) but apart from a free kick that hit the post against West Brom (IIRC) has never got anywhere near scoring. It would seem that Ron and the rest of the backroom team see something in training that makes them keep picking him (intermittently) as if hoping it will suddenly click and he starts performing the same way during actual matches. Hopefully this is what will happen but Christ I'm getting bored waiting.

1. McMenemy 2. Koeman 3. Adkins 4. Pochettino 5. Hoddle 6. Ball 7. Nichol And for balance, the rankest gaffers in my lifetime: 1. Wigley 2. Redknapp 3. Sturrock 4. Wotte 5. Portvliet 6. Burley 7. Can't put anyone else in there tbf, Merrington at a push

When was the last time we scored a decisive late goal at home?

Oh ffs I've just realised it was mentioned in the OP (MASSIVE FACEPALM). -

2nd season back up, Fonte header for 1-1 against Sunderland (FFS). Think it was the first home game of the season? Cancelled out midget Italian Giacharinni (sp) header. Apols if mentioned above but could not see it during brief scan. -
Hmmmmm, looking at that he seems to spend the entire match in the same half of the pitch regardless of which end we are attacking. He definitely needs to sort that out.

We just need to concentrate on staying in the league. 40 points should do it, then we can start to relax. Anything in the cups will be a bonus
