  1. Absolute crap. Hope Seaborne makes a full recovery. His poor family will be going through hell at the moment.
  2. But my point is you saying Southampton relies on being near the New Forest. This despite a lot of investment in the city from DP World, ABP, Ikea, Tesco, Carnival..... There isn't much point wasting time and money on bids you know you won't get. Similar to our World Cup bid, which we were never going to win, but spent millions to confirm our fears.

    Tipping

I wish I knew that before I went! Dune, McDonalds don't do tips anyway.
  4. You make an excellent point. The container port turns ships around quicker than the vast majority of European ports, but speed alone is not enough. DP World are constructing a major new container port in London, so there is no doubt that Southampton needs investment in order to compete in the future. A new berth, and more cranes, will hopefully be operational shortly.
  5. No, you said Southampton needs new investors and relies on being near the New Forest. I pointed out a couple of major recent investors in the City, that have nothing to do with the New Forest. Private investment is pretty difficult to come by at the moment, and we can't spunk off of any grants board going like Liverpool do. I'm not too sure about your claim about your father either.
  6. I'm not sure I'd want my anonimity revealed. I would feel like Clarke Kent when Lois sussed out he was Superman. So, sadly, I would decline a pint and continue with my friendless life behind a keyboard.
  7. Of course he would expect to start. I wouldn't expect us to be paying top dollar for a Championship bench warmer. Salary could be a problem, but Everton have strict wage restrictions themselves so we may be able to afford his salary. Ego is down to Adkins to manage.
  8. Southampton has attracted considerable investment in its port and cruise businesses over the last few years. Carnival have set up a massive office in the City, and the container port was taken over a few years ago by middle-eastern investors, and is shortly to be extended. We didn't get grants, and the investment has been funded privately. I think you are a bit ignorant of the facts.
  9. It's not rocket science. Fonte, in my opinion, is a better player. Dann is overrated, and over-valued.
  10. He's well overpriced. His agent has done a magnificent job leaking supposed interest from top teams. If he's worth £5m, then Fonte is worth £15m.
  11. I am less then bothered how it makes me look. That boring f*cker has been waiting for us to lose so that he can start moaning. He is a prize pr*ck, as are the rest of the moaners after 1 defeat. Spoilt brats. This is Saints, not Barcelona.
  12. You are a prize pr*ck. F*ck off.
  13. Judge the club when the window shuts and our business has concluded. Until then, these theories, based on anonymous internet postings, are a waste of time.
  14. Definitely Shilton, followed by Niemi. Flowers played his best football at Blackburn. When we had Shilts he was arguably the best keeper in the world.
  15. I'm old school. You can't beat fanny. Another favourite that hasn't been mentioned is *****.

    Sam Baldock

The problem with missing out on Baldock, Sharp and Rodrigues (all of whom we have bid for, probably) is that it could be perceived that the forward we eventually land is in effect 4th choice.
  17. Colin is a prat. If we have annoyed him, great.

    Sam Baldock

If we don't sign him, the virtual reality suicide rate is going to rocket with SaintsWeb posters.
  19. It might predate the Inbetweeners, but there is no doubt that its widespread use today is down to the programme. Before the programme about the 4 adolescents, clunge was very rarely used. Fanny, Axe-Wound, Beef Curtains or growler were all far more popular, as well as the really special word, c*nt.
  20. Have you just been watching The Inbetweeners? I remember a few years ago, after 'The Football Factory', loads of people were using the 'mugged off' phrase. It's amazing the power films have over simpletons.
  21. If the Peel group used its own money for the cruise facility they could have gone for whatever business was up for grabs. Unfortunately for them, they took grants under very strict conditions. Their decision, and tough luck.
  22. 'The terminal was funded entirely by grants from the European Union and the UK taxpayer. The money was given on the strict condition that it must not operate turnaround cruises, so the terminal couldn’t unfairly take business from private sector competitors. Yet less than two years after it was opened Liverpool Council was applying to have the condition removed. Now, just 18 months after that application was resoundingly rejected, the council is back again with the same request.' Bit of a no-brainer. Totally unfair on Southampton and other ports. Petition signed.
  23. I haven't forgiven Pearce for that Pizza Hut advert.
  24. The chipshops in Woolston are f*cking rank, without exception.
