You are of course correct. You have been warning against complacency for years whilst all those around you remained with their heads planted firmly in the sand doubting, even mocking, you. You are now being revealed in your true light as a visionary soothsaying genius.
No sign of anything whatsoever from the Chinese chap. Bit worrying really, would prefer at least a nuanced press statement that he's not happy with how it's going currently.
The problem with this argument is that every player on that list has proven at different times in their careers that they are capable of playing well and being good attackers. They have ability, it's up to the manager to motivate them and set the team up to take advantage of those abilities.
It's not the result, it's the performance. Didn't expect to win but a bit of fight, a goal, even a hint of looking like scoring might soften the blow. We got none of these.
Both of their games rely (relied) heavily on pace. Torres lost his years ago due to injury, Walcott less clear cut but has been seriously injured, can't get back in Arsenal's team and would be a major gamble. We need players with genuine pace not players who used to have it but definitely or probably don't anymore.
Wouldn't be noticed as much possibly but would definitely still be noticed. His current level of cr@pness would would not go unnoticed even if his mistakes didn't keep costing us points.
Respect that people can see things differently but I certainly did not see a formation in which Boufal - or anyone else for that matter - played pretty much off the striker. I saw a frustrated and isolated front man just as I've seen for most games last season and all games this. I would have preferred a formation with 2 genuine attackers and I would not start Tadic at all for at least a couple of games, he's been ****ing awful all season.
For me this totally misses the point. We were the better side and ,no, we didn't deserve to lose if you view the match purely in terms of what happened on the pitch. But we were at home against BURNLEY and we played the same old 1 up front unadventurous crap. If we aren't prepared to go balls out for a win at home against Burnley who are we prepared to do that against? IT'S S.H.I.T.
So that's Van Dyke, Bertrand, Redmond (LOL), Tadic (LOL) all out then. You are probably right, get rid of that lot and the manager and replace sensibly and we will probably improve.
