TBF FFS if it wasn't for these international breaks the season would finish a hell of a lot sooner than it does. Either that or no football would be played at all on the international weekends ffs.
It's testament to how good he is at everything apart from scoring that he continues to be picked. Seriously, if he took even 50% of the chances his superb work rate and running earn him he would be one of the best strikers in the league.
Best thing about this season so far is JRod's tentative first steps to potentially getting back to the pre-injury version. That finish showed the kind of composure Long sadly does not possess and never will.
We played well today, definitely deserved at least a point and were disgustingly robbed of it by appalling refereeing. However I remain very concerned about our lack of fire power which was the main reason we didn't win. A good finisher instead of Long in our side and we win that 3-2 or at least draw 2-2.
Generally agree but we need to start putting away our chances (some easy) and no clean sheets in 16 matches needs to be addressed. Jesus Christ I can't remember being so enraged about football for such a long time.
More angry than words can possibly express right now but it's not because of our manager for the first time so far this season. The performance was fine but obviously we were robbed by the ref and fex sake I am sick of seeing Long miss easy chances.
"Beer, beer we want more beer, get another round in etc" the whole stadium was merrily chanting it as they looked forward to toasting our excellent first half showing with a wonderfully tepid pint of Carlsberg. Or something.
Agree he should be given a chance, won't boo him, but my instincts and the football I've seen us play so far are telling me his appointment is a mistake. Totally hope I'm wrong.
I'm not liking him either I have to say. It is early days but I just don't feel positive that he will turn out to be the right appointment. Watford and Sunderland at home are two games you absolutely target/expect wins in and he's p!ssed them both up the wall.
