  1. Totally disagree that most of our CBs make a couple of those sort of **** ups in a game. Agree that a young player breaking into the first team is more likely to be more susceptible to making errors which was why I said being forced to play too often too soon could damage him.
  2. *Just remembered Fox did it, and if that's an indicator of Stephens' level we really are ducked:scared:
  3. To be honest, whilst he obviously had a stormer against Liverpool Stephens has looked a quite dodgy - Swansea handball, ridiculous clearance blasted straight into his own player against Arsenal (I honestly cannot ever remember seeing that done before). He may well make it, hope he does, but playing regularly for the first team now could damage him and the thought of it is pretty scary.
  4. Paco Diaz, a foreign fancy dan winger way ahead of his time. I think he may have even refused to play to force a move back to the continent.
  5. That first sentence sums the magnitude of this f.uck up perfectly. The bloke has been a half decent, very error prone back up player at best throughout his time with us but has looked quite good this season - now he's our main man FFS!
  6. Best odd-looking Italian attacking options in the whole league.
  7. Agree Tadic has been f@ckin sh!t this season, he really has.
  8. We actually played well in the 2nd half, Boufal superb. All of which makes it all the more infuriating we lost. F. F. S5 losses from 6 games now, the only win against a Leicester team seemingly shot to pieces. That was a must win, West Ham on Saturday is in the same category
  9. Familiar pattern. You could see it going that way. I'd love to say I'm confident we can turn it round but frankly I am not. At all.
  10. Haha, Channon got completely taken out in the box and its an indirect free kick! Like you say, never see them given now (in or outside the box). On another note, it's no wonder they never needed a rest in those days - the pace of the game was so slow it was virtually like having a rest on match day.
  11. Hmmm "host of premier league clubs". I'm not sure what number constitutes a host but I'd like to think we are not in that number.
  12. A disgraceful embarrassment.
  13. Cannot remember him doing anything that remotely made me think he was going to be a good player.
  14. Outstandingly bad for someone who looked so good when he arrived. His shooting is comical.
  15. Strong bench!!
  16. GTFI! Brilliant display made even more satisfying by the fact I watched it in Southsea where I'm working (I live in Kent) and where I witnessed a group of Portsmouth helmets acting all hard in the high street at about 7pm, looking forward to their big night out "watching the Scum get battered".
  17. We are doing superbly. Stephens, Romeu, Redmond all outstanding. But FFS our finishing is fecking INFURIATINGLY bad. It's incredible really that we can be so consistently poor at the most important thing in football. We can still do this, but you just feel we are going to pay for all these opportunities p!ssed away. C'mon Saints!!!
  18. Wasn't really tested enough for any cracks to show.
  19. If you consider today's result and this season so far in general rationally, soberly and from a purely neutral point of view it's obvious that Leicester did nothing more than paper over the cracks when they won the league last season. The b'stards.
  20. FFS. If that's long term we have GOT to get someone else in.
  21. Should have been at least 2. Still in this though and if we can sneak a goal up there we have a decent chance.
  22. This is the crux of it for me regardless of where we are in the league, how many points we have, and how that all compares with previous seasons at the same stage. We are boring and he is the main reason for this indisputable fact. I suppose he should be given the chance to improve it especially if given the backing to bring in at least a striker in the window but ultimately I would be pleased and relieved if he went now.
  23. Tipping point being reached today, this is beginning to seriously fall apart.
  24. Not a chance in hell, sadly.
